After I wrote this review two months ago they just replied to me and talking about their best service and uptodated with a lot of training that's just an excuse , what i existences with this company was not Energency matter to them at all
I called them at night for My smoke alarm issue as emergency they showed up in my apartment day after at 5:00 pm and guy he came in for diagnosis lied all about electrical issue and service which starts minimum $1500 to fix it and then brought the price to $1000 and then when I asked him just remove smoke detector for now and I will deal with that issue later was trying to drop the price to $800 and I told him you know what I am not there to discuss any more price with them and please just remove it for me and by just removing detector he charged me $150 and the day after I bought three new smoke detector for Home Depot and asked an electrician to install all three for me but not just one for $100 and there was no electrical issue at all just that specific smoke detector was old and needed to be replaced
That company and people they are working are not trustful at all
I should have looked at the Yelp reviews before calling this company. My experience seems to be very similar to everyone else....
Recently had Express Electrical come to my home to try and diagnose a very odd electrical issue I was having. After 20 minutes of the tech looking through my main and sub panels he came back and told me I had a voltage drop but he didn't know where, but he had 3 options. The first option was a $11,000 overhaul of my entire main panel. The second was a $6,000 repair and the third was a $4,000 repair. How can he have given me repair estimates without even knowing the problem? I explained to the tech if the repair was going to be that much I would have to go through my home warranty. He then tried to convince me that I should just authorize him to do the repairs and the home warranty would reimburse me. I told him that is not the way home warranty companies work. But then he had a fourth option, he could give me temporary power for $1,100. How could he give me temporary power if he still didn't know what the problem was? I paid the $50.00 for the service call and thanked him for his time. The next day I called the people who installed my solar and they sent someone out to see what was happening. Come to find out it was a corroded main breaker that was $350.00. I cant believe the way this company tried to rip me off. I live in a nice house and the tech thought he saw an easy mark. Stay away from this company.
Marco came out and after about 10 minutes established it was a problem with Edison. It cost me $129.45 and he said he could not honor any of the discounts in the yellow pages or on their website.
While I was calling Edison he left an invoice/receipt with my wife. The description was left blank which means I have no hope of getting reimburse from Edison.
OK he diagnosed the problem ok, but v.lazy and unprofessional with the paperwork. Won't think I'll use these guys again. Beware of the discounts offered -this is bait & switch!!!!
I called them in November to fix a recurring short in our kitchen GFI circuit. The electrician gave me '3 options'. I have never had an electrician give me 3 options in my 65 year life. The only option i was interested in was the 'fix it' option. He starts out with $4,000 to install a whole new circuit to relieve overloading on the existing one. the second option was something less (I think i was in shock for a moment). The third option to fix the problem was $550. I was mad but said OK due to other time constaints. He was there an hour.
Last week i had him come back as the problem was not fixed. This time the first option was $20000 to rewire the entire house including landscape lighting which was causing the short through an outside outlet. Option 3 was over $900. I tried to negotiate using the excessive payment from the first visit with no success. So i gave him my option, which was to leave. A contractor friend installed a GFI on the outside of the kitchen outlet to separate the landscape circuit from the kitchen circuit. the problem outside still exists but now it only trips the landscape watering and lights.
I am a salesman and really was offended by their use of the 'make the lowest overpriced option look good by offering two higher ones first' approach. Do NOT use these guys.
Lately we experienced a partial power outage in our home and I called Express Electrical Service that afternoon because other companies had already closed for the day. Alex, a friendly and obviously very experienced electrician, came to our place, had me sign for a service fee of $129.98, and started to check what would be wrong. He could not find the problem and told me the troubleshooting, finding, and repairing the cause of the outage would cost $2250 or 2800(with certification) plus the service fee of $129.95 for coming. I did not accept their estimate and next day I called Garafano Electric, they came an hour later, did a very thorough and competent search for the problem, found it, improved some of the wirings and connections and charged for two hours of work $300. Everything's fine now. But forget Express Electrical Service - they are going to overcharge you!
They are a complete Rip Off. Do NOT use this outfit. All I needed was 2 ballasts, I had a box of bulbs to supply and they wanted $ 430.00 to do the job. I paid the $ 50.00 house call and got rid of them
These guys are literally a scam artists. They will overcharge you by 3 times the amount and will scare you into thinking you have a fire hazard. Use other electricians many to name that are looking to give you an honest work for honest pay. Buyer beware
I usually don't write reviews but in this case I think it is warranted. Express came to my home and gave me a bid for $700 to replace a breaker switch. I paid the bid fee of $50 and sent Wallace on his way home. I had another electrician give me a bid today....$150 including the switch....he completed the work in 30 minutes and was on his way. Did Express try to rip me off? Be careful out there folks, $700 for 30 minutes work is ridiculous.
These guys will show up in a hour or two, but what they will do is amount to selling you bottle water price gouging during a flood. If you have a emergency and no choice I supposed you can charge 3-4 times what it would normally costs. They will even scare you to thinking so when they come out, so no I would not recommend them and I had to pay 800$ to change 2 light switches to give you an idea of their prices, I also got quoted for 3 other things and when I compared they were 3 times as much as anybody else. So be forewarned.
Don't call these people. I called them and Wallace came out with no intention of getting my lights back on. He started taking pictures of everything with his tablet. He looked in the attic and opened up some electrical sockets and took more pictures. Then he went out to his van.
He returned with three quotes all over $10,000. I am sure if he wanted to truly help me he could of fixed it easily. They are looking for gullible people who believe them when they tell you that your entire house needs to be rewired. Its a ripoff.
I called another local electrician and he came out and fixed the problem in about 15 minutes.
