Worse Customer Service I've every seen
Made the Mistake of Paying off the job of electrical panels and upgrading outlets before Job was Complete. They didn't know that they must summit photos to PG& E and fill out and send the application to PG& E. They told me PG& E will just show up and reconnect . Not True you must setup an appointment once you past Inspection. They forgot to label the new panel , Inspector wouldn't pass my job until they came back out and label panel. Once PG&E came out and did the reconnect , We couldn't flip the power on until Express returned to disconnect old main line and move over to new Panel. Spoke to Both the Owner Clarence and His Son Clint and so told they would be at my House within an hour. 6 phone calls and 6 text message nobody showed up or returned my calls or messages. Had to hire another Electrical Company to come up so we could have power in our home that night. Whatever problem you may have "" NEVER EVER EVER EVER call this company for anything . Calling KRON, KPIX ,ABC and every outlet in the BAY to hi-lite this Unprofessional Company

I was a bit skeptical due to the 2 poor reviews from 2011 but the quote from Express Electric was very competitive. The City of El Cerrito required some permitted work done to be done for a rental. Since their work would be inspected by the City and they wouldn't be paid until that was completed, we took a chance.

They were very prompt and explained how they were going to make the corrections specified. They got the permits and started the work quickly. There were some unforeseeable issues that came up and Express Electric took care of them at no additional cost and finished in a few days. I'd definitely use them again.

Set up an appointment and the time window came and went with no electrician and no call. When I got in touch with them the lady said the electrician had an emergency (no one could call?). OK, emergencies happen, so we reset the appointment for they next day. Again, no electrician and no call. Now they don't answer their phone. Very annoying and unprofessional.

I have used Express for a number of years (along with other electric companies occasionally).
This company does the best work. Experts on older buildings. I've had to have them 'fix' the work of other electricians on a couple of occasions. Polite, super clean, professional; these guys show up to work, no warm fuzzies but, pleasant. Most people have problems with labor work when they attempt to 'time' the worker(s). Just get quote(s) and details of the work and make your choice. These guys provide high quality service.

Called this company off the internet, what a huge mistake. The technician came for my 2 plug problem in the bathrooms. My GFIC switch in both bathrooms stopped working. I replaced one GFIC plug myself, but still not working. Alex came over charged me $49.00 for the house call, plus another $5.00 to charge my credit card. Then he told me it would cost me $1200 to trouble shoot and fix my problem. HE said I probably put the plug in wrong and that I caused this problem.I told him to hit the road. I then called Ken Hansen Electric, who came over, looked around for another GFIC plug, which was out on my patio. He reset and tightend up that GFIC plug, and the problem was fixed! What a good guy, Ken Hansen. He fixed the problem in 15 mins. Don't ever call Express Electric, because you will be sorry.

We have been customers of Express Electric for over 30 years.
We recently needed upgrades to our electrical panels, outdoor security lights and recessed lighting installed. Once again we contacted Express Electric. Not because they are the only electric service company around, they aren't, but because they have a consistent, professional, prompt, thorough and efficient business practice. Their bids are reasonable and realistic, never suggesting services that truly aren't needed or necessary Before they leave, they review all work done, verifying that everything is working properly, and the work areas have been cleaned up. Two days after completion I received a follow up call from Clarence wanting to verify all was well.

Express Electric will remain our ""go to"" company.

Experienced and knowledgeable. Very fair price. Would recommend highly. When the inspector came by, he knew their work. They are up on current electrical codes. They don't attempt to talk you into doing more than what is needed. I hired Express Electric because of other work they have done. Has experience in residential and commercial work. I always try to hire local owned businesses.

I have been using Express Electric for 20 years and once again they come through with flying colors. I called the office around 8 AM and they were here and done by noon. They kept me posted on the progress, made recommendations for the future, did a great job relocating a circuit and their prices are fair.

Never again would I use these guys. They were nice enough, but installed a light that kept shocking me (!), did not clean up well then got defensive when that was pointed out, and installed a bathroom fan that completely fails to get the moisture out of the bathroom, which I now will have to pay a new electrician to replace. A sad vote of no confidence and a bunch of wasted money from me.
