Jason, at just 14, took on a part-time job during high school. His responsibilities included cleaning, stocking, and managing inventory at a local electrical shop focused on new residential homes. The next summer, the owner invited him to help with wiring homes alongside full-time electricians, and he eagerly accepted. This opportunity ignited his passion for the electrical field, resulting in a 5 1/2 year apprenticeship and three years of college studies. Today, Jason remains committed to staying current with electrical codes and certifications. Following his work with numerous contractors in the U.S. and California, Jason obtained a Maintenance Electrician III position at Kyocera Wireless, then moved to Qualcomm Inc. These positions refined his customer service skills and provided insight into the service side of electrical work, which he now delivers to the people of Southern California.
Jason is the owner and operator of Evolution Electric, based in Escondido, California. Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he retains a Journeyman Electrician License from that state, which he earned in 1999. In 2009, he achieved certification as an electrician in California and secured his electrical C10 contractor's license in January 2011. He has been doing small electrical jobs on the side for Qualcomm coworkers since 2007. His weekend and evening work created a strong customer base, which encouraged him to leave his full-time job and launch Evolution Electric. The name signifies the trend towards electrical conservation, generation, and storage using solar panels, batteries, and electric vehicles. He hopes to one day help people access free electricity to power their electric vehicles, reducing expenses and fossil fuel consumption.

Travis M.All I can say is WOW! Jason was great, and came to work on our place on short notice. We had a heating issue and I had a pretty good feeling it was a blown breaker. Jason confirmed and replaced the breaker. He even did a couple of self checks and cleaned up some of the wiring that had been aging behind the controller. Thanks Jason! I will be sure to give you a call for all future electrical needs.
Christine J.Evolution Electric & Solar is my new best friend! Three days before Christmas and our kitchen lights and dining room lights just stopped working. I think I called about six electricians before reaching Jason. He squeezed me in his busy schedule THE NEXT DAY, he came over to the house at 7:00 am. . . . that right there shows hustle and desire!
Our lighting problems stemmed from a ceiling fan/light that had been improperly installed. Jason and his helper spent time in the attic replacing junction boxes and bracing the fixture. Jason was here 3 and a half hours!! He even replaced a faulty dimmer switch in the entry way and added a four toggle light switch.
I thought Jason charged a very fair price, $375. for all his work :0]
The best part is that we have lights to cook by and we don't have to use candlelight for Christmas dinner. This experience just showed how much we take modern necessities for granted - like wonderful electricity.
I wholeheartedly recommend Jason at Evolution Electric.
We've had Jason out a few times for electrical needs. He's done a great job adding all sorts of new wiring and lighting to the exterior of what used to be our very dark house along with new outlets. He's professional, honest and does a great job. Next on the list will be adding some can lights and we look forward to having Jason back out to do that work as well!
Julie F.I called more than a dozen electricians before I found Jason at Evolution Electric and Solar, who seemed to be the only person in San Diego who would 1) work on a Saturday when I was actually home and 2) owned a 16' ladder (although he also has bigger ones), which was needed to hang a chandelier from the second story down to our dining room. When I called other companies, the few that did work Saturdays told me they would have to rent the ladder and charge me for that, plus the additional time and personnel to pick it up and drop it off. Some places wanted as much as $575 to do the job, claiming they need three guys for a ladder that big. Jason came with one extra guy, came on time, and did the whole job in 45 minutes for $115 by comparison. He was incredibly professional and even vacuumed up the tiny bit of dust created by taking the old chandelier off and putting the new one on. Jason, you have a customer for life! Thanks for the outstanding work. I will recommend you to everyone I know!
Bee P.This is a public thank you to Jason for responding immediately to our request to install the outlet we need for our new electric car. Thank you and we look forward to working with you in the future for all our projects requiring an electrician!
I called Evolution Electric to install security cameras in my house after viewing several happy customers' on yelp. Jason was very punctual, and got right to work. They had a large job due to very thick layers and tight spaces in my attic, but they knocked it out with no problem. They were very respectful of our house, always making sure that everything was quickly vacuumed so no insulation got on the floor.
Also, there were a couple of things that I didn't have to do the installation, and they went out of their way to get them on their lunch without any mark up.
Besides the fact of their respectfulness in our house, and the great job they did getting everything installed, their price was quite simply unbeatable. We looked around through other quotes and on Angie's List too, so I can tell you now that they have incredible pricing.
I would suggest them to friends and family without hesitation. They did a great job, and we are extremely happy customers!
Frances S.I called Jason because of the great reviews on Yelp and he sure lived up to the billing. I had a tricky switch problem and he spent the time to figure out exactly what was causing my issue. Not only did he solve the problem he found that my fans were not installed properly and remedied the situation. I had never met him before and had to go to work leaving him in the house on his own. When I came home, the place was absolutely as neat as I'd left it, the door securely locked and my ceiling fans/lights all working and whisper-quiet!
A great experience and I will definitely call him again for electrical issues.
Lou S.Based on the several glowing reviews here I tried to reach out to Jason to have him do some electrical work. Didn't receive a response to any of my texts/phone calls for several days later and ignored my attempts to reconnect. Went with CalRay and had an electrician out within a few days. Don't doubt he's a good electrician, but probably too busy for the small job I have.
David Z.Jason was recommended by my co-worker. He ran a home-run line all the way from opposite corners of a two story house for a jetted tub with minimal holes in our drywall. He performed a clean install for our master bedroom slanted ceiling fan. Ran an extra line into the attic for a future whole-house fan. Ran metal conduit and wiring from inside of the garage to the outside of the garage for spot lights. Ran conduit and wiring for the backyard patio lights. We were very happy with his quality of work.
Jen F.I found Jason on Yelp.
My mom had lined-up a different electrician (Green Electic Solutions) who wanted us to spend $2200 (which was originally $2600; but with 'disounts' it came to $2200) to replace bussing, the main, and breakers as well as trace out circuit to find loose connection/minor repar.
Jason (my new hero) came over and saved the day. He figured out how to utilize the good areas of the bussing, he replaced the bad breakers AND traced out the circuit to find loose connection for only $165. What a guy. It is so hard to find good help these days. I could go on and on about how great of a job Jason did. Hire him; he is honest, even-keyed and lightening fast/good at his job.
