We had a great experience with Estes from start to finish. Our initial team was Cody and Chase, then the install team was James and Patrick--each of them provided exceptional customer service. We required a furnace replacement and they made it a painless process. Cody and Chase explained all possible options to us and helped us make an informed decision we could feel good about. The install team arrived on time, worked quickly, and they even cleaned the area when they were finished. I look forward to working with Estes for years to come, and also recommending them to family and friends.

Not a good experience. We have an older furnace that was acting a bit flaky and the moment the tech arrived he started steering us to a complete new system. Wouldn't really discuss repair options and ended up leaving with the system turned off. Another fellow showed up Monday and promised an estimate ASAP since the system was and remains off. Days later and still no word. Definitely won't be working with these guys - from the start this felt like they really only presented replacement options but then never even delivered an estimate.

Update: finally received estimates after posting this review. Note that they were more expensive than one other that we have had worked up so far.

Response to owner comment below: thank you for the response and for taking the time to post your thoughts on this. What you say is true as far as how the first technician's visit unfolded, however, there were definitely more options than he was willing to discuss with me (new system is all we were given as an option as he shut our heat off). The best analogy I can offer is taking an old car with some immediate problems to the shop and being told there are not really any other options other than buying a new car.

I scheduled an in-home estimate with Estes to replace my AC and furnace. The salesman showed up on time and we went through about 90 minutes of current state evaluation/future state options. He gave me good information and promised a thorough report would be emailed in a few days.

It's now 2 weeks later and I'm still waiting on the estimate (which I understand is just not coming). Your salesman essentially provided a free consultation to help me in choosing one of your competitors that actually follows through.

Thanks for wasting my time, Estes.

Quick, competent, trustworthy - Estes kept my old furnace in as good shape as possible and when it became necessary, helped me with an affordable, sustainable replacement and reconfiguration of ductwork. I will rely on Estes for all of my heating and cooling needs

Very frustrated.

I called on Friday afternoon to report my AC unit was blowing warm air, and to ask for service the following day (Saturday). The dispatcher said a tech could come out between 9am and 12pm on Saturday. No problem.

Because I had my phone volume low, I missed the tech calling between 10:55 and 11:11 (he explicitly said ""11:11"" on his last message). They were calling, not to say they were on their way, but to ask if I still needed them to come by. That's odd. Okay. Sure. Maybe AC units magically fix themselves on a regular basis. Whatever. I called the number back by 11:15am and the dispatcher said they'd already moved on to another area. She offered to put me back on the schedule as the ""last visit of the day"" (no offer of a time range...I'm simply expected to sit around and wait at this point).

No thanks. I expected a *visit* between 9 and 12, not a call in the last hour of the scheduled window asking if i still needed service.

I'll call someone else.

Met with the Estes salesman(Chase)on Monday of this week. He went through my home examining my current configuration and quoted me on what I asked for and what he suggested. He explained the differences and options for the two different systems and answered all of my questions at the time. After leaving, other questions came to mind and were answered with a simple phone call. After reviewing the 5 quotes I received from other companies, I awarded the job to Estes. The quote from Estes was not the cheapest that I had received, however I felt that I would get value for my dollar in the long run. The install date was set and I received a call the day before informing me when the install crew would be out.

The following morning, the install crew consisting of David and Ryan arrived as promised, introduced themselves, looked over the job to be done and proceeded the installation with their knowledge, expertise, attention to detail and professionalism. They only encountered one minor problem which they quickly overcame with the support of the Estes home base. Approximately 5 1/2 hours after pulling into my driveway, they had removed my old equipment, replaced it with a Infinity System, gave me basic instructions on how the equipment works, and left my home in as good if not better shape then they had found it. Ryan and David are a credit to the Estes company.

Seeing how this is my first piece of Carrier equipment in my home, the verdict is still out on that issue. So far, so good. No regrets

After researching many local HVAC companies I chose to have Estes install a new furnace. The Estes salesman wrote a proposal for a two stage furnace. I did a search online and discovered that no furnace with the given item number existed. I contacted the salesman for clarification and was told that he thought I was talking about a two stage blower. We never discussed a two stage blower. I also learned that the size of the furnace was much smaller than the unit that I currently have. When I contacted his sales manager, he defended the misrepresentation as an error. The manager verbally committed to honoring the initial price for an actual two stage furnace. He wanted to schedule the installation, but had not given me a proposal reflecting the equipment and price. This was on a Friday, but I was told that I needed to wait until Monday. I emailed my concerns of having to wait two days to the owner of Estes. He responded that it was just a confusion and they would get me a revised proposal. I responded that I would review the proposal and consider my options. I also shared that I don't believe that this is the first time this has happened with Estes. He retaliated by stating that he was not pleased with my ""insinuation"" that Estes had mislead its clients and he withdrew the proposal. I found Estes to be unsupportive even with my documentation proving that I was knowingly misled.

the estes technician said it was going to cost me 3-4-5 thousand dollars to put in a new heating system in my house.i got one for $1600 installed(and it's the exact same btu's,the exact same efficency rating and the exact same brand as the one being replaced).i think that this estee's company used to be a company that you could trust(but this was many, many, many, many years years ago(20 to 30 years ago).my parents used to them when i was a youngster.

We have been an Estes customer for 10 years, have been very pleased with their customer service. Not any more. We have been without heat since New Years day. Our heat exchanger is messed up. Estes had to get one from Houston, furnace is an Amana still under warranty. It's been 9 days and we still have no heat and can't seem to get Estes to do anything about it. You would think Amana would have shipped it next day air, or Estes would have. Regardless it should have been here by now. Seriously thinking about calling WSB. We're cold. Will never recommend Estes again.
By the way we're 20 miles south of Atlanta, you would think Amana would have parts in Atlanta. 9 days, UPS can go across country in 5.

When I bought my house in 2008 as a new home owner, I had Estes come in and install a brand new Goodman system. Ever since installation I've happily paid Estes an annual fee to have my system serviced in order to maintain the 10 year warranty that it came with. (Only 5 on the labor).

The technician's have come out twice a year to do routine maintenance and several of those visits have required that they put freon into the system and I get charged roughly 30 bucks each time they have to do that. Not one time did a technician mention that this was due to a leak in my system and I had no idea that putting freon in regularly was NOT a normal procedure.

Naturally, after my 5 year labor warranty passed, a very nice technician proceeds to inform me that I have a freon leak he offered several options for simply identifying the leak (not repairing it) and these options for identification ranged from about $150 to over $1000 depending on the type of test needed to just identify the leak. Once identified, and depending upon the leak's location, I may have to replace my entire air handling unit for several thousand dollars just in labor, the part(s) would be free. He further stated that Estes had stopped selling Goodman systems because they were bad systems and were causing too many problems. Thanks, it's really good to know. I told him to put freon in the system and that I would weigh my options because unfortunately the nightmare gets worse.

This technician was not there on a routine visit, he was there because my system was not turning on and it turned out that was due to a ""clogged"" drain line and my emergency cut off float switch had activated. He was able to ""clear the clog"" and when he left my home was being cooled again.

Jump ahead a few months and one day I step on water on the floor and immediately look up to the ceiling. Having gotten a new roof and no rain in recent days this was truly a mystery. There was water dripping from my ceiling right above where the air handler is mounted in the attic. I got myself up there to see what was going on and not only was the emergency drip pan full but the ""float switch"" which the previous technician had removed in order to vacuum out the drain pan was not even on the drain pan. The float switch had just been left off to the side on top of the ceiling doing absolutely nothing for my system. It had probably been leaking for most of the time after the technician left because while it took some time for actual water to be on the floor, other smaller problems had cropped up that I now know are attributed to the water being slowly leaked into my walls. Baseboards have warped, drywall is water damaged, etc.

But it gets worse. This discovery happened on a Sunday and it took several heated phone calls to finally get Estes to come out and fix the problem, clear my drain pan and replace the float switch without charging me over $100 just to show up and fix the problem they created. But that many phone call endeavor at least paid off and after speaking with a ""manager"" on his off day, a technician came, vacuumed out the emergency drain pan, replaced the float switch, claimed he ""ran a whole gallon of water down the drain"" so it was clear now! He took pictures of my ruined drywall and told me someone would call me the following day and discuss those repairs. I have not gotten a call as of yet. But we aren't done with this roller coaster yet.

5 days after this guy had left and my system is not coming on again. I go up into my attic again and sure enough my emergency drain pain is completely full. Good thing the float switch was in place and turned the system off but why? Why is the condensation filling up my drain pan. I decide to do an investigation of my own because obviously Estes is incapable of truly figuring out the issue.

I do a careful inspection where the drain lines meet the system and something doesn't look right, it appeared as if there is a crack on something. So I take the side panel off the system in order to get a better look. This requires me to undo several hex machine screws and unscrew the drain lines, fairly basic stuff. Once I have the drain line removed and side panel removed, it's obvious, there are multiple cracks on the internal drain pan where the threading meets the drain pipes. The system was never clogged, the pan is cracked. I know enough about plumbing to know that these cracks are due to over tightening of the drain lines. Plastic pipes can crack along threading pretty easily when over tightened and because this problem cropped up after the float switch was left off, I'm betting the same technician is the reason the pan cracked when he cleared a likely genuine clog at the time but caused a bigger problem. It took me, a non a/c tech ten minutes to figure out my internal drip pan was cracked. I currently have a cracked pan and ruined drywall and baseboards. No word from Estes on repairs.
