This company was very responsive and quick to provide the servicing needed. I would've given 5 stars had it not been for the 100% markup of materials. I feel the markup was a bit excessive and although I understand the need to make money, charging 100% seems rather high-- I think 35% fair.

Very friendly and helpful however small job came in a little more expensive than I was expecting and what Angieslist lists as the average price for specific work performed. It's possible that I misunderstood the over the phone estimate. Then again, service was very convenient and friendly which perhaps justifies the the modest price difference.

I am highly recommending Nick Schaeffer for any type of work. He is very honest!!!
I called in because my outlets had shorted out. He went into detail on how to check a few things before they come out and charge. His advice worked! My problem was fixed!!! I called other electricians and only spoke to their receptionist breaking down the service calls fees. It's so hard to find honest companies, most of them want to take your money. It tells that Nick is very passionate about what he does. He is surely a great asset to this company. I am saving this companies information. WHEN I NEED A ELECTRICIAN NICK WILL BE THE ONE I CALL!! Needed a non-emergency but time-sensitive repair to a 240V dryer receptacle. Called the most heavily-advertised electrician in Dallas Saturday evening- advertising same day service- and was told that because this wasn't an emergency they would not come out, even after I offered to pay them the emergency fee. I then found ElectricMan, and instead of getting an answering service was surprised and delighted when the on-call electrician (Isaac) answered. He politely listened to my problem, and we arranged an appointment for Sunday morning. Isaac showed up exactly on time, quickly fixed the receptacle, and was a total professional. He had brought a new receptacle in case it was needed, and when I asked if he was planning to use it he told me that it wasn't necessary- he didn't try to sell me on it, just politely told me that my old receptacle was in perfect shape and didn't need to be replaced. I would recommend ElectricMan and Isaac to anyone!

The bottom line: this was a botched job and the company left my family holding the bag unless we paid to fix their poor work.

This was a classic example of a company doing a sub-par job. After they were done, they said it ""was the best we can do,"" and made us sign off on the work. The work was clearly incorrect, below standard, and an eyesore. Notwithstanding, they said if we did not let them go, they would just keep ""spinning the dial"" charging us by the hour (approximately $200/hr).

When we called their boss/supervisor for an explanation, he acknowledged the work was done incorrectly, but said that was ""all we can do"" without additional payment, and of course took the position we should not have let their employees leave.

Every bit of their work now needs to be removed, repaired, and replaced by a competent contractor.

I'm sure the company will come up with a response to this that sounds legitimate. I posted so I wouldn't look back and say I didn't warn people. You can be the judge.

My wife and I used ElectricMan to install recessed lighting and to relocate switches from one wall to another. The entire job went smoothly. The required drywall cutting was done cleanly making it easy for our painter to repair. I especially liked the fact that I was given the option for time and materials or time only. I was able to furnish the hardware and ElectricMan took care of the rest saving me $$ in the process. We will use again for future electrical project needs.

I first called The ElectricMan in the fall of 2012. My husband and I were in the process of purchasing a home and we wanted a thorough evaluation of the electrical system during the option period of the home buying process. Nick and Terry met us at the house and did a comprehensive ""electrical inspection"". This is something that I recommend to anyone before purchasing home. It is well worth the money. The information we gained from the inspection helped with the negotiations of the final purchase price. And it also gave us the opportunity to get to know Nick and his crew. We were definitely impressed and immediately hired them to upgrade the whole system once we owned the home. In October of the same year, Nick and his crew installed new electric service in our home, which included relocating the weather-head and new breaker box, running new dedicated lines, gfci's, smoke/co2 detectors, etc.. The crew did an incredible job. I was really impressed with their team work. They helped us stay on our budget by itemizing the bid and explaining everything as the job progressed. Everyone on the crew was great. They were knowledgeable, professional, friendly and hard-working. These guys love their job. Nick also recommended installing whole house surge protection. We agreed to add it and are extremely grateful. That little box saved us from a disaster. Six months later, lightening hit a tree in our backyard, traveled through our gas line into the house and destroyed our new gas furnace. But once the current from the lightening hit our electrical system the surge protector prevented it from doing any damage to the electrical system or our electronic appliances and components. Thank you Nick Schaeffer! Over the past 2 years, I have used The ElectricMan electricians many times during our ongoing renovations. They've wired our new kitchen and bathroom; installed new grounded outlets, switches, exterior outlets, and light fixtures throughout our home. I highly recommend Nick Schaeffer and all of The ElectricMan crew.

We recently installed new counter tops. Electric Man rewired the stove top, installed a new range hood, reset all the outlets in the kitchen for only $200 and did something else for free! Other companies like Milestone Electric charge $69 just to come out and give you an estimate. Electric Man did an outstanding job, were very porfessional and affordable.

""Master electrician"" Nick Schafer was sarcastic and demeaning with me trying to figure out how much some repair work would cost.

Glad he showed that side to me over the phone, because I suspect it would only get worse in person.
