Bill Cowherd entered the electrician apprenticeship program in Virginia in July 1963, and graduated in July 1967. From 1968 until his move to Florida in 1990, he operated an electrical contracting firm in Northern Virginia. After gaining experience at the Cape, he founded Bill Cowherd Electric in March 1994. In 1998, Bill Cowherd and Andrew Hunt came together to form Electrical Energy Systems. Tragically, Mr. Hunt passed away in February 2012, and Bill Cowherd has carried on the business since then.

William's journey in the electrical sector began at the age of six. After attending Penn State, he engaged in the Virginia Electrical Apprenticeship program for four years, working for the family business in 1963. After completing his apprenticeship, he has continued in the electrical industry to this day.
