Was in need of a competent electrician to address a partial circuit outage that affected only about half the power feeds on a single AFCI circuit. Some Light switches and outlets worked some didn't. Home built in 2004 when Codes for AFCI type breaker installs were fairly new. At that time only Bedrooms were required to have AFCI type circuit breakers. This home had 2 Bedroom areas on AFCI circuits. After executing routine problem isolation troubleshooting the Electrician identified a failed outlet that showed physical signs of overheating. AFCI Breaker should have tripped before resulting in this level of Electric Outlet failure. So Electrician preceded to check all outlets and switches on this circuit to verify no others showed any signs of failure. At this point 2 part replacement needs identified. 1 outlet and 1 AFCI Breaker. 2nd AFCI Breaker did not trip when test button pressed. Conclusion is both AFCI breaker, 14 years old 1st generation models were compromised and in need of replacement.
So far 5 star service...Electrician was excellent.
I do not have a problem with vendors marking up parts to a certain extent and charging a reasonable labor rate for their expertise that helps cover their over head with a decent profit charge built in....It's how the economics of any specialized service business works.
However the quoted installation + part + (warranty?) Final Quoted installed cost per AFCI was $267 each x 2. Time to install both after tech returned from supply house was 20 minutes.
He did not have in stock on his truck. I'm ok with some time being factored into obtaining the part.
The cost of the Eaton 15 amp AFCI circuit breaker runs around $25 to any consumer online.
So the installed cost was a 10 x factor which by any measure seems excessive. Average Top end Labor cost for a skilled Electrician is around $130. Cost of Parts was no more than $50.
A Reasonable Max charge for replacing these 2 AFCI breakers should have been in the $180-200 range. Amount charged and paid was $534. I knew I was being way overcharged for that part of the service but decided that I did not want to delay the work to shop for a more reasonable rate as the affected area involved a space occupied by an infant. I'm at a point in life where I prefer to let others learn lessons from my experiences. The Vendor should already know that short term profit gains are no substitute for long term repeat business and word of mouth advertising. Although Electric Pros had decent reviews, which is why I selected them, I will likely look for another vendor when I contract for some additional upcoming work.
Unfortunately I will also not be able to provide a positive recommendation for this Vendor to local Homeowners Associations and a large local Real Estate companies preferred vendors list.

I called to get an estimate for installing two dimmer light switches at an existing outlet serving as a junction point. I repeatedly asked the phone rep for a ballpark estimate over the phone or any ballpark estimate for a simple job - to give me an idea of their hourly rate and what it might cost. She refused - stating only the electricians can quote prices and they can't do that until they are onsite. I was also told there would be a $49 service fee for the visit, regardless of whether I get any work done or not. The guy comes onsite and doesn't have a clue what to do with the dimmer switches that I purchased for him to install, and asks if he can borrow my laptop to surf the web looking for information on it. Even worse, he is under the impression that he and I are hangin out and proceeds to waste my time talking about his plans for the weekend, and how I should check out this spot or that spot. At the end of all of this - he quotes me $1,000 to install dimmer switches. UNBELIEVABLE! $1000?!?!? Responding to my shock, he tells me that the cheapest light switch would cost $50-$60 to install per fixture. REALLY?!? WELL WHY THE HECK DIDN'T YOUR PHONE REP JUST CITE THAT JOB PRICE FOR A BASIC LIGHT SWITCH AND I WOULD HAVE IMMEDIATELY EXTRAPOLATED THAT YOU GUYS CHARGE WAY MORE THAN I WANTED TO PAY FOR THIS JOB?!?!? $50 for a service fee; $50 wasted for NOTHING. I got absolutely NOTHING useful out of this guy's visit to my house. Just pure frustration. Will never bother to call these guys again for any job. They don't care about doing right by the customer or being courteous, just padding their bottom line.

Highly recommend Electric Pros! I can not say enough good things about this company, the owner and his employees. They were able to schedule the job in my home for the next day and gave me a fair and reasonable quote for the work. The electrician called before coming and was on time. He was courteous and explained to me what he was going to do to fix our breaker problem. We are extremely satisfied, a big thanks to Electric Pros

Had some dead outlets. GFCI is tripping and cannot be reset. Searched on HomeAdvisor and hired Electric Pros.

They charged me $125 for a 5-min inspection and asked $600 more for the replacement of all receptacles on the same circuit. I said no thanks.

Turns out that their inspection was BS. I solved the issue by myself.
All devices are good. It's just that some GFCIs are hard to reset. Push the button firmly with a screw driver, hear the click, and the power restores.

Electric Pros' electrician knew very well about this, but he didn't even try it and just want to gouge the customers with unnecessary repairs. Way too greedy.

You get the idea...just stay away from this company, or the whole HomeAdvisor BS.

I went on HomeAdvisor to find them. My appt was scheduled and I received a confirmation email with the date/time. Here I am and my appt was at 11 and no one shows up. I call around 12:45 and speak to a gentlemen who says he'll have the tech call me with an ETA. Yet, he doesn't take down my name/number. I'm thinking maybe he was using caller id and figured it out. I wait, and still no callback. I call again around 2:30 and leave a message. At 3:00 pm a lady calls me back and says they just didn't have me on the schedule until Monday. Unreal. Very disorganized and extremely unprofessional!!

I was in the process of moving and since Electric Pros seemed to be in my area I decided to call to set up a removal of my chandelier, and replace it with a ceiling fan. My worse mistake I ever made. I called them a week prior, and everything seemed to be ok. The day of install I called them to get an ETA, and the woman said they are running late. Ok, no problem. I waited over 2 hours, and I get a call from the electrician himself (Clint Thompson) saying he's going to be late. I give him some slack because I know some jobs may be longer than others and he says he'll contact me when he's on his way. So I waited, and I waited.... by this time I get a call saying ""oh I didn't realize you are in downtown, it's going to be 2 hours before I can get there, I'm afraid we need to reschedule."" I clearly didn't have time to reschedule another week out, as he said would be his next available. I stated to him I needed it done today! He proceeded to chuckle and said it wasn't possible for him to come today, even though I made appointment a week ago and could not reschedule for another week. He said he would call me back to reschedule for the next few days if available and still have not received any call back. This is the worse, unorganized, and unprofessional company I've ever contacted! Avoid this place at all cost! You'll be waiting on them, if you have all the time in the world to wait for a company who doesn't show up and reschedules on you this is your company.

They came out and replaced a circuit breaker panel over the weekend on quick notice. The technician was very nice and worked quickly. The 2300 for panel replacement was a little on the high end. They do not do drywall repair, however, so I will need to hire someone to repair the 3 inch gap. Also they charged 325 to pull a permit which I did not notice on the invoice until it was too late. I would have done it myself had I known that was how much they charged and I feel a little bit taken advantage of on that part. I had to call them a couple weeks later because they never bothered to pull the permit after charging me such an exorbitant rate.

I hired them to do some electrical trouble shooting and fixtures replacement. They never called or showed up. I called their office and they told me they will send a technician, but no one came!
