We hired Mike to install a ceiling fan in our living room, where there was no electrical wiring. Mike arrived on time and quickly completed the job. Mike took the time to make sure our living room was completely covered in plastic before starting the job. He did minimal cutting of the dry wall to run the wires. He updated the switch to include the controls for the ceiling fan. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. We are very happy with his work and would definitely hire him again! He did not patch the drywall, but he told us ahead of time that he does not generally do that. My husband is capable in completing this work so it was not a big deal for us. His prices are extremely reasonable and he was able to come on the day we needed him. We plan on hiring him to do more work very soon.

Mike (Mircea) and his crew did an excellent job in upgrading the electrical and the installation of the new switches and outlets. They did the demolition & clean-up of the walls that were necessary to run the new electrical wiring for the outlets, switches, and ceiling lights. There was a long lag between the rough installation of electrical which passed the initially inspection to when it was ready for the final inspection due to delays not related to the electrical work. Once it was ready for the final inspection he scheduled finishing the electrical work in a very reasonable time frame. He is an excellent electrician, he and his crew are nice to work with and made sure the work that was done would pass inspection.

Unreliable, difficult to get in touch with, and unprofessional.
After giving us a bid on some electrical work, Mike told us his schedule was booked for the next six weeks. Because we had gotten a recommendation from a neighbor, and because he had given us the lowest price, we said we could wait six weeks and planned on him completing the work then.
Now, about a week before we thought he was going to come, he emailed to say that he suddenly can't do the job for us after all.
He has always been slow to respond by email, phone, or text - if he responds at all. A responsible professional would be more communicative and would tell us up front if he can't take on a job. Very disappointed the he has wasted so much of our time.

Mike was fixing the burned out electrical outlet in our house.
He is fast and efficient ... I will use him again for my electrical work.

We hired Mike through Angies list for 8 hours of electrical work. We needed some recessed lights installed in our kitchen and replace some old switches and sockets. Mike arrived promptly , my husband started the project of installing some pendant lights over our kitchen island - three weekends later he got two of the holes cut and ready - after spending much time in the attic (not a pleasant experience) Mike came in and let my husband know there was a much easier way to do this - he completed all three of the pendants and then proceeded to install four additional recessed lights in our kitchen - replacing the switches with GFI dimmable switches and replacing all the kitchen electrical outlets as well as the all the bathroom ones with new GFI outlets. And he never needed to go into the attic- amazing - he was fast and efficient -and the finished product was amazing - One of my pendant lights were defective and we needed to order a new one - Mike volunteered to stop by once we received the new one and install it free of charge . Before he left we talked out our family room lighting - it was very dark all the time- Mike suggested to install 4"" recessed lights in the ceiling - 3 adjustable spots so we could direct them to items we wanted to show - My husband didn't think it was possible to install recessed lights in this room but Mike measured it out and said he could do it - We scheduled him to come for the following Saturday to do the job -once again he did a fabulous job - it made such a difference in what I used to call the ""cave"" room - And with the dimmers we can adjust the lighting to whatever our needs are - and the 3 adjustable recessed lights are great -
We highly recommend Mike - he is knowledgeable in his craft and is fast and efficient and well as courteous. We plan on using Mike again to do some additional electrical jobs in our bedrooms and formal living room
Great Job Mike

He flat out refused to help me. What a rude thing to do, I was nothing but kind to him if he wasn't going to help me why did he take my list of issues and my email address to send an estimate. Does he not have the nerve to say no to a woman? I have money pal!

I was looking to hang three chandeliers from my 17-foot high ceilings and was having trouble finding anyone who would. I didn't have electricity going to the ceiling, and to make matters worse, I live in a condo without ceiling access. After several people turned me down for the job, Mike came through.
Due to the height of the ceilings, Mike and his crew had to assemble scaffolding in my home. He took extra care and precaution to ensure that the hardwood floors weren't scratched. Mike was also extremely communicative and easy to work with throughout the process and explained everything he had to due to ensure the job was done to code.
In just one week's time, the wiring, sheet rock repair, painting, and hanging of our three chandeliers was complete. Check out the photo section to see them :-) I cannot stress enough what a high quality and professional job Mike did.
I highly recommend Mike and look forward to collaborating with him on future projects!

Mike is awesome! He installed a ceiling fan and did an amazing job. Prompt, affordable, and a great guy. I have a go-to electrician now!

Mike, the owner of Elco Bay Area, is fantastic -- this guy rocks the house. I own 3 properties in the east bay, and I've used a lot of contractors over the years, and Mike is one of the best. He's very responsive (both over the phone and email), he gets the work done fast, and he's reasonably priced. He can do repairs of any kind, as well as remodels. I highly recommend him for any repair or remodel needs that you have.

Mike did a fantastic job remodeling one of our bathrooms. We selected him because he's an electrician, among other things. Also, his pricing was very competitive. I'd already selected the tile, and he met us at the tile store so we could get the contractor discount of 15 percent. Mike kept us in the loop and consulted with us every step of the way to ensure we got what we wanted. He conducted himself with honesty and integrity. He was goal-oriented and got the job done in a reasonable amount of time. His tile man, Doinel, was a perfectionist. We are extremely pleased with the results and recommend Elco Bay Area without reservation.
