We bought a new home in Tracy and needed recessed lighting throughout. I found E&J Valley Services online and gave them a call among a few others. Eric was quick to get back to me and even showed up at my house that same day to give me an estimate. No run around. He showed up on time exactly when he said he would. Not only did Eric & Jose give us a phenomenal price they were super easy to talk to and had obvious knowledge of lighting and electrical work. These guys worked their rears off over a span of a few days to install about 60 brand new LED lights in our home. Not only did they have to cut new holes in the ceiling and crawl through our tight attic space to do so but they also found an amazing way to match the few existing lights with the new ones. After removing a few old lights we realized the holes in the ceiling were too big for the new lights we had. Eric and Jose got custom rings made for us so that we could install the new lights into the old wider holes. Anyone else would have told us that we have to order larger lights by a different brand (which would have made the light tones different) to complete the job but not these guys. We really appreciated the extra mile they went for us. They installed new dimmers, moved some ceiling fans for us and literally never said no to anything we asked. We HIGHLY recommend Eric and Jose if you want reliable, honest and flat out great work! Thank you guys!

I am so relieved to have found E&J Valley Services. They picked up when I called, listened to a quick run-down of the many issues I had, and gave me a time frame for when they could come out---and it was same day. They handled each issue quickly, efficiently and effectively. They communicate well. Eric and Jose were very responsive at the start of everything. They called me the first day I posted for electrical work on Yelp and was able to come out and assess or house the next day. Their price was very competitive comparing toward other companies. The initial job just to check our outlets since our house was running older wire and could be fire hazard in the future. The were able to retrofit all of the receptacles as well as troubleshoot some of the outlets that were not working. In the process they found a safety hazard in one of the light switches where two cables melted and was outputting 220V see in the pictures. Good thing they caught this. This could have cause us a fire down the line or worse. Eric was able to work with us on the pricing and was very understanding. They were able to work and with us when we were working from home. They had their mask on at all times and wore booties through the house. We are glad we found honest and upfront contractors. We plan to have them work on house down the line. Thank you.

We had a couple of recessed and pendant lights installed throughout the house and they all turned out great. Jose and his crew are excellent! They were very professional, communicated well, worked efficiently and delivered on schedule.

I would definitely hire them again for future projects.

I requested for the service in January - Jose called me and got an appointment on the same day. I was happy about that. My original request was for the electrical inspection because I was doubting that there may be other underlying issues that burnt 2 of the receptacles at my condo.

Jose didn't find any fault in my circuit breaker and diagnosed that it was because the burnt receptacles are not aluminum rated and that my tenant was using way too much electricity. So, he replaced both of them with aluminum rated outlets within about half an hour for $620 + 3% credit card fee. I felt it was pretty expensive but he explained that it was mainly because of how messy it was for him to clean it up.

He offered to come back for an additional inspection of the rest of the outlets for a cheaper price. He said he wasn't able to inspect the rest that day because of how messy my condo was. I didn't feel like it was a professional comment to make.

Well...another 2 receptacles stopped working the very next day.

I ended up calling another company and they educated me about everything in details. I ended up requesting to add dedicated circuits for the microwave and fridge. Now, there's no more problem!

I wish Jose diagnosed the underlying problem instead of making the quick money on just replacing the receptacles.

I had them come out to do a big job for my backyard. I needed all of the low voltage wiring ran all over my backyard, lights in the cement, led light strips under my firepit as well as under a few other structures.

Jose came looked at everything and I told him exactly what i needed and I showed him the blueprints that I drew. Him and Eric were very confident and Eric just kept bragging about all the jobs he's done. So I chose them to do the job since they were new a business and wanted to help out. That was the huge mistake on my part, lesson learned.

Anyhow, long story short, towards the end after running the lines where they needed to be we poured the cement and afterwards that's when the problems started. They didn't properly secure the pvc pipe running to my firepit so that had moved several inches forward and I had to find someone to help conceal it because it supposed to be flushed with the structure. The lights in the cement some were up and down so Jose charged me extra to straighten them out even though it was his job to make sure everything was properly fixed in the first place. In the beginning, we made a deal that they would be there when the cement was being poured so they can adjust whatever came out of place but they never did.

They left their trash everywhere and didn't finish the job fully. They didn't even attach my led strips so I had to hire someone else to do that. Jose got really combative with me regarding payment. It got extremely loud and rude and it was really embarrassing because my neighbors could here. They took the materials I paid for and bought even more claiming it was all needed. When Jose asked for payment even though the job wasn't done I told him I wanted to make sure everything worked and he got really upset and that's when I previously stated that he got loud, he squared up to me like he was going to do something and said he wasn't leaving my house until he got paid. Very unprofessional and again, really embarrassing.

Anyhow, the 5 star reviews on here are about them doing small jobs like fixing outlets which I think is probably the best they can do. I wouldn't hire them for a huge job.

My smoke detectors were going off and on for 2 days. I had left messages for a few companies and after 2 hours of waiting with that piercing sound, I sent a request for a few companies in yelp. I was grateful Jose responded so quickly. He was friendly and able to come out in the afternoon. I also needed pendant lights put in my kitchen. Jose and Eric showed up and did such a great job! They make a great team and both very professional and knowledgeable. I will be calling in the future for sure!
