You better hope that this company never does any damage to your home that has to be reported to their insurance company because the owner John L will not submit to his carrier. In fact he told his client to send to your homeowner's carrier and have them subrogate against my company.

I am an insurance agent for a client that this just happened to. So I called John A to see if she was correct in saying that he refused to submit the water damage claim to his company.

To my surprise when I did just speak to John A he did confirm that he was not going to submit his water damage to this client to his own insurance carrier and then proceeded to hang up on me. I have been in the insurance business since 1979 and this is a first for me.

So if this is the response you want from this company when they damage your home you are at the right place then.

Thank you E H Whitson, Thank you Al, Allison and Lilly, so we had a TECO natural gas tankless water heater installed 3 years ago bt Around the Clock Gas Service, Hialeah Gardens, not only did they not want to service my warranty, they wanted to charge me $149!!! I called EH Whitson and they came right out, gave me instructions to contact TECO, and the very next day, we no longer have to take cold showers and TECO paid EH Whitson, great customers service, and they care!

If you are reading this then you are already ahead of the game. I made the mistake of using them for a large home improvement.
Please look at their reviews and consider calling someone else first.
The owner is a friendly older man but once you sign on the dotted line you will never hear or see from him again.
It's been a nightmare for me. I wish I could rate negative stars.
They are very hostile and rude on the phone. They do not back up their work like they say.
Just another Florida company ripping off decent customers.
They are not a part of the BBB for a reason.

you need to stay away form this company. We hired them on the recommendation of Teco gas to install a pool heater and tank less water heater. They did not pass inspection on anything the first go around on the Plumbing or Electrical . After they told me to go pay the re inspection fee they would come back I told them no , Its was there fault they did not pass inspection.. So they paid the fee to the city and the inspector came out again, HA HA the plumbing passed and the Electrical failed. Called again and they said they would take care of it. They called me back and said it was done and they got the approval. Now a month later the Pool heater will not work because their electrician blew the 2000.00 unit and I called the city for permit information and they lied when they said the permit was closed. Now they want 95 per hour plus parts to fix what they messed up. Guess I have to go to court on this one STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS

Time after time in a crisis. Since 2001, I call year after year for my a/c maintenance. Calling in you're greeted by a friendly, efficient person. Morning or afternoon? Then call with 20 min heads up tech is on the way. Knowledgeable and speak in layman's terms, fast, friendly and most of all HONEST and straightforward. Just left and I am so relieved I don't have to worry about being bamboozled. These folks have maintained a reputable business. Highly recommend E.H. Whitson. Try them!

They did decent work but made a huge mess and did not clean up. Don't expect to have a finished look when they are done. Their work seems to have more of an industrial look.

Their workers are not hired for their personality to say the least and the two that came over were not good representatives of the company, or maybe they were, depending on what type of image they are trying to project.

If you use them, even for the smallest job, MAKE SURE you get an estimate IN WRITING.

Just experienced the worst customer service and price gouging I have ever encountered with any company.

Our story: Recently, our capacitor needed replacement on our Air Conditioning unit. Capacitors generally cost $35 to $60, and our particular capacitor is quoted at $35 retail. The E.H. technician came out and replaced the capacitor in about 20 minutes. E.H. Whitson then presented us with a bill for $85 service fee for time + $175 for the capacitor, for a total charge of $260.

When my wife called up the company to inquire about the exorbitant price charged for the capacitor (which retails for around $35), a representative at E.H. Whitson screamed at her (evidently he wasn't used to a customer who wasn't in the mood to get ripped off ). The E.H. Whitson rep then instructed the technician, that if my wife refused to pay the total amount, the technician should immediately remove the capacitor they installed, (thereby breaking our A/C) and charge us $85 anyway. He then threatened my wife that if she refused to pay the $85 fee even after he removed the capacitor, he would report her to collections agency immediately. Shaken and confused by such reprehensible behavior, which resembled what in most other circumstances would be labeled a ""stick-up"", my wife agreed to pay the entire $260 bill.

Subsequently, another E.H. Whitson employee came by our house for the same call (they usually send 2 people out on each call, but the work was done so quickly this time the 1st technician left before the 2nd technician even arrived). My wife explained to the 2nd technician what happened and showed him the final bill. He agreed that the total charge for replacing the capacitor seemed too high and that the total price should have been $175 for both the capacitor and the service fee.

As is evident, there was no basis for the E.H. Whitson representative to scream and threaten my wife with collections, when she questioned the final bill, which was obviously erroneous (or a blatant attempt to rip off my wife). Furthermore, I do not think it is proper for a rep to instruct a technician to damage our A/C simply because we questioned why the price of the material was 5X suggested retail. In fact, one wonders what E.H. Whitson will do now that a customer is complaining? Finally, it is illegal to threaten collections simply because a customer questions what is a clear case of price gouging. It is also reprehensible to threaten damage to a customer's property, in the event that a customer questions the price of a service, especially when the customer is a long-time client in good-standing.

And while I understand that everyone needs to get paid for their time and efforts, that's precisely why E.H. Whitson charges a $95 service fee. It is unethical and illegal to price gouge customers on materials and then threaten collections when customers inquire about a price of a material, especially long-term customers.

Terrible experience with electricians. Pleasant people sloppy work! Same with the plumbers. In both cases I had to have them return to fix what was left sloppily in one case and leaking in another. Would not recommend the organization.

E H Whitson AC , plumbing and electric has been providing excellent, efficient service to us for about 5 years. The staff has always been professional, yet warm and friendly. They actually arrive at the promised time, work quickly and keep you informed of what they are doing along the way. In 2008 they installed new AC compressors, ductwork and provided helpful advise about the most efficient use of the system. They have repaired a refrigerator, installed a dishwasher and done plumbing work for us over the years; we have been 100% satisfied with every transaction.

The owner of EH Whitson, John Lipka, has shown his commitment to the community by his frequent, generous donations of service and supplies to various charitable organizations. John's contributions to the Hollywood Women's club have helped to insure the success of the restoration of the 1927 clubhouse, which is a National Historic Site and a Hollywood Landmark.
