TECO requires that you use their contractor to install an energy saving on-demand water heater. This was the person in our area.
It was not worth the discount.
They scheduled installation months in advance. When they didn't show up, they didn't just come the next business day, they rescheduled me for two months later; when they could not locate a line (I showed them where it was), again, another rescheduling to the distant future, which would've ruined Thanksgiving and the rest of the holidays.
I had to telephone TECO to complain about a three month installation of a water heater. That got their attention and they came back.
They left the power cord hanging in the breeze. vulnerable to any hedge trimmer and inspection failed. basically, there were five trips for a single water heater installation and they deprive me of hot water in my house for all of that time.
Pay the extra $200 and don't go crazy waiting for people unconcerned with timely Service to get around to schedule your house
My building management company hired e.h. Whitson for fixing a gas leak. They were scheduled to come at 12, didn't show up until 330 and then were gone before 530. They showed up the next day and said they fixed a gas leak. They came in my unit and turned on the gas and I told them I smell gas now and they shrugged it off and said it's all fixed. I explained my pet has a breathing issue to please make sure and they assured me I was safe. I didn't trust them THANK GOD and I was lucky enough to be able to bring my cat to my parents house just in case. 10 hours later I got home from work and the smell of gas was so bad, you could smell it outside the front door. Inside was just terrible, I couldn't stand inside for more than a few minutes to gather some belongings and get out. You assured me! You put my life and pets life completely at risk! No regard for life what so ever. The next day, a different guy (same company) came back to fix it. I tried to tell him that I was assured the day before so please please make sure and he was very defensive and ""couldn't comment on the guys work yesterday"" like um ok I'm trying to just triple check as anyone should because you don't play with a gas leak! Thanks for being so negligent lives were put in danger. Consider yourselves lucky I didn't take your word!
We came home from a trip to find our electricity out.
We called E.H. Whitson and an electrician was here within 2hours!
Our main breaker needed replacing and unfortunately it meant the entire panel had to be replaced and upgraded, but they came the very next day and did the work quickly and professionally! Not cheap, but extremely competent and pleasant! Will definitely use them again and again!
Horrible thieves. They steal peoples money under the guise of doing work. They wanted $780 to clean the coils of a unit that we had a maintenance contract with. No other company has ever charged that much. They are dishonest and have NO customer service skills. Do not recommend if you are looking for a reliable and honest company to do your AC work. Look elsewhere. THIEVES are in abundance in south florida. Keep looking if you're looking for an honest and reputable company. This is NOT IT.
If you need reliable service in a timely manner, DO NOT use EH Whitson. We have been loyal customers for years. EH did not come out, as they promised, to fix our thermostat. We waited a week. When I asked if they could squeeze us in on Saturday, their response was yes but we would have to pay the emergency fee. So much for loyalty. There are too many other AC companies out there that do much better work and have excellent customer service.

I am very disappointed by the service I received. Change A/C in july 2020. Since day one Icomplain about the A/c not cooling properly. Keep calling for month with no satisfaction. 3 month ago A/C stop working. They changed fan since it was still under warranty but they charge $675.00 to replace it in a 5 minutes work. Again,the same problem after 3 month. The part is not available, I have to wait 14 days o more. The other alternative is to send a technician to come to my house to remove the motor to take it to another retailer to buy a new one. The labor to remove the motor will cost $ 125.00 an Hour and we are looking at 3 hours to remove it, then another 3 hours to 4 hours to put it back plus the price of the motor. I am not recommending their services anymore. They don't know what is customer service and I am surprise they get a 3.3 rating on a scale of 5. One will describe them better. Nightmare!1*
Horrible service, took forever to come to my home and did not fix my AC properly. I would not recommend this company to anyone!!
We contacted E. H. Whitson Service as our previous condo owner had used them.
We were reassured by their tenure of business and were more than satisfied with the service we received.
We made an appointment and the appointment was kept promptly. They contacted us prior to arriving as promised.
Jason was our HVAC technician. He was very professional, explained everything to us, and tried and went over and above to get our unit to work as is.
When he realized our unit needed to be replaced he took the time to explain everything to us and contacted E. H. Whitson directly. Jason is not only a great technician but really understands customer service.
We're extremely satisfied.
Each time I contacted E. H. Whitson Service, whether I spoke with Ashley, or Martin, or John, they explained everything to us so we understood what was going on. They were accommodating with any request or schedule change we made and were very patient with us.
They are well-known to our condo board and our condo board is knows EH whitson and is comfortable working with them for any repair.
I am extremely satisfied with the service both in the office and in the field and will use them for all of our air conditioning, electric, and plumbing repairs in the future.
ELECTRICAL THIS OLD HOUSE HOLLYWOOD HISTORIC DISTRICT : I emailed, info@ehwhitson, a photo of the defective switch, John Lipka the owner called me, said he would have to order it. Called back, set up appointment. He saved a diagnosis trip, for something he could order.
Chris arrived 5 minutes early, masked up, He reviewed our entire electrical system in our 1940's Hollywood home. Was very professional and is going to quote some much needed repairs to stop our lights flickering and power outages. Described one problem is our old dimmer switches do not support the LED bulbs, and replaced switch and it worked perfectly. Perfect fit, impressed that they worked from photo.
I look forward to working with a local contractor, here in Hollywood.
They are also recommended by others living here.

Very disappointed to say the least. Tried to give them the benefit of the doubt from the start as my experience was not ideal from the beginning. First off, nobody in this company is on the same page. I have to say most of my phone calls with these people were to remind them they had a prospective customer... meanwhile there was always shouting in the background as the woman always ""wrote me down"" for someone to call me back. While I have to say that they do offer fair prices, that is about the only good thing about my experience. There is a serious mismanagement and miscommunication issue here. It is embarrassing when they show up on install day not knowing what is supposed to be done and not having any of the proper equipment or measurements and being unaware what was even on the proposal/ quote given to me. I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 because Allison refunded my payment so quickly in a condescending tone with no apology for all the inconvenience for paying them to come out on a day that I could be working but instead I dealt with incompetence.
