This is the second person EH whitson has sent to do the job and I am beyond shocked about how this company is in business. I will be reporting them to the BBB.

The technician they sent out today arrived extremely intoxicated and smelled strongly of alcohol.

I didnt realize until he was in my apt and I felt extremely unsafe being along with him. I told him maintenance was coming to bring him a ladder and he sat down on his bucket he brought and completely passed out in my apartment. The guy was wasted.

I reported to my property manager that the guy was drunk and he apparently called EH whitson in the meantime and they apparently called him and asked him to pick up his stuff and leave my apartment. THANK G-d for that as I felt extremely uneasy being alone with this now passed out drunk, who was supposed to be from a reputable company.

Finally my property manager arrived and had a new tech from this same company and when I told him what happened, he said I am not the first person to make this complaint and the company was AWARE he had an alcohol problem. WHAT??? How do they keep someone like this employed, driving a company vehicle and showing up to people homes while being an alcoholic. He said, ""Well I think the owner John just feels bad for him, they know he has an issue."" I am sorry but this is unacceptable. He could have killed someone on the road, he could have hurt me, or caused damage to my appliance or in the building, this is a huge liability and will be taken up with the BBB and I expect a call from the owner to apologize and confirming this guy is no longer employed by your company.

The first guy they sent out- Lennie, showed up, did nothing and then wrote an invoice for $97 and I told him I was told it would be around $59. He said ""it would be $59 if I need regular maintenance and you need much more than that"" and I said well you didn't even run maintenance on the machine, you checked a valve. And he then called his company and I got the fee reduced to $62. He also complained to me, and also to my lobby attendant that he had to pay $2 for valet. He raised his voice saying this is the first time as a contractor he had to pay for valet and he was taking that out on me.

It's really unprofessional that he tried to take advantage of the situation like that and still the problem is not solved.

NEVER USE THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY... BEWARE!

We have used these folks for years and they were usually very good. But something has changed. They could not handle basic air conditioning repairs and they quoted one price for a gas repair and did not advise that the price was going up. When they asked to be paid which we did it was two and half times more expensive. Be very careful with these folks.

Came home Thursday afternoon, A/C unit was a solid block of ice. Called and left a message after hours to set up an appointment and sure enough, received a phone call by the friendly and professional staff by 7 am the next day asking if 8:30 am would work for me! Sean showed up, and within a short amount of time was able to determine the issue, replacement cost, and labor. It was agreeable, and I paid by cc and left the job to him.

Now, here is where my 5 star rating, and review, is justified. You see, I've known John the owner for a number of years, and although the opportunity to use his company hadn't been there since I've known him, I cold called the business to repair the unit. Upon returning, I discovered the job had turned out to need two technicians and involved quite a bit of more labor than anticipated-definitely more than the estimate I was given. Was a pleasant surprise to be told, ""nope, we quoted you a price and that's what the price is. We stand by it."" Sean, the second tech Mike, stayed on the job until the job was done and done right. Also met the Supervisor (sorry, the name escaped me) who stopped by to check on the now complicated job. Wonderful professionalism. I looked over the unit after they departed and I was impressed with the care they took and work product they produced.

Overall, very pleased with the company. John, your employees are a reflection of your business, and they are representing your brand well.

I made an appointment with them to change my water heater. Supposed to be at noon. Called them at 1:00 and they said they were running behind but would call before they came out. Unannounced some salesman showed up at 4:15 at my house without calling. No customer service skills here. I asked him to leave as I already called another contractor.
Read the reviews on these guys before they stick it to you.

Don't call them if you want to pay a lot of money for a small job. $195 for a leaky faucet. I wish I had looked up these previous reviews ahead of time. I called to complain and they could not have cared less, they obviously are not interested in repeat business. Will never call them again. You'll be better off looking for any other plumber.

You better hope that this company never does any damage to your home that has to be reported to their insurance company because the owner John L will not submit to his carrier. In fact he told his client to send to your homeowner's carrier and have them subrogate against my company.

I am an insurance agent for a client that this just happened to. So I called John A to see if she was correct in saying that he refused to submit the water damage claim to his company.

To my surprise when I did just speak to John A he did confirm that he was not going to submit his water damage to this client to his own insurance carrier and then proceeded to hang up on me. I have been in the insurance business since 1979 and this is a first for me.

So if this is the response you want from this company when they damage your home you are at the right place then.

Thank you E H Whitson, Thank you Al, Allison and Lilly, so we had a TECO natural gas tankless water heater installed 3 years ago bt Around the Clock Gas Service, Hialeah Gardens, not only did they not want to service my warranty, they wanted to charge me $149!!! I called EH Whitson and they came right out, gave me instructions to contact TECO, and the very next day, we no longer have to take cold showers and TECO paid EH Whitson, great customers service, and they care!

If you are reading this then you are already ahead of the game. I made the mistake of using them for a large home improvement.
Please look at their reviews and consider calling someone else first.
The owner is a friendly older man but once you sign on the dotted line you will never hear or see from him again.
It's been a nightmare for me. I wish I could rate negative stars.
They are very hostile and rude on the phone. They do not back up their work like they say.
Just another Florida company ripping off decent customers.
They are not a part of the BBB for a reason.
Hope this helps you. I wish I had looked at their reviews first.

you need to stay away form this company. We hired them on the recommendation of Teco gas to install a pool heater and tank less water heater. They did not pass inspection on anything the first go around on the Plumbing or Electrical . After they told me to go pay the re inspection fee they would come back I told them no , Its was there fault they did not pass inspection.. So they paid the fee to the city and the inspector came out again, HA HA the plumbing passed and the Electrical failed. Called again and they said they would take care of it. They called me back and said it was done and they got the approval. Now a month later the Pool heater will not work because their electrician blew the 2000.00 unit and I called the city for permit information and they lied when they said the permit was closed. Now they want 95 per hour plus parts to fix what they messed up. Guess I have to go to court on this one STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS

Time after time in a crisis. Since 2001, I call year after year for my a/c maintenance. Calling in you're greeted by a friendly, efficient person. Morning or afternoon? Then call with 20 min heads up tech is on the way. Knowledgeable and speak in layman's terms, fast, friendly and most of all HONEST and straightforward. Just left and I am so relieved I don't have to worry about being bamboozled. These folks have maintained a reputable business. Highly recommend E.H. Whitson. Try them!
