Worst experience of my life dealing with this company! They were hired to help me remodel my duplex for electric and new A/C split system. He wanted all the money up front (at least 65%) from then everything they touched was wrong, went around the entire property with a sledge hammer putting holes all throughout the property. Installed Home Depot A/C splits that were installed totally incorrect (also severely damaging the outside concrete block). Now I am left to have to hire new companies to completely re-do what this company did. They refuse to give me a refund and now I'm stuck paying double possibly triple. If you come in contact with these guys RUNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone put a terrible review using Doris Smith which is my mother who's been dead for over a decade... Ecovolt is fair in pricing and has very qualified employees that work for this great company...

Ecovolt did a sub-standard job rewiring my house. They did not follow code in some areas by overloading two new circuits (20 plug outlets, 9 overhead lights and 2 fans on one 15 amp circuit and the other 15 amp circuit had 13 outlets, 6 lights and 3 fans). One of the outlets was completely unsecured to the wall. When I went to unplug a light, the entire box pulled out of the wall. They hung one of my new ceiling fans on an old junction box that was not properly secured in the ceiling. They were supposed to come back and fix it, but at this point, I don't want them back. In order to 'remedy' the problem of 20 outlets on one circuit, they came back and split some of the wiring off onto the smoke detector circuit and one extra circuit that was an extra wire left in the attic. The wall switch/junction box had a bad hot and a bad ground and the fan/light switch had been reinstalled upside down. This damaged the wall switch. We were prepping for painting around this wall switch and noticed how damaged the switch was. We started to remove it from the electrical box and the wires sparked and blew out the wall outlets (but the circuit breaker on the panel did not trip). The owner argued with us that the circuit breaker had to have tripped, but we two homeowners both verified that the breaker did not trip. We are in our 50s and 60s and both know how to check a circuit breaker. The other code violation was a change they made to address the circuit overload. They switched out two 15 amp breakers for 20 amp breakers, but these were on a 14/2 wire. They made this change after the final electric inspection. We made them put the 15 amp breakers back because after some web research, it seemed ill-advised to run 20 amp breakers on the smaller wire. 20 amps should be on 12/2 wire. Several days after this I was able to verify with the Clearwater electrical inspector that putting a 20 amp breaker on a 14/2 wire is a code violation. Dealing with the owner regarding our concerns about the overloaded circuits was a nightmare. He kept doing the broken record routine of, ""you haven't told me what the problem is, you haven't told me what the problem is."" He was loud and agitated; his voice slightly below yelling volume. I tried to calmly explain that 20 outlets on a 15 amp circuit was not ok and not to code (Clearwater electrical inspector says a max of 10). He kept arguing that this was not a problem and that I had yet to tell him about any problems. They have been back at least 5 times to fix their mistakes. I am very upset that a completely new rewiring of a house is starting out with two brand new circuits being maxed out with too many plugs and light fixtures. They quoted that the job would take about one week. It took 3 weeks. For the first week they sent one electrician, and every day they kept promising this one guy that the rest of the crew would show up on the following day. As homeowners, we were helping to pull wires in the wall because one electrician cannot be in two places at once. When you are attempting to feed a wire through the wall from either the attic or the crawl space, you do need at least one additional person to pull the wire and communicate with the person in the attic or crawl space. As the homeowners, we didn't mind helping, but seriously, how professional is this? We are into our fourth week of this rewiring project because there are still issues that need to be fixed. My observation and opinion is that the owner makes incessant phone calls to his electricians, checking up on them and asking them if they are done with whatever project they are working on. The owner creates a huge distraction for his workers, which in turn, may contribute to their lack of attention to detail. This is a company where everyone is worried about getting blamed and berated by the owner. I have 30+ years of management experience and it is my opinion that this company's problems start at the top, with the owner, who appears not to trust his staff or treat them with appreciation, dignity and respect. I think that many of the individual electricians that came out to my home are competent, but they are so rushed and harassed by the owner that mistakes are bound to happen. Additionally, some of the wiring problems were due to specific instructions given by the owner to his staff. I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with the entire experience of dealing with EcoVolt and I would not hire them again.

Too bad they don't show up for their appointments. Very disappointed as I've used them before. I guess my time off work isn't worth as much as theirs. I'll be searching for a new electrician.

I called after hours from a recommendation from my AC company. They came out the next morning and were able to determine the problem and quickly fix it, as well as thoroughly explain what was going on. I've never had to hire an electrician, but now I will be a repeat customer.
