The intent of this review is to assist perspective Eco Electric clients with knowledge about who and what they are engaging with.

I was contracted by Eco to have my 1955 historic home electric electrical panel permitted and replaced due to salt air corrosion at the beach. The panel was only 9 years old, but was not sending consistent power to the unit and the renters were experiaiceing power outages. Eco wrote a contract to obtain the permit and replace the panel and I agreed.
Urgency was needed and I was assured we would get swift action due to the inconsistent power tot he tenants.
We agreed on a temp solution that may or may not work. A man was sent out (showed up 3 hours before appt, I watched him open the panel and close it and do nothing) and said he was done.
The next day they sent another person as a result of my complaint, (that actually switched the breaker this time) no improvement which we were advised could be the result.

20 days went by and I asked the status, Derek told me SDGE ""just signed off"" when SDGE had actually signed off 12 days prior. (The lies came early and often).

While I could go play by play from here, I will just tell you that I had to project manage and run the entire permit process, send regular reminders and request status updates. Only after constant reminders did I get single line replies and contradictions from Derek (the owner). Derek consistently bullied me, lied (documented) and blamed SDGE, The City's DSD and me for his utter incompetence and inability to perform the service he wrote a contract to provide. Only after firing me for not paying a $300 portion of his $5000 contract, did Derek then start to invest time and energy into my project by sending multi paragraph rants about how the problem with the project was me and my historic home.
Eco could not draw plans and was not capable of obtaining a permit.

Sadly, after having SDGE out to look at the issue, SDGE did a test on the feed and fixed it in a day. I am sure Eco could have done the same test had they not been preoccupied chest pounding and bullying me.
You choice, use them or not.

On all fronts, Eco Electric hit the ball out of the park-- professional, personable, on time, quiet as mice, meticulously neat, careful with our things, responsive, efficient, but most importantly, super smart.

We used a lighting designer to update our LR, DR, Kitchen lighting and needed an electrician to implement her plan. On a neighbor's recommendation, we called Eco Electric. Peter came out first to get job scope and give estimate. Arrived at precisely 9 am. Quickly understood the plan. Scoped out the practicality of it all, asked questions, explored options and came up with a smart approach. His estimate was prompt, detailed and reasonable. I did not see the need to get other bids.

Scheduling was easy, the guys came (again, precisely when they said they would) and knew exactly what to do. But they were not on auto-pilot. When they were in process and thought there was a better/easier/more affordable/less damaging way, they suggested it.

I think this is what I appreciated the most-- their on-going smartness and professional pride in wanting to do the very best for their customer.

Derek, Peter, guys-- I cannot thank you enough! Fantastic job, I am thrilled.

First off, I'm not the type to be easily impressed by simple things. However, my experience with Eco Electric was so good, I feel compelled to let people know. I received a reasonable quote to install four celing lights and a fan, so I pulled the trigger. Steven and Jacob showed up at the exact time they were scheduled, were very quiet, quick, and (most importantly) did not leave a speck of dust in my office despite cutting sheet rock. I'll be using them again for any electrician needs I might have in the future. Exceptionally professional and do great work! Special thanks to Steven and Jacob--great works boys!

Derek and his team (Miguel, Dan, Brian, and Adam) were a wonderful recommendation by my realtor, Noah Grassi. Just like everything Noah has done or recommended, it is gold!

I contacted Derek to install the electrical for my Google home. Derek was very professional, easy to work with, easy to schedule, provided great communication, and was easy to contact via phone and text. His team was just as amazing as he was. They provided an amazing service with professional and experienced suggestions. I came in with an idea and they helped me fill in the blanks as they identified pitfalls and solutions to the issues I had. The amazing work and attention to detail was greatly appreciated as they wore masks and booties at the height of the pandemic and still provided great customer service as they gave me a 30 minute warning prior to arrival as I asked. The system has been very reliable ever since the set up. They routed the wires in a very impressive way that did very minimal damage to the walls which was repaired by my repair man (they do not offer this service). I could not ask for a better company and group of people.

Overall, if you want amazing work, attention to detail, efficient and smart electrical advice, great customer service, and reliable service then I would recommend Derek and his team. I am looking forward to their help with electrical improvements and fixes in the future.

Very pleased with Eco Electric! Highly recommend! Derek and his crew rewired our 1920 house and did an excellent job. Good price, good communication and kept the place tidy throughout the job. We will definitely use them again!

If I could give zero stars I would. The owner is rigid, not willing to bend or accommodate in situations. Life is not black & white all the time. Especially with Covid and delays in shipping. He charges a RIDICULOUS trip fee if he has to come out a second time.

There are plenty of electricians. Choose another. No one needs extra stress right now or a condescending electrician.

Yes Derek, this is for you.

Got 3 different estimates to upgrade my electrical panel. Decided on Eco Electric and couldn't be more pleased. Derek is a super nice and knowledgeable electrician. He did a great job upgrading the panel and getting our master bathroom ready for a remodel. He also installed a light on each side of our garage and a fan in our family room. Thanks Derek!

I can't believe it has taken me this long to write a review! Derek and his crew are super amazing! We had been struggling with our electrical. Circuits popping, plugs falling out of the sockets. And garage lights falling. They came over and did a super great and fast job of fixing everything I needed. They were even super nice to my cat, he's very needy! Thanks so much!

I was hoping to ditch my outlets on the backsplash in my kitchen and also add some extra lighting. During my remodel Derek and his crew came in and did an unbelievable job on transforming the lighting. Everything was nicer than I had anticipated including the backsplash led lights being on a dimmer and all the outlet strips being hidden. Really happy with the work done and the five stars is because it exceeded my expectation.
