Melissa K.Earle has done various things at my house over the past 4 years. He, his son, and the other workers have all been incredibly nice and knowledgable. I've had them do various things from rewiring parts of my 1908 home, installing light switches and additional outlets, to replacing lightning fixtures that haven't been touched since the 1960s. I suppose sometimes he may not respond immediately, but it has never been an issue for me. He's a good guy and does great work.
Last year, I had Earle and his son put in 4 lights on my front porch/garage, two of which required new wiring as previously there were no lights in front of the garage. He scheduled shortly after providing the quote and I was pleased with the job and his responsiveness. In December 2016, I called him again to provide a quote to add an outlet in my family room. This time it took a few calls but he did schedule time to come see what was required and quickly indicated the price and said it would not take too much time to complete. But because it was just before Christmas, he said he would do the work early in January and would call me in early January. After the first week in January and no call from Earle, I called him several times and left messages. Even tried email. No response. When I would actually get him on the phone, each time he gave me a different excuse as to why he couldn't either continue the call at that moment and would call me back, or give me an actual date to do the work. I was hoping to schedule the work prior to having the room painted so actually needed a date. Earle never called back after each discussion, even when he said he would. I finally sent him an email asking him to let me know if he was going to do the job or not so that I could find someone else if he wasn't interested. Never heard back! While I was pleased with his work the first time, I would no longer recommend Earle due to his lack of professionalism and poor response.
Earle and his team did an amazing job at an incredibly reasonable rate! I was able to get Earle to come to our house within a couple days to get a new electric panel and all new outlets installed immediately after we moved into our new home. They did the entire job (which was quite a feat given how outdated everything was) quickly, were really friendly, super knowledgeable, and had great suggestions and recommendations for other odd projects we had on the house. In addition to being amazing electricians, they charged us significantly less than other estimates we received to do the project, and were available immediately. Will say I'm a pretty persistent caller, so I was able to get in touch with him relatively easily.
C Lee G.I've used Earl on two different occasions. Both times, the service was top-notch and the price was extremely reasonable. Most recently, I needed an electrical vehicle (EV) charger installed. Earl's assistant completed the work the following day and fixed something unrelated for no additional charge. His estimate (and ultimate charge) was half the cost of another ostensibly reasonably priced electrician.
Jaysson R.Earle, his son Kevin and team delivered. We had a fairly complex multiple flatscreen and fan install and they were able to execute without a flaw. They were knowledgable, on time, polite and very fair on pricing. My family and I highly recommend this company if you need someone to trust with your electrical needs.
Jessica L.We own several rental properties in the East Bay and have used Earle for several jobs, both big and small. Electrical work is expensive, but Earle's low prices make the process as painless as possible.
I can understand the negative reviews saying its difficult to get in touch with him. He's busy and doesn't usually pick up the phone.
But we feel his good work and his good prices are worth the wait.
Maybe all you need to know is that I signed up for Yelp so that I could give Earle's Low Cost Electric a bad review. I always knew how bad the work felt, but I'm not an electrician and the lights turned on so I figured they were unprofessional but at least did their job. I read lots of yelp reviews, but am not the kind to complain most of the time. It took over a year of living with the work they did to realize what hacks they were, and this motivated me to write this bad review of their work!
I bought a house and had to update the electric, and my realtor suggested Earle so we went with him. It was basically installing and updated old knob and tube wiring... well, they continually left me and my family in the dark (literally!) by forgetting to turn the power back on after a days work, were generally uncommunicative about what they were doing, and sort of seemed incompetent as they did their work. Plus -- they weren't THAT low cost.
Cut to today, though, and I'm having some work done, and the contractor has to deal with a cable in a room. They could have put the electrical in the wall, they just didn't. This means I have to rip out the wall and redo it, costing me over a thousand dollars. Again, I tend to see the good in people and assume they are doing their job; but eare's low cost electric is sketchy and you shouldn't use them. I didn't find them that cheap, but even if cost is your consideration their incompetence has proved very expensive to me.
charlie b.After supplying an estimate, basically stopped responding to all phone call or emails. He is very unprofessional in his approach to business.
Earle has done several jobs for us, each one has been done to perfection.
The latest was the addition of recessed lighting. Great work, placed them perfectly. Now we have movie theater lighting for our home.
His prices are reasonable and his service is impeccable. He also responds (reasonably promptly) to email which is huge given our busy work schedules.
Going to bring him back for more work in the future. Thanks Earle!
Jonathan F.I've been using Earle's for my real estate clients, he is very friendly, smart and professional, he uses a lot of care, the dude works hard. He truly gets to the bottom of the problem and charges reasonable prices.
