Just had E&S come around for the second time to fix the same outdoor lights/outdated lighting they fixed before. Friendly and competent enough. However, I feel their services are very pricey, and no break given despite the fact that it was the same issue from less than a year before when I paid what I thought then was far too much (granted, I was warned I might need to spend around an additional $2k to prevent it from happening again). Confession: I had not realized I was calling the same guys back.

Perhaps I am not up to date on what electrician fees are these days... $200/hour seems high to me, especially given that one of them is an assistant being told what to do. I also wish I had been told that on the phone before coming out, though mea culpa for not asking, I guess. They just said they were coming out and I was thinking it would be for an estimate.

In any case, after they left, it dawned on me that I had not even been given an invoice/receipt. I would think that standard practice.

Will shop around better next time. Thought I'd post it in case there are others who are not aware of their rates and would also not want to dish out that much if not necessary.

We just bought a house in Redwood City. Talked to both Trevor and Eric on the phone to work out a time for a visit. Both were polite an courteous on the phone.

Eric came over, went round the house and took so much time and care explaining all the breaker boxes and showing me how he tested sockets to make sure they were safe (turns out everything is!). All of this initial consult was free.

The best part about Eric is that he clearly loves to teach. He didn't mind at all that I would ask dumb questions, making me feel very comfortable doing so and reassuring me that I actually knew enough to get by.

He went out of his way to show me how to turn off the electrics and even taught me how to safely change a socket (it's not hard). To the point where he said that I didn't really need his services but I could give him a call if I didn't have time to do the basic parts of the work myself.

I'll certainly be using E&S Electric for the larger remodeling work we have coming up.

This is a long overdue review for some work that I had done a year ago. Needed an electrical outlet added in my garage when I replaced my water heater with a tankless one. Called several electricians and Eric was the only one who responded the same day. He and his son came by the same day to look at the area and gave me a quick estimate. I also had him move another outlet in the garage and install some fluorescent overhead lights.

Eric was very patient and made some great recommendations. Scheduled him for a week out and he came promptly and completed the work quickly. Cleaned up after himself and left me a very happy customer. I will definitely use him again in the future and highly recommend him for any electrical work you may need done.

Wow! Eric and Trevor did a great job. Clean, professional and quick! They knocked out a dozen different small/medium projects in one day and did a great job.

Eric is very knowledgeable and made sure that we any previously existing hazards were removed. They were very helpful with their recommendations and being flexible on location of outlets.

I would not hesitate to recommend E&S Electric to anyone needing electrical work done and we will certainly use them for future projects.

We are totally impressed by Erik - he and his nephew powered through our home projects and did excellent work installing outlets, hanging lights, and installing closet lighting. We paid exactly what was quoted, they showed up on time, and even handled a few things we overlooked in our initial walkthrough. To top it off, they graciously left their ladders at our home for 2 weeks while other contractors were working so we wouldn't have to buy ladders! I'm thoroughly amazed by Erik's professionalism and quick work. I would hire Erik again in a heartbeat!

Eric (and son) installed a new main electrical panel for me. He was easy to work with, responsive to calls, showed up when he said he would, completed the job in one day, and the power was back on when I got home. Nice job too. Even the building inspector commented on the clean installation.

Our regular electrician was out of town, so we called E&S today. Eric arrived in less than 45 minutes, made and quick assessment and diagnosed the problem right away. He is professional, friendly, and no nonsense. He explained everything thoroughly. He had replacement pieces on hand ready to do work. Life saver.

My husband and I spent an entire day trying to diagnose why half the outlets stopped working in the kitchen. After being unsuccessful DIY'ers I called Eric. He had the problem diagnosed in under a minute and everything working in about 10. As a bonus, he cleared out some unsightly pipe and wire in our backyard that had been improperly installed. This wire connected our outside outlets to a common outlet shared with our kitchen ones and was causing the short. Not only are our kitchen outlets working again, but our backyard is much safer. He is extremely professional, on time, and efficient. He is coming back in a few weeks to rewire light switches in my bathrooms.
