JP came that morning provided me the quote and that same day had it installed. Very professional and friendly. We will use them for future work.

We chose to go with E I Electrical after seeing the great reviews they had. We knew our renovation would take some time and wanted to make sure we would be able to reach the electrician when needed. The assessment fee was $95.00 and Daniel Jennings responded. He provided us with a quote and told us to contact the office when we were ready to start. Six months later we started our renovation project. Although there were many add-ons and changes, E I Electrical sent Daniel each time and without any issues. Daniel showed up on time, was very knowledgeable, professional, respectful, reliable and did excellent work. I want to point out that we had to call Daniel out several times during the renovation and he always came out promptly. We also appreciated that we received a text message and email reminding us of our appointments and received text messages when Daniel and other electricians were enroute. Our renovation is almost completed and am very thankful to Daniel for making the electrical portion of it run smoothly. E I Electrical wasn't the cheapest, but so far we have had a great experience with them.

Let me preface this by saying I do not like writing bad reviews. It's my sincerest belief that in this post-pandemic society, patience and compassion are virtues we must all try our utmost to exercise every single day.

With that being said, we also shouldn't allow ourselves to be di**ed around while doing it.

First the positive: The response from E I Electric was Spot On. The response time to our inquiry was barely a blip; and they were able to send someone our way shortly after. The electrician, Daniel, was prompt, approachable, and seemed very knowledgeable. He listened attentively as we tried our best to explain all of the electrical problems we were having, and was very meticulous in examining each one. As he did so, he let us know what he believed the problem to be, what needed to be done, and the approximate cost to fix it. We knew the cost would be steep as they were reviewed to be one of the best on the island; but our homes electrical system (which is paramount to our families safety) was the one area we were NOT looking to cut costs on. In the end, we were very satisfied with the initial consultation, and looked forward to working with Daniel and E I Electric.

Now, the negative: At the end of the consultation, Daniel let us know that he would be emailing us a quote for the entirety of the job and was on his way.

And...that was it.

Like a huge bowl of delicious Waiola Shaved Ice on a hot Hawaii day, he vanished into thin air. Our consultation was on either a Thursday or Friday, so we understood when we didn't receive an email right away. The end of the week can be hectic for any company. But when a week passed without any communication from Daniel or E I Electric, we were concerned; especially since we paid $195 for said consultation. When our attempts to reach out by email failed, we decided to call E I directly to explain the situation and try to get ahold of Daniel that way. After being assured that a message would be passed along and that he would contact us shortly, the vanishing act continued. At that point, we accepted that we may have been jilted out of nearly $200...and that was that.

All of this took place in mid January of this year, and we are fairly certain Daniel and E I Electric won't be contacting us. I know, it's comical to think that it took well over five months to come to this conclusion - but once again, patience and compassion is really all I have left to maintain my sanity in this crazy, post-pandemic world.

But I will end with this: Whilst loosing nearly $200 did hurt, what hurt more was the faith and trust they took away from my husband and I during this experience. Hawaii is such a small group of islands far set from the rest of the world. Sometimes, it really seems like we can only lay trust upon each other to get by. So when a local company betrays that trust for reasons I can only speculate about, it leaves a hole that is difficult to repair. I don't know why Daniel and E I Electric did what they did, and I refuse to give words to any of my speculations. But whatever the reason, it wasn't cool. Do better E I Electric. All of the amazing people of this little Aina of ours deserves it.

The transformer that works my doorbell and home address light went bad. EI Electrical sent out electrician Daniel Jennings came out and made the repair. He was very professional and completed the job in a matter of minutes! I'm very satisfied with the work performed.

Wow! Professionalism, Customer Service, and Technical Expertise all after one phone call to this company!

I contacted E I Electrical at about 6:50 a.m. thinking no one would answer since it wasn't 7:00 yet. Well, surprise! My call was quickly answered by a friendly gentleman who introduced himself as ""Joe."" After a quick, friendly discussion of my breaker problem, Joe had me on the schedule for ""sometime between 10:00-12:00."" He explained the procedure, to include receiving a confirmation text, etc.
So seamless, everything was covered, all I had to do was wait for a text from the electrician when he finished his job around 9:00. Joe was such a pleasure to talk to.

This job was actually a year ago. As with so many other poor reviews of this company they charge a non-refundable assessment fee to come out before giving you a quote. I needed 4 ceiling fans installed. Basic job. I had gotten quotes from multiple electricians all around $500 so my expectation was that it would be close to this. Plus the assessment fee would be applied so I was thinking about $300 more than the $200 fee= about $500.

Nope: $2000!!!!! TWO THOUSAND. That's 4x every other quote I had gotten and so far out of range that no one should accept it. I turned it down of course but was still on the line for the $200 assessment fee. The only thing I could think in that moment was that I had been scammed. How many of these ridiculous $200 visits could they make in a day vs doing the actual job? Probably a lot.

I left a 1 star review and they contacted me right away. They said they would cancel the assessment fee to remove the review. I said I would change but not remove the review because this is a shady way of doing business and people should know. I changed it to 3 stars because they promised they would reassess this ""new"" system they had for charging people but after seeing similar poor reviews recently for the same type of set up I can see nothing was changed. Disappointing.
I went with another upfront, honest electrician for that original job and other jobs after it. Trapping potential customers in assessment charges or charging them insane amounts for basic jobs isn't a good long term business strategy. Maybe you can get away with that on the mainland but this is an island and everyone knows everyone to some degree.

I had intermittent power at my house. Problem was traced to the meter box failure on a 3 yr old house (?). HECO pulled the meter late at night and noticed a failed meter box due to corrosion (water & moisture intrusion). I checked yelp reviews and called EI Electrical for support as soon as they opened up. I wanted a legit company since this was the main power panel into the house. EI Electrical responded quickly (Joseph called me back), and Josiah arrived mid morning right after the incident. I coordinated with HECO to open up the meter box again to support Josiah's assessment and quotation development. Josiah waited for HECO to arrive and after looking at the situation inside the meter box he quickly had developed a quotation and had already checked for parts availability. Very efficient use of time while HECO was enroute (btw HECO's arrival can be unknown, 1 hour estimate can mean several hours of waiting).

To be honest, the price of EI Electrical Quotation was on the high end but (1) having the technical expert there listening with me as a homeowner support on this complicated repair was comforting; (2) Josiah had checked and stated all parts were available, and; (3) Josiah also stated he had the manning to take care of this repair today AND he had discussed coordination efforts with HECO....all of this was a total go for me even though pricing was on the high side and I determined the quality of service was worth it. I signed the estimate and agreed to the repair by EI Electrical. If I had to get quotes from other sources and coordinate with HECO each time to open up the box, my home would still be out of power!

Josiah and additional support arrived as scheduled and repairs were completed in a timely fashion. I coordinated with HECO to return to install the meter. Josiah stayed late (approx 10pm) to ensure the job was finished properly by HECO and to do some final testing/inspection to ensure repairs were completed properly. This was priceless in my opinion!

Highly recommend EI Electrical! It was a long day of coordination with HECO. The repairs by EI Electrical was the easy part of a very long and hectic day when power is out unexpectedly. Josiah provided excellent customer service and I would ask for him specifically if I had another electrical issue (although I hope not!).

E 1 Electrical is the best! They are who I call when I need any electrical work done. Recently, Moriah replaced 5 light fixtures in our Ohana unit... she was completely professional, on time, thoroughly knowledgeable, and she discovered a couple of wiring problems that our previous contractor did not find.
