Did my research before asking Edward to replace our main electrical panel (old one was a fire hazard!) and install several new light fixtures in the house. Edward is professional, polite, respectful, prompt, and does a great job - he clearly takes pride in his work. He was not the cheapest contractor, but who wants to use the cheapest contractor for electrical work? Job site was cleaned up after each day's work. Shoe covers 100% of the time.

I believe he is an instructor at San Jose City College, so clearly knows his stuff. Would definitely call again for future jobs.

We were first introduced to edward through our general contractor during our kitchen remodel. He was super meticulous and detail oriented. We loved the canned lighting he did for us in our kitchen so we had him come out to put canned lighting in our living room. He makes sure to keep the areas he is working clean and is extremely knowledgeable and professional. I would highly recommend him.

Edward replaced my main and sub electrical panels. He arrived on time, finished the job on schedule and left my home clean. He obtained the required permit and met with the building inspector at the completion of the job.
Recently, I called Edward on a Saturday afternoon after I had accidently cut through a Romex wire inside a wall leaving part of our home without power. He showed up early the next morning and quickly repaired the damage.

We called E G Electrical to help us get our kitchen back in working order (after we managed to fritz all the electrical outlets during a large dinner party). My husband likes to fix things himself, but this problem had him stumped - everything he tried failed to work, so we decided to trust a professional. We came to E G Electrical after reading their stellar Yelp reviews, especially when we realized that this business is Diamond Certified. We've used Diamond Certified businesses before, and have always been impressed, so we were hoping for a lot from E G Electrical... They didn't disappoint us.

We set up an appointment for them to take a look at the problem, and provide an estimate of how much it would cost to fix. Edward arrived promptly, and after a brief chat, went straight to work checking over things. He was able to determine the problem quickly, and fixed it all up. Along the way, he explained what was wrong, and showed me what he was doing, so we could avoid this issue later.

It's clear to me that Edward really knows his stuff, and enjoys his work. He's very professional, courteous, and conscientious. He patiently explained things to me, and didn't make me feel like an idiot for asking simple questions. Even better, he didn't charge us extra for fixing things - he honored the price he quoted for the initial visit, since he didn't spend any additional time in the appointment.

Edward is a welcome surprise. I'd be happy working with him again - and likely will.

My house remodel required a new and repositioned electrical box along with updated electrical wiring throughout the whole house. Upon meeting Ed, we went over a detailed walk through of each room and understanding the layout of lighting and switches. I was very impressed with the amount of detail that was going into the layout. A lot of times I would just refer back to Ed for his recommendation and where the best placement would be. I didn't realize how much detail goes into the planning of electrical switches and outlet locations. Ed made suggestions upon future possible locations and lighting which I appreciated very much.

There were times when the information and decision making was way over my head. And Ed was more than happy to revisit the information and details at a different time. The great thing was that Ed's work is so detailed and precise we passed the electrical inspections at different points of the remodel with no problems at all which is a huge plus. This saved us time in the process and did not delay other parts of the remodel. Now living in the house I can see why Ed asked a lot of questions about placement of switches and outlets. The simplicity of the locations of the switches and many outlets has made it easier. And Ed is very detailed about his craft such that every screw for each cover plate is all facing the same direction and the plate is all level and flat. These are the details I appreciate. He is down to earth and easy to communicate with, I strongly recommend Ed for his experience and detailed workmanship.

I have already reviewed EG Electrical, but am updating my review because I found out my review was ""filtered"". If you're wondering why 28 out of 30 reviews (all positive) have been filtered, it's probably because the owner hasn't payed Yelp for advertising. I'm sure this review will get filtered too. None of my other Yelp reviews were filtered; why this one? Yelp runs an extortion racket.

I have known Edward at E.G. Electrical for 10 years, and when my customers need any electrical work done whether for a large renovation an updated panel, or just installing new lighting I refer them to Edward. He is an honest contractor who provides high quality work, and my customers are always happy with his work. He also teaches electrical courses and is an inspector and obviously knows his stuff - what more could you want than a knowledgeable and honest contractor?

Ed took on a solar installation repair where the usual solar installers had balked. It involved warranty repair on inverters. Although he said it was not his typical kind of work, Ed very professionally helped me obtain the replacements and was prompt in installing them when they arrived. He was terrific at staying in touch and keeping me informed on the status of things as they progressed. I now have a strong confidence in his abilities both as an electrician and a businessman. Highly recommended.
