I am picky about hiring electricians; I figure you don't want a rookie or handy man messing with electricity. After a lot of research, I went with Dwelling Electric. Had great reviews, proved to be licensed and bonded (I checked California's contractor site) and also had liability insurance. Jeff, the owner, was great. He was professional, on time, and knew his stuff. I had a recessed light that would not come on even though the bulb was good. Jeff explained that there was paint inside the fixture and that the bulb had been screwed on way too tight. He fixed it and then went on to replace other old bulbs with energy efficient bulbs in other fixtures. He is very knowledgeable and happy to explain what he is doing. He is not condescending. I will hire him again. In fact, I have just bought new light fixtures for my bathrooms and am calling him to install them.

Jeff installed 2 security cameras, replaced some flakey fluorescent fixtures with LED versions, and replaced an unknown fixture in a closet with an LED fixture.

The cameras involved installing ethernet all over the house. His runs were clean and professional looking - including hiding quite a bit in the attic.

He was never hesitant to take feedback, and very willing to offer improvements to my requests. Some of the improvements I was happy to accept and some I passed on - and he graciously did what I requested.

The only drawback, which others have commented on, is that he is busy. So it took quite some time to have him come out.

If I need more work done, Jeff will be the first person I call.

Jeff is da bomb! My husband had to work so I had to meet the electrician. Scary. My husband knew what he wanted done, I had a general idea.

Jeff made me feel very comfortable and walked me through everything. He helped me make an educated decision about where to place canned lights and switches and when he encountered any unexpected issues in my ceiling he talked with me and we came up with what ended up being the right and best choice.

It's hard to let someone cut into your house without your spouse there to consult with but Jeff made he process much less scary.

I have lighting in my kitchen now! Thanks to Jeff I don't have an excuse not to cook in my once dark kitchen anymore. My husband thanks you for that.

Jeff returned my call the same day, has come out to my home, three times, always on time. He is personable, his rates are reasonable and he is extremely knowledgeable. He pointed out problems that could have resulted in a fire or major problem in the future, and fixed everything perfectly. I cannot recommend Jeff enough. He is professional and very pleasant to be around, punctual and I will call him again in the future! I would not consider using any other electrician, that's how good he is!

Jeff at Dwelling did an incredible job. He installed a hanging (8+ foot) light fixture over the front entry way, hung a motion light sensor for the driveway and pulled a dozen or so Ethernet cables from five corners of our home to a network cabinet (security cams mostly)

We had a four hour special (anything electric to be done in four hours). You might think if they knew we had them for four hours they'd work slow. Not Jeff. He banged the jobs our quickly and thoroughly. Attic work is the pits (one of the reasons I didn't wait until summer) but he pulled about 12 Ethernet homeruns in an hour (and that was with me planning as we went).

I absolutely, without reservation, recommend Dwelling Electric. I will be using them again in the near future.

When I get good service and a fair price, I like to share the good news with others. I needed to have 2 ceiling fans with lights installed in rooms that didn't have an overhead attic. I got prices from 2 other electricians - both were higher and didn't include the drywall patchwork that Dwelling Electric provides. I also saw that Dwelling Electric had great reviews on other websites so the choice became pretty evident. Jeff is personable and included me in the various decisions of fan placement etc. (with ceiling sprinkler system, the placement was less obvious). I am very pleased with the work and will use him again for my electrical needs. Dwelling Electric also runs periodic specials so ask if he has something that will benefit you.

Jeff is by far the best service provider I have ever encountered. He is very knowlegeable, honest, and a very couteous guy with integrity who really cares about the customer. He came over to the house twice, first time just to give me important advice on the best solution on installation of Led lights for our family room and kitchen. His skill and customer service is exceptional. He worked at a great pace while being highly efficient and effective on the job.
