this guy is a thief and a liar!!! Dukes Electric said 100.00 for service call to change out a thermostat and secure a circuit breaker switch and the 100.00 included an hour and half labor/trouble shoot. He arrived then said it was going to be 150.00 not 100.like he quoted on phone. I reminded him he told me on the phone 100. but he insisted he said it was 150. I'm on a limited income so I know what amount I agreed to but I was desperate to get my new thermostats mounted so first I took him to the electrical box he secured the switch in 2 minutes then I took him inside to replace my thermostat. He looked at it and immediately said, ""he didnt do thermostats that I had to hire a HVAC person to install a thermostat""
what do you mean you don't do thermostats? why did you even call me back or come to my house when I specifically requested help with a thermostat if you don't do thermostats?? He still wanted to be paid the 150.00 service call fee!!! I didnt want a lien placed on my home so I offered my credit card... He said, ""I don't take credit cards only cash, check or Zelle. I explained I don't have that much money in my bank account. He thought for a second and said,
""Okay, I'll accept a credit card but it will cost you 4% more."" OMG could it get any worse?
I looked at Dukes Electric ad and it says they accept credit cards!! it also advertises heater/furnace and Air Conditioning repair, and installation!! that is HVAC work and he told me he doesn't do thermostats that I had to call an HVAC person!!!
BTW... I question if he is a has an electrical contractors license as he didn't offer a business card, or a written estimate or even a receipt for his undeserved overcharged payment!! I texted him asking him for his CA Contractors License number and a refund for overcharging me but I was not surprised when he didn't respond. I'm going to file a formal complaint /report his lack of business ethics to the CA State Contractors board and to CA State consumers affairs and I'm going to seek my overcharged payment in Small claims court since he refuses to give me any money back. Don't hire this guy for anything!
I know he is the owner because he said he named his business after his dog Duke.
His didn't even introduce himself with his real name or have a name tag. His work truck does not have any business name to identify him. This guy and his business called Dukes Electric in Bakersfield CA is a scam!!!

Lights went out in all my rooms only. I called and he was responsive within 5 minutes, next day response time, professional,knowledgable. He was worth the $$ for piece of mind. I would use Duke's again.

The electricity cut off to only half of our home at 4am. During the summer, this is a HUGE problem. I placed a call to Duke's at 8am and Juan called back 5 minutes later. He was personable, knowledgeable, prompt, and professional. He identified the problem immediately and was able to make the necessary repairs. PG&E had to be called as there was a problem on their end (melted meter) that required their intervention. Even so, Juan offered to be an intermediary if needed. Thankfully, it wasn't necessary. I will absolutely use Duke's again without hesitation.

Half our breakers went out yesterday and Juan was the only person to call us back last night and come through today for the repairs. We had bad breakers and a bad line on the PGE side. Duke's Electric always comes in clutch with fast and professional service. I contacted Duke's Electrical this morning since my breaker was damaged due to me being a ding dong. He was able to schedule me the same day during a reasonable time frame. He came by with tools in hand and a big smiley ready to get the job done.

Hands down the best service in town that I have received. I had another electrical team come out and do an inspection on my home and something just didn't feel right about their findings, I hit up Juan for a second opinion and he was able to find a major issue that the other team didn't even locate! He pulled permits and within a week the repairs were done in one day! Thank you again!

Take me to start off by saying how much of a good person Juan the electrician was. He was extremely professional and courteous and his knowledge of the job was outstanding. It's good to see that there are still good people out there that are willing to do a good job at a fair price and is willing to go the extra mile!
