D'Spain Sales & Service, Inc. was founded by Wiley and Lois D'Spain in Bandera in 1974, after they embraced an invitation to take over the HVAC, appliance systems, and water well units from the Langford Hardware, where he had worked for a decade. Early on, Wiley had an inherent talent for all things mechanically inclined and a true affection for wind power, having grown up on a farm in a adjacent area. Lois D'Spain grew up in the eastern part of Texas and eventually came to Bandera after a charming trip one summer. She and Wiley had been married for 23 years before founding the enterprise. Wiley D'Spain handled all of the HVAC, appliance services, and groundwater offerings and services, while Lois D'Spain performed all the accounting practices. Spending nights and weekends after her primary employment, she handled all the bookkeeping and financial responsibilities of the business. As a leader within the business, Wiley supports and recognizes his staff for each certification they earn. Wiley D'Spain and his staff engage in continuous education required by the local authorities. During 1983, we relocated to our present location at 804 Eleventh St in Bandera. Moving into the 3,500 square foot facility gave us the needed floor space required to stock and provide more solutions to our clients, as well as a tailored water solutions division to help landowners, producers, and residents.
