D'Spain Sales and Service began by Wiley and Lois D’Spain in Bandera, Texas in 1974, following they took an offer to acquire the air conditioning, appliance systems, and water systems departments from the Langford, where Wiley D'Spain had served for 10 years. Early on, Wiley D'Spain had an inherent aptitude for all things related to mechanics and a true affection for wind power, having grown up on a ranch in a adjacent area. Lois D'Spain spent her childhood in Eastern Texas and eventually moved to Bandera, TX after a delightful visit one summer. Together, they had been married for more than two decades before founding the business. Wiley D'Spain handled all of the air conditioning, appliance, and well water product sales and services, while Lois handled all the accounting responsibilities. Putting in after hours and time off after her main job, Lois managed all the financial along with financial responsibilities of the company.
