I have used Doug's for quite some time. Never had a problem - until today.
I had major surgery on my shoulder on Monday and noticed our heater wasn't coming on.

Call Doug's and they send someone out for the usual $99 ""service fee"" - just to come to your house. I get it - fine. However,
He spent 10 minutes here - went into the attic and came out saying there was a dirt dobber nest he removed (just dirt people) and charged $112.20 to do that - and charged an additional $188.70 to ""test the system"" which consisted of turning on thermostat and pointing a temp laser at vents.
Final bill $399!!!

Absolute robbery!! The tech was nice and polite - but this is price gouging as far as I'm concerned. Nothing decent about a company that overcharges for a truly simple task.
They will never get my business again and I'll be sure to continue spreading the word on all my social media and will do so often.

Horrible!!!
The service guy quoted me $783.00 to REPLACE a 220 outlet (wires already connected to breaker) & replace a hot water heater cord. That's insane!!!
I let them know I wasn't gonna have it fixed b/c of price & had to pay the service call fee of $159.00 for the 15 minute quote. That's insane!!!!
soooo $53.00 dollars & 6 YouTube videos later I have hot water again!!!!
FYI Doug... this girl ain't stupid!!!

Complete fraudulent company. Service call-Rent house #1, 9 year old unit: they said we needed a new one. We bought a new one.
Service call-Rent house #2, 5 year old unit: they said we needed a new one. I got smart and called another company. Sure enough, the other company changed out the power board which was under warranty and it didn't cost a thing. We also have a ""Preferred Membership"" (with Doug's) on these houses which we are supposed to get annual maintenance, no overtime fees etc. However, they do not honor the program, they did charge overtime fees and we have never had anyone call for a scheduled maintenance. To top it off, nobody will call back if you have a complaint and because they had my debit account info for a completely different house, they were able to take money out of my account to pay the bill I was trying to dispute. So my advise-Use a more reputable company that cares about service.

Needed several plumbing and electrical projects done at my home and my elderly mom's home. Marlin Blanchard was timely, knowledgeable, professional and friendly. If we have future needs, we will contact Doug's and ask for Marlin.

Had Doug's come to repair an Ice Maker, I was told that it needed a new water valve ($350 ) and that if that didn't work the valve could be returned and that I would need a new Ice Maker. Part replaced and it made 1 tray of ice and stopped working, called Doug's and explained the problem and that I would order a new machine and have them come install it and that I would get a credit for the valve. After making the return appointment to install the new machine, I was told that I couldn't get credit for a useless $350 valve. After arguing with the Manager, maybe owner, of Doug's, they decided to give me credit and charge me an additional $292.00 for the new install for a Grand Total of $642.00. I will never use these lying thieves again! I called Solar Refrigeration to get cost to do the same job and was quoted $239.00.
Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company.
