I have an ac that costed $13,000 and within 6 Mos no longer cooling. They said it was a faulty part. Part ordered on Tues. The Service Mgr calls on Wednesday day before Thanksgiving to say the part was incorrect. The part will be air dropped on Fri. I have a house full of relatives on Thanksgiving day with a system that is not cooling very well. I asked could the part be ordered from another hvac Co, ex Coburn's. He said he called and none was available. It didn't sound like the truth when I asked and answered. I called Coburn's, Voila to my surprise one was in stock! I use them because essentially no other competition but I will be looking to use another company for my hvac needs! They are not budget friendly. The technicians are pretty nice, knowledgeable. I think he just didn't want to do the work on Thanksgiving eve or pay to outsource the part from another distributor. How much more would it have costed to go and get the part elsewhere to satisfy the customer.
I needed a bath exhaust installed and was quoted $1000! Handyman came and installed for $200. They called a month later asking if I still needed the work done. ?

This company is not as good as it once was.
Ever since they sold out no one in Management cares. ( try leaving a message for Jeff, now and see if he calls you back) He didn't call me back, after he has been preaching about his dad's service and legacy in commercials and Facebook for years, but maybe his BS call center didn't give him the message!
If you want to be overcharged do business with Doug's.
If you want to purchase a BS membership that supposedly gives you priority when you are in a jam, yet you get left to bake in your house, do business with Doug's.
If you want your general maintenance appointments from previously mentioned BS memberships to be rescheduled over and over with no regards for your schedule, do business with Doug's.
If you want to talk to an out of state call center when you call then wait forever for a dispatcher to call you back, again while you bake in your house, do business with Doug's.
If you want to be told we will call you first thing in the morning and get someone there, but not get called until 11:30 ( that is lunchtime not first thing in the morning, I already had the issue fixed by another company by then!) Do business with Doug's!
What makes me angry is that in addition to their ridiculous service pricing, I paid 25% more for both of my ac units and my generator, because of how good the service was. I now have serious buyers remorse because the customer service that once made them great is GONE! This is my honest opinion!
On a positive note they do have one great employee left, his name is Daniel Tabor.
