I called this jerk from his Craigslist ad. He was angry and abusive for no reason whatsoever, except for me telling him another electrician had previously done work at my home. He rambled on and on about how I probably ""hired a monkey"" and asked if I was looking to hire another monkey. I actually asked him if he was drunk because he was so freaking rude. I hope everyone who considers hiring him sees his Yelp reviews first.
I hired Doug to replace all of the outlets and switches in my new house. I was a little skeptical after he had serious trouble finding my home after being here once before to fix an outlet. He subbed out the work to a GREAT electrician who took the time to do things right even with Doug calling him every 5 minutes wondering where he and his money were (it was only $300). I would highly recommend the guy he subbed the work out to, but based on Doug's personality and how he treated the sub, I wouldn't even consider using Doug again.
RUN AWAY, this guy is a Sc...bag !!! asked me for 500$ to go buy what he needed to start the job....I know I am dumb and naive and gave it to him. the job could be done in one day. During 2 weeks he gave me all the excuses he could find and finally asked me for more money to go buy stuff !!!! and when I dare ask what he did with my 500$ he told me very naturally that he paid his bills. and had no shame on saying he wont be able to do the job except if I go with him buy the staff.....so I asked for my money back and he laugh telling me it is not going to happen .....
so I have to get police involve and will report him to hopefully get his license suspended.
there is plenty of electrician out there !!!! Run away from this one !!!!!!
