Hegge electric came highly recommended to us by several neighbors, thus the lack of a 5 star overall rating is more a reflection on reviewers then on his business (Refer to the length of the negative reviews).

We had a quote for a 240V outlet to be installed. He showed up on time, performed a very thorough inspection, provided a very competitive quote to us within 24 hours and was nothing but professional throughout.

This is much more than can be said for a competitor who showed up late, performed only a cursory inspection (which was concerning) and took three weeks to the day to provide a quote which was significantly more expensive. While this specific competitor has a higher overall rating it seems they achieved this by demonstrating how to use TV remotes and hang TVs on walls. That is what YouTube is for.

Stick to the professionals like Hegge for the complex work. Realize you pay for the quality of work being done. If it is perceived to be a simple task give it a go yourself first before complaining about cost.

Don Hegge is a bully, and he will rip you off because he advises his workers to chat you up for a substantial amount of time, and he will bill you for the unnecessary chat time. That's his con. He works just like lawyers do, by deliberately not answering questions and forcing you to restate your case so they can bill you more- Twice his workers came to my house and told me the job I wanted done couldn't be done, and in both cases they completed the job the said they couldn't do, while billing me extravagantly for the time they spent erroneously chatting me up and telling me it couldn't be done! It's a con. You will pay more than you need to with this contractor, and they prey on older customers who don't understand electric work that well and place their trust in him. He thinks people are stupid and won't figure out his game. Thank god for the internet, which gives you a voice and warns you of shysters like Hegge.

First of all may I say Don heege is very knowledgeable on older homes he and his staff were able to troubleshoot items that other people were unable to do. I had a shopping cart full of items that I wanted to have done on my multi-unit property , plus running new electrical at another property. The work was to be done when they had spare time between jobs and there was no deadline. While I was in the middle of another job on the property Don's guys showed up without any notice or even a advance call, so I had to go scrambling to get materials and parts for them to install some ceiling fans outside lighting and resolve a couple other electrical issues. When the bill came in it was humongous, let it be known that I paid for the majority of the parts but his staff did go to the electrical supply house to buy a few items a couple hours later the electrician showed back up and installed the minuscule parts include light bulbs I already had 4 recessed lighting and some outside security lights. The outside security lights are not mounted properly in the range of coverage evenly across the front of the property and they were just seemingly to be thrown wherever they wanted then rather than going around the corner and putting it down a walkway they left that area completely dead without any lighting. [remember rentals need lighting to avoid injuries and law suits]So my complaint is more amount of time that it took to accomplish these tasks and where the positioning of the lighting was installed. I have made don aware of these problems originally years past and have been waiting till one day his crew is back out here to rectify the problem. Don personally reduced the bill knowing that it was excessive and I was going to wait until the next time that his crew was going to be out here to resolve the other problems of moving the lights. Come to the current situation I'm ready for some additional work and have been in contact with Don for many months, now his bookkeeper returns my phone call and claims I had a remaining balance that was never paid and they refuse to do any additional work for me. That's really interesting since I negotiated the bill with Don eons ago as she knew that there were some definite major mistakes in their workmanship. Guess my next electrician will resolve the lighting issue. For the office staff running off business remember this when times slow down for you!

Don is a very personable guy and he did everything I asked. And I was asking a lot. He and his staff were fast, friendly and got the jobs done quickly and efficiently. I will only use them for the future as I know it will be done right and right the first time.

I had a very positive experience with Don Hegge Electric. They provided an electrical inspection for our home in La Quinta and they were on time, very professional, courteous and helpful. They explained everything and answered all of my questions. I called their office with a follow up question and got a prompt and helpful response. These guys are great!
My a/c went out, I called my a/c guy, he said I needed an electrician.
I called Don Hegge, they were there within an hour! Had everything up and running In no time.
Chris was the electrician, nice guy, and the bill was reasonable.

Very professional, dependable electrician. I highly recommend him. He has fixed lights and a ceiling fan on remote that have never worked properly when we remodeled our house over four years ago. He is the best electrician in the valley.

I work for a contractor in the Thermal area, and Hegge does great work. We do just about everything with him. Ignore the negative reviews. If you are in the Construction industry they are great!
