I recently used Dollens Electric to rewire the majority of my house, replacing the old knob and tube wiring with modern and safe (code compliant) wiring. It was a fairly big job, which included relocating and upgrading the service panel on my house and almost three weeks of work. We also added Cat6 cabling and installed home theater speaker cable runs. Jason and his colleagues were excellent, providing very clear communication and doing thorough work. All work was done with permits, which were arranged by Dollens Electric and everything went smoothly with the inspections. I will definitely use Dollens Electric in the future for any additional work.

I really wanted to like these guys. I am in favor of local, family run companies, but this one lacked some basic professionalism that I would expect. I called them for a basic electrical panel upgrade and emailed them photos within minutes of hanging up. The receptionist (who is part of the family) said I would get a call back that day, but I got nothing. Two days later I got a response to my email (but not the promised call back) I responded to the email, then waited two more days before I had to call them back. Then, the best they could do was schedule a visit a week later. All this just to get a simple quote for a relatively well known job. Maybe they do good work, maybe they don't. They come off as super flaky and unprofessional, and they could have avoided this with a simple and quick phone call, or hitting the reply button on an email. I was planning to spend thousands, but maybe I dodged a bottle here...

We needed to have our main electrical panel replaced in mid 2018, and after researching several options, we tapped Dollens for the work. Jason came out promptly to inspect the required work and, provided a thorough and very competitive estimate. The work was scheduled quickly based on our availability, and we were back up and running the same day. Jason and his team arrived right on time, were very professional and courteous. They communicated with us throughout the job and their work was excellent!

In June, 2019 we wanted to add Ring Security Cameras with Lighting and Doorbell to our home. Since several of the desired locations to place the cameras around our home were not already wired for outside electrical, we reached out to Dollens again. Once again, Jason and Josh came out promptly for a thorough review of the project, they made a few recommendations for some additional work I was considering and they provided an estimate the same day. Josephine followed up to schedule the work for ~1 week out, which was perfect. The job required 2 days to complete, mainly because of some odd existing wiring in my garage installed by the previous owner. Jason did a great job installing the Ring cameras and lighting, as well as sorting out the incorrect wiring. Jason and Josh finished the job on the next visit, and bother did wonderful work. We are now 100% protected by the Ring Security, and also have great lighting inside our garage!

I highly recommend Dollens, and will call them again when we need any further electrical work!

We bought three ceiling fans to replace existing, older fans. The big, home improvement store we bought the fans from couldn't do the installation because one fan required more complex installation. We had good experiences when Dollens Electric installed a 220 volt car charger and an electric cook top for us so I didn't hesitate to use them again. They are consistently professional and friendly. In addition to installing the ceiling fans, they made us aware that the dimmer switch controlling the fan in the kitchen was not recommended as it could lead to burnout of the fan; they quickly replaced it with a regular switch (I will admit I put in the dimmer switch myself because I thought it would be nice to have one). In addition, when we discussed not liking the remote control feature of the ceiling fans and asked if they could remove the remote control receiver from our fourth ceiling fan (one they were not replacing), they promptly removed it; one less nuisance to worry about.

This was our third very positive experience with Jason and Dollens Electric. I highly recommend them.

This company is great. They were always on time and great at communicating both time estimates and costs. They are very thorough, knew current codes inside and out, and were always willing to explain how and why they were doing things. This is a great group of professionals and I will use them for all my electric work in the future. I couldn't be happier with the work they are doing for us.

Our project was a lot of major changes - replacing both the main and sub-main electric panels, adding multiple circuits, and installing new lighting throughout the house. Their attention to detail in the lighting layout was perfect. They are worth every penny.

Last year water made it into my outside electrical panel through a leaky weather head. After getting quotes from one company with a quote that seemed absurd, I called Jason and got a reasonable quote at half the price!
We discussed what was going on, and in the end, he came and found a solution that was much lower cost and addressed all the safety concerns present.
I was very happy and had them come back and run an EV charge line to my garage and a new grounded run to my office (since we have an old house without grounding on many outlets).
The finally Woohoo came tonight. You see - he put in a NEMA 14-50 plug after recommending a good EV charger. In a cruel twist a family member sent me a new charger that uses NMEA 6-50 (D'OH!). I'd been busy, but finally emailed for a course of action. Same evening I got a response with what needs to be done.
I feel that Dollen's Electric management is fair with pricing, clearly knowledgeable regarding codes and best practices, and perhaps best in my mind, forthright. I never felt I was sold something I didn't need or ever be told something that was untrue. This is the kind of tradesmen we need more of.

A few years ago, Dollens did a bit of work on our house, and it went very well, and I felt the person who came was very knowledgeable and willing to explain as well as work with our requests. In late 2018, though, we scheduled an estimate which started with a no-show. The second attempt was on the wrong day, and the third attempt finally worked out. However, it's 2019 now, and there's been no estimate given despite several follow ups. It's time to move on to a new electrician despite their excellent service in the past.
