We hired Doctor Home Experts on January 28, 2023. We had a tornado in Deer Park and it ripped out the electrical riser, weatherhead, entrance wire and guying kit from our electrical panel on our office building.

Doctor Home Experts replaced and repaired the weatherhead, entrance wire and installed guying kit. After the repairs the representative (Joe Padilla- Project Manager) told us do to the extensive electrical damage to all the power lines near us we needed to install a ""Whole Building Eaton brand SURGE PROTECTOR"" so the surges would not damage all of our office equipment. The charge was $500 dollars and we accepted and had this surge protector installed.

Fast forward to July 18, 2023; our staff showed up to our office to work only to find the building full of smoke and you could smell plastic burning.

Upon investigation we found several interior surge protectors burned and they sent black burning plastic all over the office.

We called Doctor Home Experts however they did not respond so we were forced to hire another electrical company to come out and repair the damages and tell us what happened.

It turns out the ""whole office Surge Protector"" they installed at the electrical panel was installed incorrectly and actually wasn't a commercial Eaton branded surge protector. It was a residential product called a ""tough defender"" and is made for residential homes. It retails for $55 dollars.

We were promised if we payed this $500 dollars for this surge protector it would eliminate the possibility of damaging all of our in office, plugged in appliances and office equipment. Well this was not true.

We contacted this company several times and no action was taken to correct this issue. We had to file a complaint with the Texas Department of licensing & regulations and have also since filed a claim in small claims court to recover our damages.

I am writing this to warn any past or future customers of this issue and to warn anyone this company is dishonest and will rely on you not being an electrician to sell you something that won't work or is not compatible to your needs.

They are very dishonest and even beyond that they will run and not make it right and you will be forced like me to spend time, money and energy to get them to do the right thing.

If you encounter this company don't walk.............run because the will rip you off.

I got a quo to repair 5 plugs. It was over $1700. I got the work done by IEW Electrical Services for $674

We specifically contacted this company because they claim to be experts in pool & hot tub wiring. However, they came out and diagnosed what we already knew and told us to contact a hot tub wiring expert. They charged us over $100 to tell us what we already knew and could not provide a repair estimate because they ""don't do what their website claims"".

Very dishonest told me one price to get me in the home and then told me it would be another once he arrived. I then allowed him to fix a light fixture, I paid 200 for him to replace a light fixture . When he completed the job I the light twitched I asked him if he would fix it before leaving because that's what happen before the light caught fire previously he said that would be an additional 200 to fix the fixture he just installed.

Buyer Beware - They will show up perhaps unannounced and begin work but not fix anything they installed a $0.50 doorbell and caulked around it not even inspecting the electrical issue, *(there was no power to the doorbell). Carlos knew it and never went inside house or anything for inspection, he installed a cheap plastic doorbell that doesnt work and then asked for $133 cash or check PUSHY, i wasnt home at the time and I know way he wanted the cash and check upfront SO HE CAN RUN with the money, If you use credit card you can dispute the charges cash or check your out of luck. Predatory business practice. *** Advice to all never pay upfront like this company demands!

We had breakers trip repeatedly. We called this company late afternoon Thursday and their Electric Department came the following business day to assess! The breaker box that they installed last year was reviewed and confirmed in excellent working order. The cause? The AC. Their AC Department came out the following business day and assessed, GM quoted me and the following business day, the system was replaced. They gave me options. This whole experience was stress free! The crew was totally understandable, patient with all my questions and observing, helpful, respectful and left my home spotless!

I'm so mad I am shaking we lost power to 3 rooms in our house this morning this morning and try to fix it ourselves by just looking and see we if we needed to trip to breakers, that did not seem to help so we called this company and was told it was a $125 fee plus $89 but the $89 would go towards any repairs as needed. Carlos arrived that is the technician and promptly told me that it is a $125 the $89 does not and will not go towards any repairs I told him this is not what I was told he said that this is they made a mistake but the Indian dollars will not go to any repairs so Carlos went and checked on the panel I called the office and spoke to a nice young lady who told me that she would get it taken care of I'm not sure what happened if Carlos got pissed but he came back to me and told me it's a $10000 repair job And that hes gonna report me to centerpoint and standpoint will come and pull their meter not very happy I told him No way then he proceeded to tell me that they could financially they have finance for any credit I said no that's that's when he told me that hes gonna contact his master electrician and they're going to see how and what direction they want to go so pretty much they are coercing and threatening me

We are unhappy with the services rendered. Your bid exceeded $1000 to fix lights that we were able to get another electrician to complete, troubleshooting and repair, for under $240. We will not be using your company in the future.
