I give Derek and his work a five star rating based on the job completed and the knowledge provided. He did exactly what needed to be done to remedy the faulty outlet that was creating a spark every time we turn on the switch which was a fire hazard. He also explained why it was happening, verify that the line was the appropriate gauge and got the issue corrected. He also explained to me why situations like the one that was occurring based on the type of wiring my house has how to prevent from me overloading the line. It was a same-day appointment and now I have power back in my kitchen and dining room. Will use his services again when needed.

On Sunday evening, I lost half of the power in the house. I contacted several electricians via Yelp. Derek contacted me within an hour, told me how much he would charge for his services, came to the house and diagnosed the issues on the same day. He was able to come back on Wednesday with supplies, and thankfully power was restored. Right after that, there was another electric issue I noticed. He returned to my house and fixed it without charging extra.

I had Derek come out to diagnose an issue with the microwave not heating. He and his technician came out, opened it, put it back as is, tried it, and of course it didn't work. He then said the cost of replacing it would be cheaper than fixing, and took the money, but without actually diagnosing the issue or telling me what's wrong.

It took me a couple of hours of watching YouTube to know that it was simply a 4$ switch that needed to be replaced instead of replacing a 900$ microwave oven.

1 star for committing to diagnose an issue he has no idea about.

Derek and his employee came to my home on a horrible rainy day because the outlets in my living room were dead. He was responsive, fast and listened to our concerns. He determined the issue quickly after a thorough review which is no easy feat when you are walking into a home that has gone through several remodels. Within an hour he knew what was wrong, implemented the fix and charged a fair rate. Derek Ng was right on time; after he assessed our electrical problem he promptly told us he would solve the problem conservatively thus charging us a minimal amount which was greatly appreciated. Derek also said if what he did did not solve our problem he would come out again and try Plan B which is the most expensive route. We truly recommend DKNG for your electrical needs.
