I really appreciated the professionalism of these guys. They just left after hanging a large and heavy light fixture in my 18 foot foyer. They made sure it was aligned properly, that the shades were clean and straight, and even used a microfiber cloth to clean the glass parts. They also installed a new plug for me. All the work was reasonably priced, and in addition they were just really nice gentlemen. Highly recommend!

I recently moved and had a light fixture to install. After a quick web search, I chose to call Divin after reading some positive reviews and they were located around corner from my house. The guy that came out (Bill I think) was nice and installed the fixture and a dimmer for it. Everything was prewired and he was here less than 30 mins. He said let me call my boss (the owner?) and see what to charge you - I figured this was a pretty standard ~$100 deal. Comes back in and they decided it would be $260!! I've never felt so ripped off. Highly recommend looking elsewhere for electrical work.

We have used Divin Electrical for over 10 years. The very first time we used him, he came out to evaluate an issue at our home with some lights flickering. He determined that it was actually a problem that the electic company was responsible for repairing. He didn't charge us anything because he said he felt he hadn't done anything! So we continued to give him our business. Michael Divin is very responsive, courteous, and honest. When we lost electricity after Huricane Ike and Harvey, he came to our home the same day we called, to hook up our generator, so that we could use our refrigerator, celing fans, and an A/C window unit. At our older home, he was able to come up with innovative ways to install under cabinet lighting, canned lighting, and speckers in ceilings where there wasn't attic access. He's always given us reasonable quotes on all work and never charged us more than what was quoted. I would highly recommend this company!.

Never able to do anything when they told me they would do it. I hired them to completely replace the electrical service entrance on a 60 year old house. Replace the meter can and riser and the main breaker box inside the house. I approved their bid on September 30, 2014 and they finally showed up on October 23rd to do the work. I know people are busy and I was fine with it until I realized they do EVERYTHING that way! They finished the work in a few hours and the work was a little sloppy too (ran a separate circuit to my furnace air handler unit and draped the wire over stuff because they cut it short so it wasn't properly fastened to the framework in the attic - cutting corners - sloppy work). It took them over 3 weeks to get the power company to come back out and reinstall the meter. CenterPoint kept saying there were minor issues that weren't up to code. What? They finally got that done. They did not label the breaker box as is required by code though. A full year later, I was having problems with incorrect voltage. One side of the breaker box had 105 volts and one side had 130 volts. I called and called and after a month, someone finally came out and tinkered with the meter and said it was fixed. He was leaving and I asked if he checked it and he had not. When he checked the voltage, it was still incorrect. He went back to the meter and finally said the meter was bad. It took them a week to call the power company and tell them (they were the contractor and the job still was not complete - all the way back from September 2014). After I called them again a week later to remind them to call CenterPoint, they came out and said it was a grounding problem that had to have existed from the very beginning of the work the contractor had done on the service entrance upgrade. Amazing! The people at Divin Electric still didn't act like it was important even a year after they were hired to do the job and it still wasn't finished and it posed a fire hazard and an electrocution hazard and had blown-out my 240-volt dryer electronic controls twice. The dryer repair technician is who found the problem when he checked the wiring voltage. I could have done that myself but I NEVER EXPECTED THERE TO BE A PROBELM WITH A COMPLETELY NEW ELECTRIC SERVICE ENTRANCE AND BREAKER BOX UPGRADE!!! There are more details to this story that are relevant but it would just take too much to write them all down. I will not change my story but I will certainly update my review with positive information if they call me to follow-up and act interested in seeing if my electric service is FINALLY operating like it is supposed to! Like what I paid them for in the first place but I am positive they will not!

I have used Divin electric for years. Installation of panels and fixtures, rewires, etc. They have always done a great job and done it at a very reasonable price. Working with electricity can be dangerous. It is important to have a company that you can trust do you electrical work. I'm am happy to refer them out and confident whenever I do.

""Gave me the Run Around""

In mid June of 2014 I had Divin Electric stop by for a project. They failed to show up the first day, but came out the next. (I had had to take off work on both occasions to meet them at the job site.) Michael Divin said he'd have the estimate ready for me by Monday morning. That entire week past. I e-mailed and he said he was working on the estimate. Then another week passed. I had e-mailed him with more information hoping to prompt him. He merely replied ""Thank you."" Then an entire month passed and I contacted him on 7/23. The short of it is today is 9/5/14 and after several texts, e-mails and phone calls, over the next month or so, and more calls this week, with promises he'd call me back later that day, only to hear nothing. This morning was the last straw. They called, apologized for not returning my call yesterday (again) and said he was working on the estimate and would have it to me by noon today. (""working on it?"" In early conversations he was acting like he thought he had already sent it!). Well, needless to say, nothing came by noon today, not even at 4:30 (and this time they didn't even answer when I tried calling about it). So I left a message that I was no longer in doing business with his company.

I have had the run around for too long (I don't know why I let it go on this long). I am disgusted with this level of treatment. They are either too busy to take on more jobs or not interested in my business. Either way, I have no faith in the company any longer and would doubt they would show up to do the job even if contracted.

Don't let their smooth website fool you. Save yourself the headache and stay away from this company.
