Our Santa Cruz home needed all electrical plugs in the kitchen, 3 bathrooms, and outdoors updated to GFI. We also wanted to replace the dining room chandelier. Dave and Joe came to give us an estimate: they were on time, listened to our needs, and gave us a fair bid, which we accepted.

Dave and Joe came back as scheduled, promptly completing the work within the time frame they had set up. We really appreciate the team's professionalism, competence, timeliness, and respect for our property.

Called Direct Electric yesterday because a breaker was out that was connected to our water heater and we didn't have hot water. They came out this morning and they took a look and explained what most likely happened. Everything returned back to normal and they didn't even charge us for the service call! We recently moved to Aptos, and we have several items on our punch list. We needed an electrician, so we asked our realtor for a recommendation. We called her guy but did not hear from him for a week.

We searched the internet and discovered Direct Electric. They had 85 5-star reviews on Yelp. Dave, the owner, answered my initial call and we scheduled him to look at the job. He arrived at the promised time, giving us a heads up when he was on his way to our home. We wanted to move two bathroom GFI outlets and install power for a new fireplace insert. Dave looked at the job and told us that each bathroom should be on a separate circuit. He also looked at the fireplace and described in detail what he would do. He gave a written estimate on the spot and said the job would take him and his partner Joe 1/2 day. We signed the estimate and scheduled the work in two days around 8:00 am. On the expected job day, he called at 8 to say he was 10 minutes away.

Dave and Joe worked non-stop for 3 1/2 hours. Parts of the job required two people while the others were one-person jobs. They worked as an experienced team. The fireplace required unique wiring, so they made an outside trip to get the necessary parts. Dave and Joe completed all three tasks without any issues.

They did a professional, meticulous job. Dave is a talented electrician, an excellent communicator and customer focussed. Direct Electric is a two-person company that performs like a larger company. We plan to use Direct Electric for future electrical work.

They are first class people, very capable of diagnosing electrical issues and able to determine remedies with minimum cost to the clients. Don't we all wish such services from all providers? Dave came out to fix a broken doorbell. Of course, when he got here it was working. He was kind enough to look at all the equipment, and everything seemed fine. He pointed out what might have gone wrong, asked that we call him if it fails again, and didn't charge for the appointment. We have used them in the past for other household electrical issues and we will definitely use them in the future.
