Before installing attic insulation over knob and tube wiring, insulation companies require an electrician to inspect and certify that the old wiring is in good enough condition to cover with insulation. Not all electricians are wiling to do this type of work. Smiley was responsive in returning my call, made a convenient and prompt appointment, and showed up on time. The inspection went smoothly and he's very easy to work with, especially if you use SDI for the insulation work.

For knob and tube attic inspection purposes, he was reasonably priced and very professional.

I called in to fix a circuit that my appliance repair guy said was faulty when he attempted to repair my electric dryer. Smiley was very punctual did some quick troubleshooting and advised me that the old breaker will take a few days to find and purchase. Luckily, with Similey's guidance on how to locate and order one quickly online, he was able to get it fixed the following day when the replacement breaker arrived to complete the job. Always punctual and a true experienced professional who educates his customers as well.

Smiley at Diamond Electric was on time, friendly, and professional. He came in first to assess the problem with our existing attic gable fan, which wasn't working. Instead of just telling us to replace the old fan or promoting the most expensive fix, he said that he would ask his suppliers for a replacement motor and if that was the problem, he would replace just the motor, which would keep the cost down. A few days later he called to let us know that he couldn't find a replacement motor and asked us what we wanted to do. It's summer and really hot in the attic, so we decided to just replace the fan. We scheduled a time, he arrived early and replaced the old fan and put in a new switch in just a few hours. While he was here, we asked him to do a quick repair on another electrical problem we were having in the house. He did the fix quickly and free of charge.

We had an outlet that blew, but the breaker didn't get tripped so we were worried. I called Diamond Electric in the morning and he talked me through the problem on the phone. That same day Smiley came out exactly when he said he would and assessed the problem then quickly replaced the outlet and fixed wiring. He also took the time to answer questions about other electrical concerns we had after the job was completed. Couldn't ask for anything better! :)

Like other reviewers, Smiley was recommended to us by the company we hired to do insulation in our attic. He came in to do a check of all our attic wiring, and while he was here, we asked him for quotes for a few other jobs at our house--installing an attic/roof fan, putting an outlet outside our house, and fixing the broken lights in our garage.

His quotes were reasonable, and he even offered to fix the lights in our garage free of charge. (That ended up being a much bigger job than any of us anticipated, and he stuck to his word and still completed it for free--parts and labor.) All of the jobs were completed in a timely and professional manner. Smiley had to come to our house 3 times in total, and each time he was prompt and gave us a courtesy text to let us know when he was on his way.

Based on our positive experiences, I would highly recommend Smiley for all your electrical needs.

Bonus: He was really nice and polite to our very curious 2-yr-old son who asked lots of questions and hovered behind Smiley much of the time he was here working. :)

I had Diamond Electric out today to install a 220 plug for a new stove. I couldn't be more pleased. Smiley, owner/electrician, was prompt, experienced, efficient, and just an all round good guy.
