Our home in Belmont still had mostly old knob and tube wiring. It had been on my mind for quite some time to update the wiring to code and a recent fire of a house in the neighborhood, most likely started by faulty wiring, made us pull the trigger. DeLuca Electric came with a lot of recommendations for this kind of a job.
Dominic from DeLuca Electric quickly answered my first email/call and we made an onsite appointment. Dominic is very easy to talk to and listens to your requests. He also let me know, that it was not possible for him to predict how much damage on the drywall it will take to get the whole house rewired, because it's not possible to see behind the walls and I appreciated his honesty.
Dominic arranged all the permit work with the city of Belmont and also arranged all the visits with the inspector. That was really a big help for us, because we both are working and it would have been difficult to fit the visits of the inspector into our schedule !
We had an about 2 months waiting time between signing the contract and when they started the work. DeLuca is in high demand, because they do really good work. So if you need some work done, just prepare yourself for a little bit of lead time. They finished the work in about 8 days and there were no complains. There was just one switch in the garage that needed to be moved after they were finished, but this was done quickly by Dominic's team as well. All in all, we can highly recommend DeLuca Electric for their clean, honest and thorough work. This was definitely not a simple project but we are very happy with the result. We needed an EV charger put in and we had heard great things about DeLuca. They weee responsive and their pricing was fair. While installing it they discovered an issue with a separate breaker and made a separate trip to the warehouse to grab a breaker at no extra charge. Talk about professional. Highly recommend.

We hired DeLuca Electric to upgrade our electrical panel from 90 amps to 200 amps, expand and move our old sub-panel to make it code-compliant, rewire our whole 2000 sq ft house that had ancient knob-and-tube wiring, and install a 40 amp electric car charger. We had gotten quotes from three other businesses but decided to move forward with DeLuca Electric as they seemed to be the most experienced at this. One of the business we reached out to wanted to basically rip open a lot of the dry wall and quoted a ridiculous price, another quoted a lower price but they did not seem to have much experience with rewiring, while a third was not only pricier but also quoted a longer time to finish the job, so we did not proceed with either of them.

Dominic stopped by first to examine the house and assess the scope of the work. He recommended that we also move our main panel to the side of the house given we were planning to upgrade it anyway. Thanks to his suggestion, our backyard looks a lot cleaner now, with good views that are unobstructed from all the wires that were hanging over it previously. Along the way they also identified some light fixtures (recess lights) which were poorly installed and fixed it for a reasonable fee. All along they were patient with our questions and very responsive.

Dominic promised to finish the job in two weeks but they delivered it AHEAD OF SCHEDULE. This helped us move into our house according to our original plan, on time. Dominic, Gonzalo and the rest of the crew at DeLuca electric did an amazing job, we only had about 20 small 4x4 holes in the drywall that needed to be patched when they had finished. We are very satisfied with their work, they are very professional and the price was reasonable.

After a lot of consideration, my wife and I decided to replace the old knob and tube wiring in our 1946-vintage home. We ended up using DeLuca Electric, a local company recommended by a friend. This was not a small job but it only took just over a week to complete, with minimal disruptions. We were very impressed with the overall quality of the work and with two very hard working electricians, Jerry and Eduardo. They did a great job--very safe (always masked), efficient and professional. I would not hesitate to use DeLuca Electric again or to recommend the company to others. They do very high quality work.

The fan in the fan/light/heater unit in the bathroom wasn't working. Instead of trying to fix it I decided to replace the entire unit. I contacted Dominic (he had done a previous job) and asked for a quote. He responded quickly. I checked with other companies and found I preferred dealing with Dominic. Once I gave him the go ahead to do the job he got the fixture (I had given him the size of the hole in the ceiling and he found a unit that fit perfectly without my having to patch any holes) and had it installed. He is quick to respond by text/email/phone. I will definitely call Dominic again for other electrical needs.

Dominic and his crew are pure professionals. If you want your job done correctly, call DeLuca Electric. We asked Dominic to get a lot of different things done and they did them all very professionally! When hiring for projects, I want teams that will do what they say they are going to do and will take the time to get things done right rather than just done. This is exactly how Dominic and his team work.

1) During a remodel by the previous owners, electrical was added in conduits on top of the roof. This is fine except that the roof needed to be replaced and replacing it with the rat's nest of metal conduits was going to make that very difficult. DeLuca redid all that electrical and buried it in the roof after the old one was removed. This was a VERY complicated job.

2) They installed 11 new light fixtures in two bedrooms.

3) They redid our main panel to the street, handling all the permitting and the timing with PG&E.

4) They redid the wiring from one subpanel to another, doubling the capacity and removing another unneeded subpanel in the process.

5) They added a dedicated 50A car charging breaker and installed a standard NEMA 14-50R outlet for an electric car's level 2 charger.

6) And finally, they redid the low power coax from the street to where it connects inside the house and ran two CAT6 lines from one side of the house to the other.

HUGE job done on time and for the quoted price. I'd hire DeLuca again in a heartbeat! Thank you Dominic!

Dominic and Gonzalo wired and installed both an attic fan and whole house fan in our San Mateo home. Dominic responded to our initial inquiry quickly and was over about 5 days later to have a look, give his suggestions, and answer questions. As promised, he followed up with a written quote the next day, which was at the top end of our budget, but I expected that from a highly recommended electrical contractor and qualified workers.

Only downside was the wait. With all the construction and remodeling going on here on the peninsula (and Dominic in high demand) this also didn't surprise us. Luckily this summer hasn't been as hot as last year and we got the fans installed just in time for the last temp spike.

We received a follow up approx. 10 days out to get the install day scheduled. Dominic and Gonzalo arrived on time, got the job done as outlined and left the house as clean as when they arrived. I had a few follow up questions I emailed which he answered within 24 hrs.

Thanks Dominic. I definitely will use Deluca Electric for my future needs.

Oh yeah -- when Dominic was looking at my breaker panel in the back of the house he took one look at the main power line coming from the pole, which drooped down quite a bit into my backyard and told me to call PG&E and have them tighten it, which I did and PG&E fixed the same day. I didnt think it was really a safety issue, but their lineman agreed with Dominic -- it was too loose.

My experience with DeLuca Electric was a 10 out of 10. I was impressed that Dominic communicated quickly and professionally, so I was aware of his rates and MO before his technician arrived. Rene arrived early, installed 2 wall sconces and a dimmer with a minimum of holes and mess, exactly where I wanted them, in a short amount of time, and was very pleasant to work with.
