I began my full-time journey in the Decorative Concrete Overlay industry in 1989. A close college friend’s father patented one of the most unique and beautiful decorative concrete overlays at that time. He called it ""URO-TILE"".

That was in 1979, and the process was ahead of its time. He spent a considerable amount on independent lab strength tests, demonstrating that his method outperformed others in the market.

After working and learning alongside my friend for five or six years, I decided to venture out on my own. I remained committed to my education. For anyone interested in becoming an expert, there are plenty of resources and classes available.

The Portland Cement Association, along with many top manufacturers, provides outstanding educational opportunities. Many retailers conduct weekend seminars to stay current with industry trends.

I think the reason customers with 13-year-old overlays are usually pleased to see me is due to the quality of our installations. I pursued building construction in college, learned decorative concrete from leading professionals, and I keep studying to improve my expertise.
