Let Decorative Concrete Academy enhance your unattractive, stained concrete areas, including driveways, garage floors, pool decks, and patios. We will apply a new surface over your existing concrete. We will install a gorgeous, personalized stone design directly onto your current concrete surface.

You won’t need to worry about expensive, messy concrete removal. Your new surface will be securely bonded to the old concrete through mechanical and chemical means. Yes, it must be thoroughly cleaned and prepared, but this method has been trusted for decades to repair structural concrete, such as cracked load-bearing bridges and walls.

The new surface will only measure between 1/4 and 3/8 inch thick. You can select from a variety of custom stone styles. Styles range from brick and block to random stone and beyond.

This stone-like surface will be textured and resistant to slipping. It is resistant to stains and can be easily cleaned with soap and water. It remains cool and feels great underfoot.

I entered the Decorative Concrete Overlay industry full-time back in 1989. A very good friend from college had a father who created one of the most distinctive and beautiful decorative concrete overlays available at that time. He named it ""URO-TILE"".

That was in 1979, and the process was ahead of its time. He invested significantly in independent laboratory strength tests, proving his process was superior to others in the industry.

After five or six years of learning and working with my friend, I chose to start my own business. I remained committed to my education. There are numerous resources and classes for those who wish to learn and excel.

The Portland Cement Association and several leading manufacturers offer excellent classes. Numerous retailers host weekend seminars to keep up with industry advancements.

I feel that when I visit customers with overlays that are 13 years old, they are often happy to see me because they value the quality of our work. I studied building construction in college and learned decorative concrete from the best, and I continue to expand my knowledge.
