I wanted the outlets in my home upgraded/changed. I initially selected a highly rated firm with over a hundred reviews here on Yelp. How could I go wrong with this? When I was ready to request a quote, three additional firms were preselected. I was about to override this and just go with my first choice, but decided to leave the default selection of four firms. All four showed ""100% response rate."" This was Monday night.

The firm with the most reviews did respond, with a question. I answered the question and never heard back from them. This gave me some indication of how (un)reliable a 100% response rate could be.

The three other firms also responded - Brian Decker that evening shortly after I sent my request, the other two firms the next day.

When I spoke with Brian on Tuesday, it was clear that he understood, as he accurately reflected back to me in his own words the reality in which I found myself. This is communication. I asked if he wanted to come by or send someone to assess my situation, but he said it wasn't necessary and gave me a quote over the phone.

I had made an appointment with one of the other firms before speaking with Brian, so I waited for that firm's quote, then decided to go with Decker Electric (Brian's quote was about two hundred dollars lower). He made time for me Wednesday afternoon (today).

What can I say? His guys were great, and they did great work. I was happy to pay for their services. It was money well spent. I feel much better about my new home now.

(I contemplated posting a somewhat negative review of the other firm I mentioned above, but I'd rather spend my time posting a positive one here.)

I contacted Brian Decker via Yelp and requested a quote on Wednesday night, the only time I can really get things done due to my hectic schedule. Within minutes, Brian responded with a quote and said he was able to do it Thursday. After completing another job that took all day, Brian came to my home in the late afternoon with an hour of sunlight left to remount a disconnect that my son inadvertently ripped off my detached garage wall. It was so bad that a couple of sections of siding was damaged. Brian was able to take the existing disconnect and relocate it to cover the damaged siding and silicone seal the disconnect.

Job was completed quickly and professionally by Brian. Will definitely contact Decker electrical for future electrical projects! Mahalo Brian!

FANTASTIC from start to finish. Contacted Decker Electric, and got a phone call from Forrest within a short while. Initially set up an appointment for the next morning, but he called back and said he would be able to come that afternoon instead. He arrived exactly on time as he said, listened to our needs and made some possible suggestions on how to add two outlets in our wet bar. After spending a considerable amount of time with us, we finalized the way he was going to route the outlets from the circuit breaker box. HIs proposal for the job appeared to be very fair. The next morning (earlier than he had told us) he arrived, with his two assistants arriving soon thereafter. The three men did an amazing job. They were most respectful of our home, and attempted to make as little mess as possible. They vacuumed up the dirt when they were done. Forrest even used a label maker to label the new circuit breakers in the box.

We are not experts on electrical contractors, but if you are looking for an honest, return phone calls, arrive on time as promised electricical contractor, we don't think you could do better.

Had our old 40 gallon tank water heater go out and my family was having to take cold showers for a bit. I called around and ended up scheduling with Brian. He sent John over to install service for a new tankless electric water heater (Rheem RTEX-24) which works awesome by the way and keeps up with filling a tub. Service was great and our expert electrician Brian was a genuinely nice person. I would definitely recommend Decker Electric to a friend. NO MORE COLD SHOWERS! Shaka Out.

I am the type of person that only gives reviews if performance is really bad or if it is head-and-shoulders above the rest. This is maybe my 4th or 5th Yelp review EVER. I contacted Brian at Decker Electric on Tuesday for some emergency work as my double 50 amp main breaker seized up (corroded) and I lost power to half the house. He called me back multiple times at both numbers I left until he reached me. He was able to sneak me into the schedule for Wednesday. Excellent persistent communication & attention to the importance of a quick turn-around. He sent John out, who was very knowledgeable & thorough with the fix. We had power within an hour and the service call was completed in 2 hours. The price was very reasonable. John even helped me relabel my breakers because they were so poorly labeled prior to his visit.

Having had poor performance, excuses and questionable skill from prior electricians in the past, I was skeptical even with all of the other 5 star reviews (mainly because one of my previous electricians is one of the top rated for their courteous, talk story style where nothing in the day gets accomplished).

Both John and Brian restored my faith in finding a good electrician on this island. I have so much more to fix, and these are my go to guys going forward. They got in, got it done RIGHT and didn't overcharge.

I have used the services of this company twice so far. Both times I have had very good work done at reasonable prices. Prompt arrival, quality work, neat clean up, and good prices. I've had grounded wiring/outlets and upgraded breakers added to a 60 year old home. They have trouble shot and repaired the electrical parts of the solar water heater. I would recommend them to any one on both large and small jobs and will use them next time work is needed on that old house.

This company was a lifesaver for me! The owner came out himself to fix a burned out outlet in a house I inherited from my mother and had listed to sell. He found a number of code violations that a prior solar company went around without telling my mother, and he fixed all of them within one day, working late into the night because he knew we were under time pressure to sell. I could tell he really cared about his work and knew what he was doing, The cost was also very reasonable. I would highly recommend Decker Electric LLC to anyone who needs electrical work.
