My upstairs unit, a one and a half ton unit, was not cooling properly. Called a heating and air company, who came out and said the only cure was to replace the unit for several thousand dollars. I got a written quote from them and told them I would consider it.
I then called Decatur Heat and Air. They sent out a technician in just a few hours. The technician, Nathaniel, was very courteous and very efficient. He checked out the unit and told me it would cost about $325 to fix. He added two pounds of freon and the unit is now working like new! Needless to say, I was relieved to save several thousand dollars. Nathaniel is definitely an asset to Decatur Heat and Air. I would recommend this company to anybody.

My experience with Decatur Heat & Air has been great from the get-go. They were scheduled to be here Wednesday but asked if they could move it up to Tuesday because they'd had a cancelation. Absolutely, I said!
My service person was Scott, and he got here within 10 minutes. He was professional, knowledgeable, and courteous, and even though it was 106° outside and probably 120° in the attic, he didn't cut corners or disregard any of my concerns. He was efficient and thorough and went above and beyond normal customer service.
I will refer them to everyone I know. This company puts the service back in customer service!

What do you do when everyone in town has their AC go out? Call around, get blown off, get treated rudely, then wait for Decatur Heat & Air to show up! Which they did.
As I told my friends, they installed my original unit. They did the upgrades. They always show up when I call. They always call back. When there is a lot of problems, the owner Sean shows up and makes it right. When they can no longer put a band-aid on it... which they did for like 5 years, LOL!... they offer killer financing to get you through a tough spot.
While a few of the new people in the office don't know how to call you back, the ones that have been there for a while, really know to run a good business!
Biggest problem, you never call these guys when life is perfect. It's always when your system is overheated in 100+ degree heat, or frozen solid when it's 10 degrees in Texas!
Always have patience and mercy, and this company will often reward you well!

Very disappointed with Decatur Heat and Air. As everyone is nice over the phone for weeks now they continued to tell me they will ""call me back"" I have called over 10 times and repeatedly received the same answer but never once a call back. We originally waited 4 weeks for a part to come in which is understandable for parts but when they installed it they gave us a bad part. Now I can't get a hold of anyone to figure out when another new part will be here. They supposedly ""fixed"" my other unit but my gym is still over 90°. This makes us look terrible as a business not having a working air conditioning for over 7 weeks. Once we finally get this resolved they will not continue to have our business.

Being a regular customer, I called for service on my A/C for not cooling my house properly. After a six hour wait for a call back... was told my ""appointment"" for service would be NEXT WEEK! Need I say more? (and this is April not June!)

Do NOT use this business!!
We had Decatur Heat and Air install our unit in 2017, which came with a ten year warranty. The motor went out in August 2021, they charged us $433 for a new motor, which was under warranty.
Now, two months later, the heater is not working. We called another company to come take a look at it, the motherboard is fried, due to the wiring being backwards.
They are the most unprofessional and unethical company we have EVER dealt with.
Buyer beware!

Decatur Heat and Air replaced the unit in my attic a few years ago. The unit leaked air so I called the company and they sent out a technician who taped up the leaks on the unit. The unit wasn`t cooling very well so I went up to check the unit and found more leaks, I called the owner to come out and inspect the unit, he would not come out but did send out another technician who taped up more leaks, these are blowing out a lot of air. I called Trane and was informed the cause was poor installation so I called the company again but no one ever came out. If you use Decatur Heat and air to change out your attic unit, save yourself some money and buy duct tape by the case, you are going to need it. I gave them 5 stars because they are most likely the best company to keep your attic cool and heated during those times that you have to change out the filter.

Really liked these guys at first. Thought they were a stand up company. Won't do business with them again. Now I am out $600+ for a new mother board after they took my old board ( that wasn't bad )and now don't have it after 6 months when they were never supposed to take it in the first place. Owner Shawn could care less.

Had the a/c guy come out mentally expecting the worse. Our unit was obviously old when we bought the house and made quite a racket when it ran.
Chet was professional and courteous. Checked everything out and put in 3# of freon. $200 was way better than what my mind was anticipating.
He answered all my questions, offered some advice, fixed the rattle, and left my a/c running cold!
Very satisfied with Decatur Heat and Air.
