I am selling my condo and needed to redo the kitchen light before it goes on the market so I called Doug at DBS hoping he could help me in my short time crunch.

He was not only able to help me and did a great job but also his price tag was less than what I thought I would have to spend.

Sometimes it is much more efficient and better all around to hire a professional that actually knows what they are doing to do the work.

Doug helped us properly set up the electrical for a mini-frig in a barbique island. We needed him on short notice and he came through for us. He did a great job. Felt sorry for him because it was such a hot sunny day but not a complaint from him. In fact, he said sweating it out keeps him in shape. Such a good work ethic. He has got to be the friendliest electrician we have ever met. Will definitely use him for other electrical projects in the future.

I found myself on a Sunday night with half the power in my house out, and the breaker wouldn't reset. I work from home so I needed to get some help as my computer set up was in the downed half, as was the cable connection for WiFi.
Doug called me en route to his first morning appointment and promised to come out as soon as he finished that. He did. He was there in less than 90 minutes and though it was more complicated than we thought, he got me back in business [literally] in half an hour and had the parts he needed with him. I had him do a few extra things and learned a lot about electricity- like someoone who owns some SHOULD know...
The best recommendation actually comes from my dog, however. I am tempted to write a separate review from him.... I'll just include it here though:
Hi. I'm a good dog, but I am VERY protective of my human, and I screen everyone who comes to the door. Doug passed muster. He's a dog person, and also instantly noticed that I am a ""flight risk"". He was careful to respect that going in and out. I did not need to be on leash, and was able to supervise his work the whole time. This is important, not because I want to learn electricity, but because I am in charge of what comes in and goes out of the house. And walls. Everything checked out here, I'm given to understand that his pricing was very reasonable, and I'm good to go for his return visit to upgrade some outlets.
He does not have treats, but because he works with you even if you sit on his notebook, I'll give him a pass on that. G.

Doug is so honest and professional. I had some outlets not working and called him initially to book an appointment. He tried to help me over the phone as he first suspected a tripped GFI. I tried resetting some of the GFI's nearby the broken outlets and it didn't work.

He came for a service call and it turns out it was me forgetting to reset one of the circuit breakers. He didn't charge me a dime. He also give me a few tips for what to look for in the future when similar things happen.

Doug is just a great guy and would recommend him to anyone I know.

I can't say enough good things about an honest guy who shows up, does a very high quality job, and honors his pricing. Doug has a lot of pride in his work and went the extra mile to make sure our recessed LEDs were put in right and look great. He made sure to tarp and mask off the area, and cleaned up before he left at night so we wouldn't have a mess. Very polite and knowledgable. Recommend him to anyone.

I thought I had a bad GFI, or perhaps a bad circuit breaker, that was tripped and would not switch back on again. I spoke to Doug this morning, after calling 4 other electricians. The other electricians all wanted to come out and charge me a flat fee, to look at my problem. Doug took the time to ask me questions on the problem. Within a 5 minute conversation on the phone, my problem was fixed and I got a quick review of my GFI's and electrical panel. It did not cost me a dime. Doug is extremely knowledgeable, trustworthy, and honest. I would use him for any of my electrical work.

If you need an honest quote, honest efficient electrician , DBS is the person to call! After reading the reviews on Yelp, I decided to give him a call. He returned my call as some others that I found on Yelp did not even bother. As we all know, a good electrician is hard to find which makes them very busy people and that makes some people impatient. Doug was very busy and told us he would take care of us the next day in which some jobs are more difficult then expected . He came the next day which we were so grateful, and so very pleased with his work. I highly recommend Doug.

Judging by the other reviews, it would seem Doug is a great electrician - IF he troubles himself to call back and does the work - but that's a very big IF. I had the same experience as several other reviewers. I called him and he called me a couple of times and we missed each other as often happens. I placed the last call to him and told him to please call again - I really needed to schedule the work. He never called back. Unreliable/irresponsible. It's probably just as well. I'm better off than I would have been if he started a job, left for the day, and decided he didn't feel like coming back.

I ended up having Ace Electric do the job and they were great!

Called DBS Electric (Doug) after finding them & reading the reviews on Yelp. After quoting me his hourly rate & how long he thought he would be at my place working, I gave him the okay & within two hours he was at my place diagnosing my electrical problem (flickering lights & sparking from my electrical panel). He did what he could to 'quick fix' the issue and told me I would need a replace my entire electrical panel in the future. He quoted me a price and told me that he would credit the work for the quick fix, if and when I decided to replace my panel.

Doug was upfront, professional and very honest. Before deciding on replacing my panel I talked to Doug a couple of times and he was very patient in answering every question I had for him.

Within a week I called him to schedule the work to be done. We picked a date that was two weeks later. He was on time, and completed the work quickly, which was welcomed as it was a very hot day and the thought of the house being without power for an extended period of time with my wife and daughter at home was not a pleasant thought at all. He even installed a larger panel in the house than what was there before in case we needed to expand in the future.

I highly recommend DBS Electric for any electrical work that you need to get done. I know if I have anything electrical that needs to be done in the future, Doug will be my first and only call.
