We've used David Lovins for years in multiple houses. He's helpful, well priced and an overall nice guy who does great work. Recently my mom was having work done in a new house she bought. She told him that she wanted to build built Ins in a few months and he suggested he come back once the built Ins we're complete so his work would look more polished, as if it was installed with the built Ins. Basically, he's not just trying to make a buck $$$. He's kind and helpful and helped us make an overall better decision for her house. We highly recommend him and his work for everyone!

David Lovins was hired to repair our solar power system. It took five months of waiting to get the job done. David rarely answers his phone and doesn't return calls

The final straw was on the last day of installation. David didn't even show up, but sent one of his trainees to finish the job. The trainee wanted to leave early and told me, the home owner, to complete the installation for him. Wanting to get this done I tried, but couldn't. He left the job site refusing to help me or wait while I got help. It was 2:30pm and he was ready to call it a day!

On top of that trash and cigarette butts all over my driveway. Completely unprofessional from start to finish. Avoid at all costs

Lovins Electric was hired to upgrade a sub panel (wiring/conduit) via the sellers on a home we recently closed on.

[[TLDR:: They used the wrong tools to cut conduit ports into our log cabin siding (chisels and sawzall) which severely damaged our home's siding and interior walls. Electrical work can often require detailed carpentry skill. After my experience, I'm convinced that no one working at Lovins Electric has any passion for their craft or I wouldn't be writing this.]]

The damage was very obvious and not reporting it to us was a blatant sign of dishonesty and lack of integrity. They then covered the large gaps with mounds of caulk, about a whole tube in two locations.

So moving forward, we attempted to reach out to Lovins with our concerns and couldn't get anyone on the phone or to reply to email for a week. Without permission or even any discussion, they sent someone over to ""repair"" the hack job they previously did. Even though our email clearly stated we were very upset about the damage to our new home and to please take no physical action on the home, that we wanted to merely discuss the situation in person on site. The repair was even worse, causing further damage to our home (see pics). They used our ladder (big contractor ""no-no"") and got paint on it (petty, but shows how lazy they were). They threw paint rollers and some debris from the job into our woods.

A few days later I finally receive a call from David. I realized quickly what kind of company he runs. He couldn't meet me on site for another week and did not offer anything remotely close to an apology.

Fast forward a week. David (owner) was suppose to meet me on site to discuss why/how this happened, but he didn't. Without notice he sent one of his guys who showed up in sedan with a small ladder and more caulk. ? He carried the same attitude as David; pretty much- we got your sub panel fixed, not sure what we can do to fix your siding we damaged. It was a highly unprofessional and awkward engagement in which he provided no solutions aside from more caulk. He was fully aware that I was upset about the wildly excessive caulking mind you. Simply put, they do not care! Even in your physical presence.

At this point it's clear I wouldn't let them ever touch my home again. I called my trusted handyman for an estimate to repair the damages, make it water tight, and aesthetically pleasing. ~$500 to repair this hack job. Thankfully my buyers agent is willing to reimburse this estimate as Lovins was not. Lovins only offered to throw more caulk on it. Unbelievable. Total disregard for any complaints or concerns coupled with some of the poorest quality work I have ever seen.

Not only was David's quote lower than other electricians his service was fast and reliable, installing network wiring in our office. I will definitely use him again.
