David Gray launched the company in 1983 from the back of a Plymouth Duster (which was a sedan, not a van or truck). At first, calls came into his father-in-law's furniture store and were handled by furniture sales staff. The business grew to a level that required an office and a dedicated staff.
The company is genuinely a family-run operation. At various times, David's wife, father, father-in-law, brother-in-law, son, daughter(s), and niece have all been part of the company. David's son and brother-in-law are now co-owners and play key roles in running the company with him.
From that Plymouth Duster, the company has grown to include over thirty-five service crews and more than 70 staff members. In 1980, David Gray started David Gray Plumbing, Inc., and we have been offering excellent plumbing repair services in Jacksonville, FL ever since. Our team consists of the finest plumbers and certified HVAC technicians in Jacksonville.

About two years ago we detected water accumulating outside of our shower. Called David Gray and they sent out Buddy. Buddy put tape over the drain, ran the shower and when he saw water accumulating determined we had a pan leak. Because the shower has glass block, he indicated that it would require extensive reconstruction so he would refer it to someone else at Gray. I waited four days and didn't hear so I called. Although the ""paper work"" hadn't come through, they referred me to a tile ""expert"". He came and determined it wasn't a pan leak, but the glass blocks were leaking. He caulked them, charged me but the leak continued. I figured out that the leak must be coming from inside the wall. I bought a $6. shower arm to replace the defective one and the problem was solved. I contacted David Gray and was told they ""would look at the invoice"" I never heard back.

I used David Gray Plumbing 30 years ago for a repipe and they did a great job then, so when it was time for another repipe I hoped for the same results. Wow, I wasn't disappointed! From the moment Mark Evans quoted the job to the quality and cleanliness of the plumbers to the sub contractor they use for sheetrock repair, the work was 1st class.
They weren't the cheapest, but to hand over he whole project to one company saved me time and hassle that paid for itself.
I would highly recommend David Gray Plumbing.

I had a couple of crews out to my newly remodeled house. The original general contractor, a plumbing contractor that will remain un-named, and they couldn't get to the bottom of the issue with my washing machine flooding our house. Lee and Vincent showed up on time from David Gray. Lee immediately recognized the problem and fixed it within one hour. On top of that, they cleaned up behind them and referred us to another team in their office to re-do the plumbing the contractor had done incorrectly. Within two hours, Mark contacted us and made an appointment to come give us a quote, which was very reasonable. Not the cheapest, but there's a reason work is cheap. It's not done right. I have great confidence in David Gray based on my experience with Lee and Vincent alone. Thank you gentlemen! We did three loads of laundry finally after 11 days in our new house!

Called David Gray Heating and Air because my 10 year old air conditioning unit decided it wasn't working during of all months, the month of July. I was impressed with their response time even though it was the next day. The technician came out and the problem appeared to be fixed. The unit began cooling and cooled for 1 hour. Technician came back out and discovered a different problem. I was told that I would need a condenser but they couldn't give me an estimate until Monday morning, 2 whole days away. I was promised someone would call me Monday morning with the information and the cost. Well by 2pm and still no call, I called them and got the estimate. Not impressed with their estimate, their timely manner or their customer service I decided to take my business elsewhere. Contacted another company and actually purchased a brand new unit. 5 days later they finally call me and ask if I ever made a decision about the estimate. Yes, I decided not to ever use David Gray again for anything else.

We had an issue where the breaker kept tripping on the AC. I called on a Saturday thinking it was going to cost a lot. The person on the phones asked questions so that they could have what they needed when they arrived. Andrew was the electrician. He quickly solved the problem and was extremely polite. Andrew and David Gray Electrical made a new client today and for the future.

The usual great, prompt service we have gotten in the past. Friendly, knowledgeable tech guy came out, diagnosed, and quickly remedied the problem .

again of there was a zero or negative rating i would post. david gray electrical and plumbing owes dedicated employees vacation time also, gary gray (so called president) which is the owner changes a employees pay from salary to hourly for the owner gary gray advantage is wrong also doesn't deserve a customres service. a dedicated employees get treated like a criminal when you turn in a notice of resignation. the license holder of electrical division brandon gibbs also has taken advantage of past and present drug free employees that did no wrong. people ask for there vacation pay and salary wage no response. as a note gary gray was quick to anwser that all situations can't be resolved but why steel from dedicated employees, then charge customers a 600% to 1,000% mark up on materials, if an employee asks for owed vacation time or owed pay, david gray plumbing and electrical which names are above will not give employees there deserving, hard working, relocate for job or just a hard workung individual what we deserve. yes tried asking for vacation time and why my last check is short, no reply or anwser. hire a local plumber or electrician in your community, invest in you're community amd it will grow. if you notice, invest in your own community there will be local businesses contribute to community projects. when you see a muliti billion dollar corporate take over an area then major changes happen. just like employers taking advantage of men and women working for the company. invest amd spend your money in your community to the contractirs in tour community.

$1189.75 to replace blower mtr and compressor on a three yr old system under warranty. Plus $98 diagnostic. Blower mtr was working when the tech arrived. Parents taken advantage of

Didn't even get to the point where we could evaluate the company because they don't do estimates. I find that suspicious and causes problems for homeowners who want the best job at the best price. No business from me!

My landlord had this company come out to find out why we lost power to a whole room and to out side lights. First technician came out and after testing outlets and looking in attic (which I lent my tactical flashlight and they kept) he informed my daughter, not me that due to him having kids he was refusing to service the call. There was some ferret feces near the outlet , the litter boxes hadn't been scooped yet. So they rescheduled for another call next day no problem. We insured next day there wasn't an issue, next day two techs come out different do same thing as ones day before check outlets, check panel box, and check attic. Except they explain how adjuster needs to come out to give estimate due to fact more than likely wire has been chewed in attic. Also tell us how prior tech is germaphobe and has had issues with others before. So I call my land lord to let him know what they told us, help texts me a little later informing me they had no record on their dispatch log of anyone coming out at all. Now being a disabled combat veteran with one of my disabilities being severe PTSD this didn't go over too well. My landlord said he'd try to find out early morning if maybe they just didn't update their dispatch log, WTH those guys came at 10 am not late afternoon. Late afternoon my landlord is finally informed by this so called reputable company that they still refuse to do service until he can assure them it is up to par. Well little does this company know my landlord lives two houses down from me has not only come by unannounced before and was told to so after 1st visit, but video was taken and sent to him and posted for comments and NO ONE understands WTH this company is talking about. Maybe they should state what is their issue while actually here. Or actually that the real reason is they don't want to crawl in this Itty bitty attic to fix the issue because it is an old house or they just don't know. Not lie and slander someone. My PTSD and blood pressure were through the roof because of the unscrupulous practices of this company. Will never use or recommend ever.
