David Gray started the business in 1983 out of a Plymouth Duster (a sedan, not a van or truck). Initially, phone calls rang into his father-in-law's furniture store and were picked up by furniture salespeople. The company developed to the extent that an office with staff was needed.

This business is truly a family-owned venture. At different points, David's wife, father, father-in-law, brother-in-law, son, daughter(s), and niece have worked for the business. David's son and brother-in-law are now co-owners and play key roles in running the company with him.

The company has evolved from that Plymouth Duster to now having over thirty-five service crews and more than 70 employees. In 1980, David Gray started David Gray Plumbing, Inc., and we have been offering excellent plumbing repair services in Jacksonville, FL ever since. We employ the best plumbers and certified HVAC technicians in Jacksonville.

I had a new garbage disposal installed and it was painless. Same day service and they showed up when they said they would and even called ahead to let me know when to expect. Kevin the plumber was personable and professional. I have use them before and would recommend them to anyone and each time the service is the very best. They all seem happy to be working for David Gray Plumbing.I would have done 5+ as a lot of service people do not keep their appointments this well.

Corey was very unprofessional. He was good at getting the estimate and scheduling the job however the communication and follow up with problems was horrible. We had a condo repipe done and a new water heater installed. They left a large hole in the wall behind the water heater and under the kitchen cabinet, 2 faucets also had very little water pressure and the air conditioner drain line which is directly over the water heater leaked. He responded by scheduling the drywall repair a week later which meant the newly installed water heater had to be disconnected and moved. Very inconvenient. As for the faucet and leak to pipe that he would look at it but only as a courtesy. Not covered under contract. In my opinion everything that worked prior to the work should be left in the same working order. On the day of the drywall repair a lack of communication caused another technician to be dispatched. Kevin was great. He fixed the faucet within minutes. It was not sediment as Corey indicated, it was PVC shavings from the repipe...and I was going to be charged for that..... He removed the water heater and we then do had to wait for the drywall repair a few hours later. That work was completed without issue. Corey showed up a short time later to put the water heater back. He had a bad attitude from the moment he walked in the door. He put the water heater back but wanted again to charge us for fixing the drain line that was clearly disturbed by the moving of the heater. When we expressed concern about that he became upset got very loud, spouting if you take your car to a mechanic for a problem and he finds a cracked block he would have to charge you to fix it. That may be true however if I took my car to a mechanic to fix the steering wheel and they cut my leather seats by sitting it it with tools in their pocket, absolutely they would have to fix it. He estimated the job, he saw how close that drain line was to the water heater and should have included that in the estimate. Again if they hit the line removing the unit they should fix it. He refused and just replaced the same pipe. Of course it leaked and we had to do the repair. It cost 5 dollars. Materials a plumber has on hand.

I contracted them to install new supply lines throughout the house. They broke tiles in my shower wall to get to the shower valve when they could've avoided this by going behind a cabinet behind the valve (I was able to remove this later on in 10 minutes). They acknowledged it was a mistake and promised to fix the damage by installing a plate over the broken tiles or replacing the tiles at no charge. Then they talked me into installing a new valve because of what they reported as an irreparable leak in the old one. When they did the install they destroyed the entire area of the valve because they saw fit to place the new valve a foot above the original. Then they said the plate would not cover the area so I'd have to re-tile the entire area and that this was my responsibility. They were very efficient at getting my business and arriving when they promised, but not too concerned with taking responsibility for their errors and making good on promises.

In January 2006,I had David Gray Plumbing, in association with Infinity Tile, replace the tile in my shower, as it was leaking. Unbeknownst to me at the time, they did not replace the wet insulation nor the wet, rotting framing.
In April, 2016 due to another leak in the same shower, I had another contractor tear out the tile. It was then he discovered the sloppy job that had been done. I paid Infinity Tile $1000 for an obviously unprofessional, sloppy, inadequate job that continued to leak behind the wall for 10 + years.
It is reprehensible that David Gray Plumbing and Infinity Tile perform such work and literally rob me of my money.

Had them fix faucet In bathtub, leaking due to cartridge needed replacing. Man replaces cartridge I pay for the invoice. 2 weeks later it starts leaking again, they come back and replace cartridge, guys says cartridge under warranty. Pay only for labor. Ha! The invoice it was more than I paid the first time I paid the first invoice. 3 months later I get a bill that says plumber forgot to charge me for the cartridge I owe them a large amount of money for the cartridge again. After I dispute this charge for several weeks, they agree with me I owe nothing. The faucet just a couple weeks later starts leaking again.
Damn if I'll call David Gray again!!!

They quoted me one price over the phone, then tried to charge me double when they got here. Also tried to extend the billing time by sitting in the truck for 30 minutes after the job was finished and tried to claim they started the job 30 minutes before they got here. When I pushed back on all those issues they gave me a new invoice but they had increased what they were charging me for parts to try to pad the numbers that way.

Stay away from this company. I purchased a Moen Posi-temp cartridge for a shower/bath faucet. This was the correct one after researching on the internet. Servicemen stated that it was the wrong one and they would have to check the warehouse for one and call me back. Three days later no call so I called them and was told they would call back. Two days later still no call. I then e-mailed them and still no response. Called ASAP Plumbing and they came right out and told me the cartridge I had bought was the correct one. David Gray just did not want to do the job so they lied!

We've used this company for several plumbing projects over the past ten years and have never been disappointed. Recently they totally re-piped our house and their workers were professional, efficient and extremely helpful in resolving some complicated issues. Their equipment is state of the art and the staff exceptional in scoping out a project and making cost-effective, code-compliant recommendations/improvements. Highly recommend this company.

Please think twice before calling david gray plumbing.
I have used bill fenwick before; they stand behind their warranty.
David gray installed bidet in 2 of my restrooms and a pressure valve 6 months ago.
All the parts were purchased from them.
Now, 1 of the restroom pressure valve is dripping water.
When i called cc, they said parts are warranted for 1 year and labor is not.
First they said we did not install the part; spoke to the supervisor and he said ""yes, part is covered under warranty, which i see that david gray had installed""

Now, comes the ironic part of the situation.
They say part is covered under warranty which costs $20 at homedepot/lowes (i paid approx $50 to DG) but labor to install new part is not.

I paid for the labor 6 months ago; if your part cant handle the water pressure, why should i be penalized for it.
Where is the warranty?
DG is cheating everyone.
Any work goes good everybody is happy and good reviews.
Job goes bad; customer pays for it.
THINK BEFORE USING THEM:
Its time for me to call a real plumbing company
Thanks

Have used these guys for years. Mark Evans has been my project manager for two of our plumbing projects and has insane attention to detail. My new Rinnai tankless heater is working beautifully. It is not uncommon for the areas they are working in to be cleaner then they were before they started. Pricing is higher than average, but you get what you pay for. Just found out during my last service call they also do heating, air and electrical now. Hopefully I don't have any issues in this area, but if I do I will be calling them for those as well!
