David Gray started the business in 1983 out of a Plymouth Duster (a sedan, not a van or truck). Initially, phone calls were directed to his father-in-law's furniture store, where they were answered by furniture salespeople. The business grew to a level that required an office and a dedicated staff.
The company operates as a genuine family business. At different points, David's wife, father, father-in-law, brother-in-law, son, daughter(s), and niece have worked for the company. David's son and brother-in-law are now co-owners and play key roles in running the business with him.
The business has transformed from that Plymouth Duster to having over thirty-five service crews and a workforce of more than 70. David Gray founded David Gray Plumbing, Inc. in 1980, providing excellent plumbing repair services in Jacksonville, FL ever since. Mark and his assistant were super nice to work with. My job ended up being larger as I kept finding things to be done. It started with a broken toilet flange. Then, I found a second one. Then, I discovered a bad valve. I ended up asking them to replace four older valves that either weren't working or were suspect. Then, I added an outdoor valve for our hose that had been acting up. They cleaned up and even did little things like re-grouted around the three installed toilets. I definitely recommend David Gray Plumbing.

I am new to Jax and I use Yelp almost every day.
My disposal needed replacing so I researched plumbing services on Yelp.
I decided upon David Gray.
The service call went exactly as promised. The representative was professional and knowledgeable.

Just moved from out of State & bought an as is fixer upper. I called 2 other plumbers before calling David Gray. David Gray came through. Great service all around, & fast too! The price was in the ballpark of what I researched from other places. I highly recommend them. They hooked up my pipes to the sewer line, snaked my sewer line, and hooked up new kitchen pipes... I will use them again.

Years ago I used David Gray Plumming , and had a great experience . When I needed an A/C unit I figured let use them again - was I wrong , from the call to the guy who came out to give an estimate the experience was painful . The women on the phone was rude , crass and short , the guy who can out to do an estimate was the same - spent about 15 minutes at the house never went outside to look . Gave me one option and left it was like he was being bothered to come out and do this . I'm sorry but when I'm going to spend 6-8 thousand dollars I would like to has a professional handle the situation. I had to call several times to get the estimate emailed to me and once again the women who answered the phone was rude and as the guy who did the estimate. So maybe David Gray needs to stick to plumming and hire some people who care. customer service can kill a business.

Very Very Disappointed!
I have used David Gray Plumbing for years and have been very happy with them. Unfortunately, I got one bad apple and the company did nothing to resolve the issue.
The plumber replaced the tub spout piping and installed the tub spout that I supplied.
The week before a plumber from DGP came out and replaced the Hot and Cold stems. However, he didn't turn the hot side enough because right was on and left was off. So the second plumber turned the hot side 180 degrees so the hot would turn on in the correct direction. He corrected what his plumber left and I was billed for it!
When the invoice was brought to me to sign, it had 1.5 hours. When I told him he was not even in my house a full hour, he took off 15 minutes.
After calling billing with no return call for two days, I reached Kevin and he tells me the GPS on the truck said 4:03 pm until 5:11 pm. THEN WHY DID HE TRY TO BILL ME FOR 1.5 HOURS?
Basically, it was the plumbers word against mine and the plumber won!
Sorry David Gray, I do not like being cheated and will not call you again. It's a shame, because the work was good.

I have had both David Gray AC and Plumbing technicians here to fix a leaking AC. They failed to fix it and have refused to honor their so called guarente, charging me twice for the AC service within two weeks. When I asked for a price for a new unit, they would not even agree this brand new unit wouldn't leak.

David Gray electricians saved me on a Saturday night when I tried to do some DIY plumbing that went wrong. I really appreciate it. They fixed it quickly and didn't charge an arm and a leg.

My AC was not blowing cold air. Technician comes out and says it is from the compressor running backwards and resets the unit. AC unit has the same issue the next day. Toby the Thief calls saying it will cost $1,800 in labor costs to repair the AC unit.
I call another company to come out and they find out that the drain line is clogged. AC unit has run perfectly after it was unclogged.
David Gray has become a Fraudulent company looking to steal money from customers. You do NOT get what you paid for with this company (expensive).

We started using the heating & AC group because we had used the plumbing group for years & had great service. In 2015 we had them replace our complete AC unit. Early this year during our routine preventative maintenance the technician found a weld in the unit had failed causing the coolant to leak. They sent another technician out to repair at a cost of over $900. They would not warrant their weld which based on our conversations with others should not have failed. Then 3 months later we had an issue where the unit wasn't draining properly. Their technician stated we needed another part installed at a cost of over $1000. I had another company come out & they corrected the issue which was a clogged drain. They fixed the issue in less than 1 hour I talked to David Gray's office manager about these issues & she indicated she would research & get back to me. Never heard back from her so I sent an email to their general manager & never heard back from him. Horrible service!
