James did a great job removing the fluorescent light ""box"" from our kitchen ceiling, providing recommendations for lighting, and then actually installing the recessed LED lighting. We also had him do a few other minor electrical work as well. 6 months later, and everything is still great! James is very courteous and pleasant to deal with, and recently, even came to our house on short notice and on a Sunday to troubleshoot an electrical issue.

It was by chance that we came across James and we are very happy that we did.

We had them install 2 chandeliers, wall mount a TV and 34 recessed lights throughout our house. They did an excellent job and exceeded our expectations.

Moreover, they are knowledgeable, affable, and able. He was always responsive either through text or phone.

It's nice to find honest people/business.

We highly recommend them and will be using them for our future projects!

James has done a lot of work on our house. He moved and installed electric outlets, hung our tv over the fireplace and installed recessed lighting in our kitchen. James is very professional and always cleans up after the work has been completed. I highly recommend him.

I recently completed a whole-house remodel in North Pacific Beach. James and Custom Electric were recommended by a friend and after a consult I had a really good feeling about working with him.

All told, we put in over 40 recessed lights, changed up all the switches, put in central AC, a sauna, and lots of sconces in bedroom and bathrooms, under cabinet lighting in kitchen, and a ton of other things.

James was professional, and courteous, and often made great suggestions for problems that came up or that would have had he not had his eye on the ball. When the GC needed him there, he went out of his way to work late or early around other things to keep everything moving.

Most importantly, he did a number of small things that weren't in the contract because of the size of the job, which was just amazing. He's a great guy to work with

James installed ceiling fans in ceilings with no electrical connection. He worked quickly, no mess, perfect installation. He was really responsive at all times even when I had to change our date to start the job. Will absolute contact again for any electrical needs!

I needed ceiling fans installed in the bedroom and living room of my 1st floor condo, I also wanted recessed lighting installed in my living room and kitchen. The job was not an easy one as there is no crawl space between my unit and the unit above me. I called different electricians for quotes and one electrician never called back, another took a week to call back, another came out but was 50% higher than James price. James called me within a few short hours after I left a voice mail which really impressed me. James came out to do a walk through and talk about what I wanted. He recommended that I get high end fans which I spent more on but do not regret to this day. James sent me a written quote in email and I felt 100% comfortable going with him based on his professionalism and the great YELP reviews he has received. It was a three day job but no matter how long it took, I was not charged more than what was on the written quote. The work was clean, lots of prepping, they covered up the areas with plastic sheeting to protect my furniture and other household and kitchen items. James explained what was going on through the process so I was never in the dark as to what was going on. James went to buy lunch for his assistant who did the drywall patching and texturizing and bought me lunch as well! When does that ever happen??? When the work was completed, the clean up was amazing, no trash left behind, the floor was vacuumed and wiped up. I was smiling the whole night admiring their work and the best experience I've had working with a contractor. On top of all the previous mentioned things that made me happy, James did a follow up call a couple weeks later to make sure I was still happy and that there were no issues.

Called Custom Electric SD this Monday evening to get a quote on 3 ceiling fan installs to include running power and installing junction boxes. Texted Tuesday morning that we wanted to move forward with their services. James and Jonathan showed up today, Wednesday right on time and ready to work. They had large tarps to minimize dirty foot prints and all the tools necessary for the job. They also covered all furniture and bulky items with plastic to protect from any dust.

Both gentlemen were very friendly and kept lines of communication open in regards to what they were doing. They were in and out within a couple of hours. James explained the function of the fans and the remote controls which was nice of him. Before leaving they vacuumed any and all debris and left my house as it was if not cleaner.

The ceiling fans look great and you would never know that they did not come with the house originally. Wished I would found these guys sooner... Last guy destroyed my dry wall and did a horrible patch job.
