Cullum Electric and Mechanical has been at the forefront of the industry for over 75 years. Hubert Cullum established Cullum Electric in the 1930s. He started the business from his home and later relocated to a building on Waller Avenue. In the late 1960s, Hubert's son-in-law, George Smith, took over and added services for commercial and industrial heating and cooling. Cullum Electric later became Cullum Electric AND Mechanical and established its current location on East Durst Avenue. In the late 1980s, Wade Smith, the son of George, began working with Cullum Electric and Mechanical. He began in the electrical division and later assumed leadership of the service department. Wade still leads the business with John's assistance, and George contributes by advising and managing special projects.

Wade, John, and George, all Clemson engineering alumni, are licensed contractors in both mechanical and electrical disciplines. They are committed to maintaining Cullum's long-standing tradition of quality heating, cooling, and electrical services and installations.
