We hired Fred and his team from Creative Lighting Solutions to install a very heavy chandelier in our foyer, but liked them so much we asked them to install a light fixture in our dining room and rewire our hallway switches as well. Fred may not be the most inexpensive electrician, but he is easy to work with, reliable, and professional. He also offers a 10% discount to UC grads! He and his staff (Jose) worked quickly and cleanly during our two-day project. They were both very conscientious about leaving our home in the same condition as when they arrived. Their work was meticulous and thorough. I was a bit concerned about the ability of our ceiling to support the expensive, 150lb crystal chandelier we had purchased from Restoration Hardware. Fred added additional support/reinforcements to ensure the fixture wouldn't come crashing down 30ft and explained to me each step of the installation process. He is responsive via phone, email, and text. I couldn't be happier with their work! I would absolutely recommend Fred and Jose to friends and family, and will certainly be using them again for our electrical needs.

My husband and I were looking for an experienced and reputable electrician with meticulous workmanship for a specific home project and for ongoing other projects. Fred did not disappoint - he exceeded our expectations. He installed a ceiling light fixture in our dining room professionally, timely and perfectly. He is easy to work with and very responsive and knowledgeable. I used Creative Lighting Solutions for a major electrical job at my house. He upgraded my service panel to 200 amps, replaced all of the electrical outlets and lighting in my family room, added security lighting to the outside of my house and added some much needed power outlets to my garage and backyard.

Fred is a great guy to work with - always willing to do whatever you need to make you happy with the job. He does not just power through the job just to get it done so he can move onto the next one. He is patient and works with you during the job to give you options on how things could be done. He takes personal pride in his work so he is detailed, clean (they clean up after themselves!) and very quality oriented.

Overall, I couldn't have been happier with Fred and his work. This job took the better part of a week and everything went smoothly, looked great and most importantly worked great (passed city inspection too).

I have used Creative Lighting for ~ 8 years for projects as large as a complete power panel and wiring upgrade, to smaller sub plannel and circuit upgrades. Each time Fred and his team arrive, they are always on time and full of enthusiasm to get busy and always flexible with my last minute changes.

What I enjoy most about Fred and the team is that I can trust them, they do a great job, always clean up after themselves and they do what it takes to get the job done and in many cases it requires weekend work.

I'm busy person, like most other people, and having somebody that I can trust, does a great job, and always reliable makes each project a whole lot easier!

I had Fred and his crew install 4 can lights in my living room and replace a fixture on my front porch.

I had received a few quotes from other electricians for the job prior to contacting Fred and I was not very happy with them. I found Fred on Yelp and decided to give him a try....

Fred was very flexible with my schedule - coming to review and quote the job at night (after my baby went to sleep!) He was very polite and did not try to sell me on additional projects. I told him what I wanted and he worked within my budget. He also gave me really good advice in terms of placement of the can lights.

I really cannot say enough good things about Fred. The job was done exactly how I had envisioned...even better! I am definitely going to use him on future electrical work I may need. And I highly recommend him to all yelpers out there!

I had Fred and his team come back for some additional work today. 5 fixtures were installed (2 wall sconces, a ceiling light for the house) and a ceiling fan and track light for the garage for the man cave.

Arrived promptly on time took the time to talk to me to understand what I wanted. I had the opportunity to watch Fred and his worker actually install the wall sconces.

I notice that great care was taken to ensure he didn't track in dirty shoes while he worked. If there was a question, Fred answered it without hesitation. He even made suggestions on where to place the ceiling fan in the garage. Something I didn't really thought out well.

When the work was completed, they took care to clean up after themselves and made sure all the fixtures were working correctly.

Definitely Fred will be called upon for other future work.

In the past, we have used Fred and his crew, to install lighting in our kitchen and family room.
Most recently, he did all of the electrical work for our bathroom remodel, including installing new circuits through our basement to the second floor
He has always given an accurate and honest estimate. In fact for the current job, he did the work for labor and materials, which worked out just fine. Usually the cost of the estimates are ""average"" in comparison to others, but the workmanship is ""excellent."" He is always looking for ways to do things efficiently and intelligently. I believe that he has a degree from Cal, so he must be OK!
When he was done with his part of the work, he left the worksite much cleaner than what it had looked like!
Over these past several job interactions with Fred, it is clear to me, that he has very high integrity and honesty, and will do the absolute best job for his clients.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Fred Kawamoto's Creative Lighting Solutions and would recommend him unreservedly. We had Fred upgrade our house's 60 amp service to 200 amps, install some can lights and add several new circuits to better distribute the load. Fred suggested his home wiring analysis before beginning the project and I would strongly recommend that service for any owner of an older home or any home with a lot of ""mystery"" wiring. Despite some unforeseen issues working around the structure of the house, the work came in very close to Fred's initial estimate even though he did a number of jobs that we had not initially planned upon. He was extremely communicative throughout the whole process and updated us regarding progress and costs. In addition, he was very receptive to our requests, even if it often made his job more difficult. He stated at the start of the project that they would clean up each day, often leaving the space cleaner than they found it, and this was definitely true.

Fred's work was absolutely first rate and easily passed inspection the first time. Next time I have any electrical project, Creative Lighting Solutions will be my first call.
