BEWARE! BEWARE!
I called to schedule a technician to look at my breaker panel located in the master bedroom closet of my small 900 square ft. condo. The receptionist said a technician would be out between noon -2 and I said great.
The technician arrived and he was here no less than 5 minutes... said with a straight face...you need a new updated breaker panel and it would cost about $3000.00 and take about 2-3 hours to complete ....plus you need to do some additional drywall work around panel. He also stated he could do the work right away. I said $3000.00 are you kidding me... so he went to his truck and came back with a written quote of $3100. WOW!

Now it gets better... I told him that this quote is way out of line and I need to get another quote. So he gave me a trip charge/diagnostic bill for $120 and that no credit would apply toward a new breaker panel if I decide for him to do the job. I questioned with him saying ..I WAS NEVER INFORMED of a trip charge. I then immediately called the company talked to the same woman saying you never informed me there was a $120 trip charge... she said YOU NEVER ASKED!! I said really ......? Not even got a sorry from her. I asked her for a $60 credit.... she could not have cared less...

I researched the replacement panel cost and a top end Eaton 125amp panel would run around $400 including breakers. With that it looks like they wanted to charge me around $900/ hr. for labor. WOW! WOW!

I found another company in same area that uses a master licensed electrician that quoted me $1300.00 complete including the high end 125amp Eaton panel that fit in perfectly with no additional drywall work! Completely satisfied in fact I passed out his business card to other condo owners!

They came in my home for five minutes and with a straight face gave me an estimate of $950 to hang a light in my kitchen. This is not an embelishment. It is a large pendant light install over my kitchen. we have received other bids and all of them have estimated a four hour job becuase they are tying it into my canned light. So if my math is right that is over $200 and hour. GET ANOTHER BID. THIS IS SCAREY

I was told someone would come out the next morning. When no one called I called the office, they said they only make appointments if there is a cancelation. I tried to get an appointment but they take new customers if there is a cancellation. I asked to get on the calendar at the next availability and they said they can only make an appointment if there is a cancelation.... are you completely booked for the next month?!?! I asked how their other customers make appointments and she said only if others cancel.

They need to hire a new receptionist. I called their service number to request service, didn't get to fully say the name of my company (it is for a commercial job) when the person answering the phone blurted ""not interested"" and hung up. I thought I had misheard or misunderstood so I called again and the same person was very dismissive on the phone, telling me that I ""need to be aware there is a call out fee"".... I get that, I have had electricians before. I the end they reluctantly took my name and information and said they'd give me a call ""in a day or two if we have cancellations"".

First impressions are super important, this one was horrible. For a service business, they need to do some soul searching. I will not even try using these people any longer.

I searched this morning for a local electrician in the area and a Google search turned up Covenant. With such outstanding reviews I decided to call. I only needed to have three timers installed that were slightly beyond my capabilities and was told that an electrician will be out within the hour. Say what? I was expecting to have an appointment days from now! Sure enough, less than an hour later Jason knocked on the door and began the installation. He even swept up the area around where he worked. Excellent service, very courteous, and exceedingly punctual. If I ever need an electrician in the future I will be calling Covenant Electrical Services.

Our house was struck by lightning. Covenant came out to our home by 9am the next morning, inspected our house, and advised us on next steps. They were great, professional, and reliable. We asked them to return the next week to install a new a wall outlet for a build out we were planning. They arrived within the week and provided us with quality service once again. Two visits, two positive experiences, two thumbs up!
