I tried Chris out on my rentals to see if he could handle my house I was building. I'd heard some mixed reviews about Cotter Elactric but I have to make my own opinion about things cuz I really don't trust anyone's opinion on anything. I hired him to convert 5 of my occupied rentals to 100 amp service. Chris did 1 rental a day in less than 8hrs mostly. My tennants were all happy. His work was clean and passed inspection easily. He had a few problems on one of my building which had 3 existing boxes that Chris compiled into one central box. At no additional charge!!! I hired Cotter to do my house too. I'm kind of a electric-o-file. I had a lot of specialty things to install most of which were rand new never seen before. Chris jumped fearlessly into the fire and shined. Everything he did worked was clean and professional. Was 8% under quote. I would definitely hire Cotter Electric again. Total no-brainer.

I hired Cotter Electric to convert a duplex from one meter to two meters. Cris Cotter butchered the outside of the building leaving large holes around the new meter and said he could not repair them as he is not a carpenter. He installed spacers to secure the unit to a wall that were a quarter inch from filling the gap and left a three inch a hole in the roof where the old stanchion pipe was removed that aloud water to inter the building. The breakers in the two boxes are not the same so I assume he used old supplies he had on hand. He tried billing me for carbon monoxide detectors that were not required. The job was finished in a timely manor but the bill was over the proposal by twenty five percent. I will never hire him again!

I have to say the first two jobs Chris did for us, I thought things went pretty well. But the third time we had him come out, it did not. We were having problems with a GFI in our shed. It runs the landscape lights and irrigation. He said they needed to be separated because the heat was causing it to trip. So, he split the the two. When he gave me the bill it included an hour travel time and a $35 diesel surcharge (that was a first and didn't mention anything to me about it). Within a week, the GFI tripped again. Now the second GFI tripped and can't be reset.
