Waited over 6 hours for service man to show up. Was supposed to be there between 12-6. I left the premises as,I was not going to wait any longer. Then he calls that he'll be 15 more minutes. When he shows he doesn't work to see if existing faucets fit. First thing he says is over $500 for each faucet (I had 3 to be done). Using my existing faucets. I refused that price so now I will be seeking a real plumber. And they expect me to pay $59 for waiting over 6 hours for nothing! NO DONT call... find a real company to do your plumbing. No wonder they have horrible reviews. Shame on me for calling them!

Cool Today put a new HVAC system into our villa in March. We were finally able to schedule the first follow-up service call (our schedule was tight, not theirs). The employees have all been professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Very neat too. We have no complaints and are quite happy our neighbors recommended this company to us!

AC repair - paid big money an ordered a part. Got a temporary part installed while waiting. 4 months later and 3 phone calls no part , only excuses. Gonna have someone else complete my repair and then drop these guys and cancel my service contract.

The company was told to come prepared to clean the inside evaporator coils. Instead, he only cleaned out the drain line. Both air conditioner still drip water on the floor. The firm did not fix the problem. Yeah now they are still dining me for $600. I am still going to have to have another company come out and fix the problem they did not repair.

Let's discuss unforgivably bad customer service.

In August in SW Florida, air conditioning is a necessity. When the unit we'd purchased from CoolToday less than three years ago, still under warranty, died the evening of Saturday, August 26, we were happy they were sending a technician the next day. We'd paid for their maintenance plan, they'd been out recently to assess the unit, and assumed they'd get us up and running quickly--especially given that there was a hurricane brewing.

Sunday, a tech came out and determined it was an issue with the compressor; he said he'd get the part ordered and schedule the installation. The next day came and went with no action or update, and then, due to Hurricane Idalia coming our way, CoolToday couldn't schedule us on Tuesday and Wednesday. We tried to be understanding--natural disasters are hard. We waited anxiously for word about a Thursday appointment.

Come Thursday, the heat index was 111 degrees Fahrenheit and still, we had no update from CoolToday. After we called yet again, a customer service representative said she'd ""moved things around"" to make sure someone got to us on Friday. In the meantime, a friend lent us a portable AC unit so that we could keep at least one room of our house tolerable, but the heat and humidity outside that room was absolutely stifling.

Finally, Friday arrived, and this same technician came out that afternoon. After a couple of hours, he informed us that the compressor was NOT the issue, it was the TXV valve--and no, he did not have that part. (True, you can't check the TXV valve without a working compressor, but anyone who works with these machines should realize this is a possible issue and should be prepared.)

At the point, we demanded a guaranteed time by when our unit would be fixed, or we'd need a new unit. We'd been without AC for nearly a week at this point. A massive AC company like CoolToday should take care of their customers, period, and leaving people without a working unit for a week that time of year isn't right.
The tech said he'd informed his supervisor, who might come by (but he doubted it), and that I was welcome to call the office. He left. I called. It did not help. No supervisor came by, nor did I receive a call back on my request to escalate the situation.

Saturday morning, we called CoolToday to see they'll arrive with this other new part and learn that they won't be out that day; in fact, they can't get the part they need until at least TUESDAY, September 5 (due to the Labor Day holiday) because their warehouse was closed. Of course, nobody there attempted to order it on Friday, when they realized it was needed.

We began calling other companies, no longer caring about this worthless warranty. In the end, Authentic Air showed up within a couple of hours, called a store with the part our unit needed--and when I listened to the call he placed on speakerphone, I learned that, for a $150 fee, they would open the store to anybody who needed an emergency part. ANYBODY. By early afternoon, we had a functioning air conditioner.

At some point the following week, we finally got a call from CoolToday; we were gone on vacation and didn't answer. Then, just last week (Sept. 28), I received a call from them to set up an appointment to install the part. They honestly thought we'd gone a MONTH without AC because they weren't able to provide service in a timely manner. The customer service agent said she'd let a supervisor know and they could follow up with me, but, no surprise--a week later, I haven't heard a thing.

The real takeaway here is that sure, our experience with CoolToday--when we had services for which they could bill us promptly--was fine. They got things done, then billed accordingly. The moment we spent several thousand dollars with them on a new unit and needed emergency assistance under our warranty, though, it was clear we didn't matter to them one bit. NEVER before in my life have I experienced such unforgivably bad customer service, and I hope this review helps others avoid having that experience in the future.

Always late with saying they have a job that took longer than expected. Literally 4 different times I've been told this. This time I waited 5 hours on them to not show up when my dog was sick and I was waiting to go to the vet in case they came. Called their call center to be told the technician is on another job and it's taking him longer than expected. A heads up would've been nice so I could do what's actually important and take my dog to the vet. They couldn't give me an update on when he would be at my house even after I told them my neighborhood required they had to stop working at 5pm so they have 3 hours to get here and fix. Also every time they have ""fixed"" my AC for some reason they always had to come back either the next day or 2 days later because it was broken again. It's always funny that the minute you call to see why they haven't shown up and given the lame excuse...they magically are free and on the way.

I bought my ac in 2019 with a 10 year labor and parts Warranty. Everytime the tech comes out they push something I really need. I used them for 2 ac cleanings a year $150. Price was high but if any other company touches the ac my parts part of warranty is null. I was informed that was because other techs do sneaky things like poke holes in the coils. THE BIG CORPORATION decided they have too many different maintenance agreements so let's combined plumbing, electric, and ac plan. $20 a month to push more unnecessary parts or labor on their customers. No thank you I don't want to pay for your stadium. Buyer beware go with someone else spare yourself from corporate greed.

Their technicians must work on commission. I have used them for 3 years since buying my home. When my home was purchased the entire AC system was 1 year old. During my home inspection prior to the purchase the inspector had nothing negative about the system in his report.

I purchased a maintenance plan from Cool Today shortly after moving in. The plan provided for quarterly maintenance visits for a nominal fee.

The first visit everything was fine. The second visit the technician never showed for.

The 3rd visit cost me $700 , mind you at the time the unit was now approximately 2 years old. Fearing my AC would go out during the blazing summer heat , I agreed and paid the $700.

The 4th visit , the technician and I had worked together at the same retail establishment years prior, this visit cost me $100 to clean the drain on the unit. Ok , that I can understand. By now it had definitely had some use for 2 summers.

The last and most recent visit cost me $275 , to clean and vacuum the inside os the unit. The technician was in my home for under 20 minutes.

Now I'm paying $20 every month but the maintenance covers plumbing, electric and AC.

The last visit was done when I was under the $20 monthly plan. Being on the plan reduced my bill by approximately $35, that's it.

Something tells me these deceptive practices are helping keep the company name on the new ballpark in North Port. They have been in business for years. Either I have had a stretch of bad luck with dishonest technicians or they are , like I said working on commissions. I would not recommend this business in any way shape or form.

Notice , the visit I had with the technician I knew was the least costly. Make your own inferences.

Nevin was professional, genuine and had our best interest in his presentation and offerings for a new AC unit.

Anthony and Esteban were very technical and took pride in their install. Polite, respectful and made certain of our satisfaction prior to their departure.

Brenden was extremely helpful with a previous service call.

As a member in the service industry, I am sensitive and may offer a critique.... highly recommend Cool Today!

Tech came for an HVAC tuneup. Did about half the work they normally do for a tune up. He left, two weeks later I change my filter (something they normally do during service) and realized he left my air handler unbuttoned. My system was sucking in unfiltered air for 2 weeks. MULTIPLE calls and emails to management have been unanswred.
