A friend recommended this company and I was not disappointed. I really appreciate that they quoted me a solid price over the phone to install my new ceiling fans, and stuck with that. My electrician was friendly and competent and made sure everything was working well before he left. I would definitely recommend them now myself! Thanks, Cool Ray Electric!

My experience with this company was 5 star..they got here when they said..he was professional and respectful ..he even showed me things on some of the custom plugs and smart switches I have that I didn't know ..and the pricing was honest and fair, also gave me a military discount by noticing the sticker on my car and tattoo's..how sharp is that!! I will never call another electrical company in Leander/cedar park because I finally found the best electrician in town ..
Thank again ..

This is not a big corporate affair. This is a local company run by the people that you actually talk to. These guys are friendly, responsive, and effective. They showed up on time and did the job. The price was reasonable with no surprises. We are happy. What more can one ask?

The February ice storm devastated my acreage of older live oaks. One large limb bent my home's electrical service mast. I got a written bid on February 24th from Cool Ray Electric and tried to schedule the repair with them. I had to repeatedly call to try to get the work done. I was told he was checking to see if the City was waiving permit/fees to repair storm damage. This went on for some time until I realized Cool Ray Electric wasn't going to honor the written bid.

I spent less than three minutes on the computer this morning reading the City website that said the permits/fees were waived from the date of the storm until March 31. Anyone could easily find that information like I did.

The grace period had ended and now any repairs will cost me the additional, and not minor, expense of permitting the repairs.

Businesses not following through or responding is common. It's a sad statement of Austin's growth and demand outstripping supply, and businesses can just ignore you because they have enough work.

I've let several months (about 6 months) go by before doing this review. We had flickering lights and frequent electrical outages for at least 10 years. Cool Ray recommended some reasonable upgrades to get our electrical system up to current code. That made a huge difference. No more flickering; no more outages (unless weather-related!)

A neighbor recommended and I felt a little ill at ease leaving my request online but I'm so glad I did. The next morning I got a phone call from Marty with a quote I wanted for a whole house surge protector. The factory warranty was explained to me. He was able to come out that afternoon to install and explained everything. He gave a fair price, was a great communicator, showed up when he said he would and did a great job. I would highly recommend Cool Ray if you need electrical work.

So it's the ice storm of 2023 in Austin/Cedar Park / Central Texas area and a huge branch pulls the overhead service line off your house, what do you do?

You gotta get an electrician, because you know is a pain to have generators running 24x7.

Who do you call? With so many fly by night places popping up, it's a bit risky.

So we searched a few other sites ( nextdoor and google) and found this small group.

Anyway, my wife called on a Sunday. She wasn't expecting anyone to answer, and no one did - but about 5 minutes late she got a call back from Marty the owner. She explained the situation and he said he was busy with church but could come over in a few house to check things out.

A few hours later, he was true to his word and gave us a rough estimate and timeframe.

Anyway, when it came time to fix our stuff, his journeyman did all the work. The price was what he said it would be and his journeyman James and brother Chase did excellent work.

It's clear James took pride in his work. He took his time and was very methodological on the rebuild. Everything looked great when he was done.

Highly recommend.
