We had a potentially dangerous short in our kitchen wall and are very grateful when, after multiple recommendations of him by friends, Brian Conover and co-worker Troy came out and tracked down the problem via wall and roof, and got our kitchen and living room lights back to safe operation. It wasn't easy but they patiently and good-naturedly persevered and got the job done, cleaning up and charging reasonable fees. They've done some additional work for us and we'll likely have them back again soon for some additional upgrading work on this older house, along with hooking up a large portable gas/propane powered generator. Always nice to find specialists like electricians who are both competent and good, friendly people. Also grateful he too is based here in Hidden Valley Lake, and knows other craftsmen etc. he can recommend after living/working in this area most of his life. Thanks again, Brian!

Brian came out to bid a job, two weeks after not receiving the bid or any contact I followed up with him. I got an apology and was told that he was especially busy but that I would have the bid that coming Sunday (about 4 days later). The day came and went and the bid never materialized. Two months later and still haven't heard a peep. It's a shame, I wanted to use a local electrician and it seems like most other reviewers had good experiences but I've learned that when things go wrong they go epically wrong so I'm going with a different electrician.

Brian came over on a Saturday morning to check out my sewer pump. Arrived exactly when the appointment was scheduled. Quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem and arranged to correct another minor problem discovered. I highly recommend him!

I made an appointment with Conover to hunt down and fix a smoke detector problem I was having and couldn't seem to track down. At 8:00 AM on the dot (my appointment time) Brian, the owner, and Troy, his apprentice rang my door bell. They both greeted me with a friendly handshake and then got down right to business. It took them no time to track down the problem. It turned out to be a bad CO2 detector that was near the smoke detector, which I will replace ASAP. Brian and Troy were friendly and professional at ALL times. One thing's for sure...he's certainly VERY honest. Because he was only in my home for less than 10 minutes, when I went to pay him he said, ""This one's on me."" That's not to say that he works for free, who does? That simply speaks to his honesty and integrity. I do my best to support local services and businesses and in this case, I was very pleased that I did. I wouldn't hesitate to call Conover Electric for ANY electrical needs that I may have in the future.

Conover electric saved the day for me and my family. I'm always working out of town. So when I got the call from my wife that there was something wrong with the breaker box that was the last thing I wanted to hear. I called multiple electricians with no answer or response. Finally I called Conover electric and Brian the owner answered. He assured he would personally be there in the morning. He was very professional and saved me and my family. He had the parts on hand and fixed the problem in no time at all.We had a refrigerator full of food that was saved. We are very happy with Conover electric and we highly recommend him to anyone.

I spoke with Brian felt very comfortable with his experience and agreed to pay for an electrical inspection on a Thursday on a house I am purchasing. He sent out a knowledgable associate and I was told that Brian would get me the estimate at the beginning the next week. I am still waiting on that estimate and have left several messages, sent emails and still have not received a call back. I have however received 1 email apologizing that he has been very busy and that I would have the estimate in a few hours. I still have yet to receive the estimate or a call. Again I paid for the service and the report and have not received it after 12 days.
I am bothered by the lack of customer service, sense of urgency and communication.

They came out to replace a bad circuit breaker at my mother's house last summer despite huge wildfires raging near their business. Brian also helped find out if a friend still had a trailer for his family to live in if they lost their home (They didn't) and just generally faced disaster with calm dignity.
