Growing up, I observed my father fix and restore various items in our household. Whenever a toaster, TV, or car was set out for trash, my father would salvage it and restore it. One memorable Christmas, he handmade a Santa Claus in his sleigh, lit up, and displayed it on our roof! He was incredibly handy and, to me, a genius! I dreamed of being like him, but there was a hurdle—I was a girl! In the 1950s, that was a challenge, so I buried my aspirations and went to college. After graduating at the top of my class, I entered Corporate America. In my spare time, I developed my skills across various trades. For three decades, I worked on home improvement projects of every size and eventually established my own business—Concierge Renovations.
