He's always gotten his work done in a timely manner and is totally honest. He always does his work up to code but has often saved me some money by finding a more efficient way of delivering what I wanted.

Clay seems like a decent, interesting person (if a bit short-tempered when it came to fixing an electrical switch and completely failing, amid a hailstorm of curse words), and he seemed to appreciate the two vintage fixtures he installed for us, but he REALLY screwed up the installation of our living room ceiling fan.

Essentially he DIDN'T HAVE A CLUE what he was doing, yet he faked-it-till-he-made-it and installed it incompetently anyway. This resulted in the ceiling fan spinning itself loose from the ceiling a month or two after the installation, sending it crashing to the ground. Wow, I can't adequately state how totally DANGEROUS and SHOCKING this situation was. Clay actually used the word ""tomahawked"" when it came to installing the ceiling fan (as in, ""You don't want to get...""), and how very prescient that was! We (and he) are lucky no one was ""tomahawked"" and/or hurt (apart from my antique table below, which incidentally Clay refused to compensate us for nor did he refund us for the installation fee).

We ended up consulting with a ceiling fan installation expert (as well as the store that sold us the fan) and he confirmed that the improper install was the reason why we suffered this EPIC FAIL. I'm still considering taking this to small-claims court. Thanks for nothing (but trauma), Clay!

Clay came out and spent most of the day at my house. He added some outlets, upgraded some circuits, repaired a fluorescent fixture in my kitchen that hadn't worked in years, and repaired the lights in my bathroom that were shorting out. He was extremely professional, pleasant to have around, cleaned up meticulously, and was reasonably priced. I'm very pleased with all of the work he did, and would definitely call him again! As an added bonus, he dropped everything to install a room-size air conditioner for my elderly mother on one of our very hot days.
